Seriously, how is it possible to be wrong every fucking time? Is that a gift? Have you had to study wrong 101?

Front National ties to Russia go back decades.

"Amid the war in Ukraine, Le Pen has had to soften her pro-Russian rhetoric to stay closer to the French public opinion. However, she continues to advance a foreign policy at odds with most French – and European – politics."

"In the 1980s, the Russian writer and future National-Bolshevik Eduard Limonov introduced the eccentric Russian imperialist politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky to Jean-Marie Le Pen. The two leaders attempted to launch a kind of “international of nationalists,” but their irritable characters and ideological differences would eventually scupper the project."

"Jean-Marie Le Pen (along with his then right-hand man Bruno Gollnisch) visited Russia several times, at least once in 1996 and again in 2003, while figures of the Russian nationalist right such as Sergey Baburin have attended FN meetings."

"Once Marine Le Pen took over the reins of the FN in 2011, her family’s private ties to Russia became official party policy, in particular serving as a guiding principle in the area of foreign policy."

"When Marine Le Pen became head of the FN, she sought international recognition in a bid to strengthen her presidential credentials. This included working to secure a meeting with Vladimir Putin, which took place in March 2017."

"The FN was also in need of financial support, and here again, Russia played a central role. For her 2017 presidential bid, Marine Le Pen obtained a loan of 9 million euros from a bank with close ties to Vladimir Putin. An investigation by the French investigative-news website Mediapart also revealed that in 2014 Jean-Marie Le Pen received 2 million euros from a Cyprus-based company controlled by a former KGB agent. While Marine Le Pen claimed that it was a loan, it remains unpaid, and at the time it was perceived as a reward for the FN’s support of Russia’s annexation of Crimea."

You can read the rest yourself, well that is if you care to know about what's going on in your country, probably not.

Not really no. I just do not subscribe to the narrative that this whole mess is Russia's fault alone.

Yes, like I said, 10 years ago, it was possible. Far less likely today.

Forced is such a strong word. "Incite" would be better.

    Who incited Russia to invade?

I thought Russia invaded for a "3-day special operation to denazify Ukraine"?

It would be nice if trying to get you to elaborate wasn't like pulling teeth. It does make discussion difficult when someone seems remarkably uninterested in participating.

No he's telling the truth. They incited the act the same way a woman from rural Pakistan incites the honor killing against her because of her dress or who she talked too.
They did incite russia in that way, he's right. The problem is with the reasoning behind it. Which is just so very, very, wrong.

Behind every Putin seizing Ukraine is a conservative man thinking he owns his wife like a slab of steak.

So as predicted, you're going for the "she asked for it" argument. You really are a special sort, aren't you? In the worst sense of the word.

When I was saying the same things as Trump, people here were calling me a Russian troll and they were saying that Trump will continue what Biden did because it's so profitable and beneficial for the US.

Now what are you going to say when your president himself is saying exactly what I said?

Like it or not, Trump is not a random forum member like me, he is the president of the US.

Ukraine aspirations to become a NATO member incited Russia to invade.

Better is certain one way to put it, given that now you sound like someone blaming a woman for wearing slightly too tight a dress, inciting a man to rape her.

By the same token I suppose most European colonial powers were incited to invade all across the world, since those darn (insert local people here) just won't lie down and give up their land and resources when asked to do so. How rude and indeed inciting of them.

He's a deeply stupid, useful idiot. Which is what I've thought about him since 2016.

    Trump is a Russian troll.

Believe it or not, Trump saying something does not give it legitimacy. In fact, most people would argue it does the opposite.

Yeah, because 2017 was 10 years ago and 2022 was also 10 years ago. Time works differently if you are gobbling up Russia's version of reality.

Right, right, Ukraine wanted to be safe from Russia, and that made Russia invade them.
