The tankies will just point to the slow advance of their army at the expense of their country's future generations as evidence they're clearly not as inferior as they're portrayed (they are).

Idk, the whole war is stupid. Biden routinely crossing all the red lines Russia tries to say they have shows he could've just gone balls to the wall day 1 and Putin would've probably run away and blamed NATO. Honestly, it's kinda depressing when you realize a lot of Ukrainian territory will be ethnically cleansed and forced into Russia because of Biden's ineptitude at the start, trying to convince Zelenskyy to run instead of just supplying arms.

And Trump is a fucking tool who will give Ukraine up because Elon tells him to, and Elon is a moron when it comes to geopolitics and thinks WW3 was a real risk from this small regional conflict.

Hey at least we have the excuse that we're 27 cats that need herding, so things go slower. (Some individual countries are doing admirably though, Little Sister Estonia for example, and Finland, giving experimental gear to see how good it is at killing russians.)

That's why the territories currently held by ruZZia should be bombarded with cluster mines. Litter the lands with those, and ruZZia can have it's lebensraum it so desperately desires.

So it sounds like russia just tried to do what mr. Gaidax said they could do whenever they felt like it. Attack the seats of power in Kyiv.
It went exactly how we said it would.
Russia launched five ballistic missiles against Ukraine's capital on the morning of Dec. 20,
Though Ukraine's Air Force reported that all projectiles were downed, missile debris fell in at least four of Kyiv’s districts, starting fires across the city.

So Trump pivoted against the preassure, always something in regards to at least the new Ukraine package.

Speaking broadly I always found it facinating how promoting isolationism while trying to be a super power made sense.
I know Trump isnt that stupid to not understand that it is not feasible, the problem is part, a larget part of his voterbase are dumb as fuck and think the two are separated.

Ukraine apparently carried out a fully mechanical/robotic/drone attack without human bodies on the ground.

So I'm gonna comment on something else I saw in that article, because holy shit:
Russian military losses in its full-scale invasion of Ukraine have exceeded 750,000 Russian soldiers...

Russian losses exceeded 45,000 troops and $3 billion worth of equipment in November.

President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed in a rare statement that Ukraine had lost 43,000 soldiers on the battlefield since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
That's Russia, the former global superpower, losing troops at almost a 20:1 ratio compared to Ukraine, with their losses just last month exceeding Ukraine's entire casualty count for the last three years?

Jesus fucking Christ are those horrendous stats for Russia. I cannot understand how anyone can still go to bat for Russia's military capability when they're pulling those kind of numbers in a war they started against a much smaller opponent.

    You're confusing kills with casualties.

Politico: Kyiv reveals total Ukraine casualties in Putin’s war for first time
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, Ukraine has lost 43,000 soldiers killed in action and 370,000 more were wounded, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday, in Kyiv's first disclosure of total casualty figures in the the nearly three-year conflict.

The Ukrainian figures compare with 600,000 dead and wounded reported for the Russian side. Zelenskyy insists that Moscow's losses are larger than that.

“Updated data on Russian losses exceed 750,000 of their people. This is 198,000 Russians killed and more than 550,000 wounded,” the Ukrainian president said. Since September Russia has been losing five or six troops for every Ukrainian soldier lost in battle, he added.

So putin had his hours long year end press conference on the 19th. During it, he expressed regret for the invasion of Ukraine.
He regretted not starting it earlier.

Putin says he should have launched full Ukraine invasion earlier, as he holds marathon live event
President Vladimir Putin says he should've acted earlier in Ukraine and prepared more before the full-scale invasion in February 2022
The BBC's Russia editor Steve Rosenberg asks Putin if he's succeeded in his goals in Ukraine - the Russian leader insists he has
I guess those causality reports, whether right or wrong, dead and/or wounded, are just not high enough for him.
It's not a problem if you don't look up.

Well, good news for him: that's an easy fix, since the ratio is more lopsided recently than ever.

    Good.

Europe at large has had a good amount of time to either wean themselves off of Russian gas or give Ukraine some answer of when they would be.

It's basically just Slovakia and Hungary who'll suffer, the rest of us already got rid of russian gas. Slovakia is whining a lot though.

So, Putin says he succeeded in his goals in Ukraine. Hmm.

What goals is that? To show the world how badly the Russian military gets beaten down by a supposed inferior fighting force? To show the world that the meme of Lord Farquaad is literally Putin right now?

Hmmm, They’d best set up some provision to trade with the rest of Europe then.

And, if he's succeeded in his goals, does that mean he's declaring victory and leaving? Because a vague "we did what we came to do" is exactly the sort of thing I'd expect him to say to save face while he withdraws.
