The fact that Dems are so hell bent on being the party of war is genuinely insane, enabling genocide in Gaza and now protracting a lost proxy war instead of getting the best deal possible. It's like campaigning with Cheney wasn't an actual mistake. Unreal.

This is also a great piece of war reporting if you want to understand the horror of modern warfare and why it needs to end as soon as possible.

Sadly there is no balls in the EU for joint operation to glass the Russian invaders.

Funny how the 'concern' about Ukrainian lives always says they should surrender to a genocidal power rather than suggest russia should just end its illegal and unprovoked war of imperial conquest and genocide.

Just think of all the lives that could have been saved if the Jews would have just submitted to the Nazis. And the Poles, if they wouldn't have resisted the Nazis surely wouldn't have been forced to kill so many of them.

Actually it was all Churchill's fault. That warmonger, who just refused to give peace a chance! He and his death cult kept stocking the flames of the war.

^This is you. You absolute dumb ...f word.

And think of how many millions could have been saved if Stalin had just surrendered to Hitler.

Everybody on the planet thinks it should end soon. Even Putin thinks that.

The problem is that you don't end a war by surrendering to the invader in order to "save lives".

Imagine applying this tidbit of "wisdom" back in 1939. European countries should have just instantly surrendered in order to "save lives", well at least France did (LOL). America should have just said "We don't care about Europe, it's not our war", but luckily for the world as a whole, Roosevelt didn't think like Trump.

You think Trump cares about Ukrainian and Russian soldiers dying everyday in Putin's war?! HE DON'T GIVE A SHIT! The only thing he cares about is the epic optics if he manages to end the war and look like a hero, possibly getting the Nobel prize for peace. But he needs to end that war in a way that also panders to his radical MAGA fans, who absolutely do not want America to keep supporting Ukraine, and in fact do not want their tax money to go to support wars in foreign countries (except Israel, of course, they just let that slide), and in order to end the war AND pander to his fans, he must convince Ukraine to simply surrender to Putin, it's the only way he can do that while meeting both objectives.

The original plan for victory was to keep pumping money into Ukraine until Russia ran out of money and could no longer pay for the war effort, and it was going slow but there was a light at the end of the tunnel, as Russia had to go through significant financial effort to pay for the war, while Europe's and America's economies didn't see any consequences for it, so it's obvious that Europe and America can sustain a war while Russia can't do it for long.

Let's face it. Russia only has one thing that makes it "dangerous": nukes. Russian soldiers have inferior training to the West's and inferior war tech. In a conventional war against NATO, Russia would lose, no matter what Russia Today's propaganda keeps screaming. And the West simply doesn't want the smoke of interfering in Ukraine with boots on the ground, because the West is living too good of a life to mess with it by challenging Putin.

Like...I'm a Trump supporter, that's not a secret, and I agree with absolutely everything he does except his politics in Ukraine. I think the only one benefitting from Trump's politics in Ukraine is Putin himself. America projects weakness and also pisses off her European allies, Ukraine is betrayed, and Trump looks like a Putin kissass and Russian asset. And it also gives China the greenlight to invade Taiwan because the West won't do jackshit about it in order to..."save lives".

I was expecting he would end the war, as he said, doing his usual strong-arming of the opposition, but instead he just bent over to Putin to "save lives". I was very very disappointed.

Minor nitpick, but American DID say that, right up until the war came to us.

It can't get more clear that Putin will continue this war no matter the cost. There are 3 countries that the Russians will never give up those are Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. I mean to an extent but it's kinda a stretch to say a country providing massive amounts of basically free weapons, food and fuel to one side in a war is actually staying out of it.

Nobody wants the war to continue. Nobody.

Well, nobody outside of Putin and his supporters in Russia.

Everyone else wants it to stop. However, Russia knows how to stop it. And that is by not invading Ukraine and returning the lands they stole back to them.

So, same question as I asked other people. I am going to forcefully take a part of your house, lets say, bedroom. If you don't like it, tough. Remove me by force. Oh, by the way, I am also thinking about taking other parts of your home and property sometime in the future.

So if you have no problem with Russia getting what they want, you would have no problem with what I want, right?

Because that is the exact thing Russia is doing. They started this. They know how to stop it from being a thing.

Until Pearl Harbor, that was the exact thing the US did. The only thing they got upset about, and only bitched about it, was shipping lanes in the Atlantic were being attacked by German U-Boats. Otherwise, outside of material support, the vast majority of the US actively wanted no part of the war in Europe at the time. Because, as you said, "Not our war" which was a legit thing that was said.

In fact, until Pearl Harbor, groups like America First and other Nazi groups(yes, America First was a legit Nazi group in the US at the time) actively had some support. There were even the Hitler Youth camps at the time in the US. There was even a famous speech that was done at Madison Square Garden by German American Bund which was a German-American Nazi group.

EDIT: Here is a picture of it. Look familiar?

It should as Trump has used the same imagery in his rallies. The only thing he was missing was the drumming band behind him.

Putin wants the war to end to. He just wants it to end with an unconditional surrender from Ukraine.

These drive-by post trolls are notorious for not reading any replies. It would be great if they paid a modicum of attention to a fraction of the information that's been posted here over the years, but they won't and they don't.
Good counter points from everyone, tho.

Pearl harbour didn't even get the US involved in the war in Europe - that only happened a few days later when Hitler declared war on the US.

It's far easier to do hit-and-run trolling, return to russian echo chambers and coming back later lamenting how everyone else is wrong and coping. A pattern that repeats with Easo and many others
