So, today in diplomacy news we are right where we thought we would be after 100 days of trump.
There was supposed to be high level peace talks in London today, but after trump suggested that Ukraine would have to give up Crimea, Ukraine was like, hey! thats our land and we don't think the russia should be able to steal our land.
This caused the meeting to be downgraded, and all the heads of state and little marco rubio that were scheduled to arrive pulled out leaving just some low-level diplomats.
Sleezelord JD then of course got involved, and just threatened to pull out of all peace talks with russia and Ukraine and military assistance because, I don't know. It was hard?
Right where we thought we would be after 100 trump days. Nowhere close to anything he promised.
I would like to point out that once again, this is just another example of trump making himself look bad. He didn't need to promise that he would end the war on day one. He could of just said it was politics talk, or he would try or something, but instead he hammered it home, promised over and over, and guaranteed it would be easy. Well its not, and it wasn't and its just another example on how hes a fool and liar and astronomically untrustworthy.
My whole political stance pretty much boils down to "I care about other people and the planet" and wow does that make some people mad.

It's been announced that German investigators have identified the culprits behind last summer's attempted bombings of several commercial flights in Europe as Russian GRU (military intelligence) operatives.

Zelensky is trying his best to explain to trump that giving up Crimea is against his country's constitution. This is quite difficult as Trump thought a constitution was just something to hang on walls and reference from time to time.
Sadly for Zelensky, the future of American aid depends on convincing trump this and why it's not right to give up your land.
The entire western world spent 10 years trying to explain to trump how tariffs work, and look how that ended.

It's not right they have to give up land to nazi terrorists, but that's the reality of the situation. I don't think it's a great time and place to get hung up on the legalities at the expense of a peace deal though. Whole ordeal has been against every law imaginable as it is. At this point they should take a deal that guarantees there's still Ukraine left, even if smaller in size. Alternatives aren't too great.
LOL. The treaty being vehiculated is absolutely hilarious.
1. Putin gets everything he wanted. Everything. No compromises whatsoever.
2. Trump gets his rocks.
3. Ukraine gets fucked in the ass.
Then Trump has the nerve to accuse Zelensky of blocking the peace treaty.

Jesus christ, I just can't anymore with these doofuses.
I don't want to call this war an "eye opener", because I always kinda knew it, but it was never so blatantly obvious.... but what this war has shown me is that the world is full of idiots and mongrels. It is still absolutely unbelievable that a country INSIDE EUROPE doesn't get 100%, almost unconditional, support from EUROPE to defend itself against an aggressor, who is 100% without a shred of doubt, the culprit of said war. An agrgessor that is KNOWN and PROVEN to have attacked them in both virtual and actual space.
The aggressor which is (one of) the reason why we actually still do own military in Europe ourselves and is not only a threat to us, but actually actively fighting against us on different fronts, that are not necessarily "battlelines" in a war.
It's not even the politicians I'm angry about, it's the mush and piles of living flesh that dare to call themselves "Human" that aren't able to simply demand it from their goverment. The fact that a rather significant part of "us" are lacking the morals to even acknowledge that "this war isn't Ukraine's fault" is disgusting me to no end.
When I read, see and hear Trump and his Nazi-crew spitting nonsense day in and day out, and then far right parties pick his shit up and try to distribute it, I can't feel anything but absolute hatred for the human race.
Ukraine isn't on the other side of the world for Europeans. Russia isn't far away as China either. Why the fuck do normal people support/whitewash dictators and goverments that are designed to undermine the common folk. How uneducated and quite literally *dumb* does one person have to even come to these conclusions. This is more and more feeling like the era of conmen, and the world is getting dumber and dumber by the freaking *minute*, because they give them more and more time of their day.
It's especially disheartening because it's not even like we are living in bad times (economically speaking). We aren't facing a total collapse of the goverment, like back when a piece of bread did cost 10 billion Reichsmark. Neither the US is, nor any country in Europe.
Peopler are literally screaming and craving to be beneath a boot. Fuck me, when did the indoctrination start exactly, because when I went to school, we learned about sourcing information, democracy in general and how to not be an idiot and falling for every bullshit you hear coming out of someone's mouth.
Perhaps this is also the fault of the corrupt media, more so than any politician. After all, the bullshit-papers are selling the most, as the general population isn't intelligent enough anymore to differentiate between nonsense and actual information.

Perhaps, and with that the lack of an actual ass-beating in a real world scenario when they spit nonsense.
Back then, we'd just hurt people for being like that, and they'd learn their lesson. Now they get away with it without consequences.
I don't want to derail the topic but in the end I kinda feel like it's related after all.
I don't know. If true and properly investigated and found out to be a driving factor, I'm quite frankly, and I'm not saying this as a joke, for banning social media and for making it illegal.
If it can't handle factchecking with 99% accuracy, it shouldn't exist. It's just saddening with how much people get away with these days.
Fake videos, fake quotes, fake pictures etc. etc., and the whole world is apparently lacking the media literacy to navigate this shit. And worst of all, people aren't getting punished by goverment law, nor the actual. and very much physical, fist to the face of the people.
I remember reading a Spiegel article just a few days ago, that has shown about how, and I can't remember the number range anymore, like 90% of the viral fake videos about a certain topic in Germany right now come from the same ~5-6 accounts.
I.E. videos literally showing ANTI-AFD protests in Nuremberg (you can even see the fucking signs that show AFD crossed out etc.) but as the video has shown the masses of said protest, the sound used for the noise was from Dynamo Dresden's soccer fanclub "Ost- Ost- Ostdeutschland!" chant ("East! East! East-Germany!") making it look and sound like the masses are demanding something .. I don't even know .. like a better East Germany or something (with fewer "aliens" in it).
The thing is, Nuremberg isn't even East Germany. Even the fake video itself said it happened in Nuremberg, probably not knowing that or something - only the stupid know what stupid does, don't ask me.
Like you can't even make shit up as dumb as that, because it requires you to be a very special kind of an idiot, the chant makes absolutely no sense there, and some people are still smooth brained enough to comment bullshit like "finally, Germany is waking up" and other degenerate shit.

Land of the free, home of the brave. It's going to be laughable hearing it in the future when you know the people of that land bent over backwards for a wannabe dictator because the price of eggs was slightly too high. When they stood back and did nothing while their freedoms were taken and a people actually fighting for their freedom were sold out. Leaders too scared to confront Russian mobsters or even openly allied with them. Complete joke.
I will say Social Media is part of the problem. Stupid spreads *really* fast, and unfortunately, it's faster to spread stupid than to fix it. Of course, there being no consequences for spreading stupid is also a problem, but unfortunately, being able to punch someone on the other side of the screen is technology yet not achieved by us.

I don't think its really derailing. So much of this shit in the world today is connected one way or another. Its rather creepy. Anyways, about that, the headline from a day ago was;
EU Fines Apple and Meta Combined $800 Million for DMA Violations
These guys know tech is bad, and even though 800mil is a drop in the bucket at least its a start.
*******
So a just hours after trump scolded Zelensky for not bending over far enough for putin....
Russia launches deadliest strikes on Kyiv since last summer, as Trump accuses Zelensky of harming peace talks
I would love that guy that pops in to call me a member of a death cult for wanting Ukraine to defend itself from horrors like this time after time to show his face and defend the actions of who I can only assume to be his employer. Hell, all you all "BOTH SIDES" be my guest and try and defend this.Russia launched its deadliest wave of attacks against Ukraine’s capital in nine months early Thursday, hours after US President Donald Trump accused Volodymyr Zelensky of harming peace talks in a fresh tirade against his Ukrainian counterpart.
Moscow sent 70 missiles and 145 drones toward Ukraine, mainly targeting Kyiv, Ukraine’s Air Force said.
At least eight people were killed in the bombardment, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office said, which emergency services said struck 13 locations in Kyiv, including residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. Ukraine’s emergency services earlier reported that nine people had died and more than 60 had been wounded.
Oh, one more thing.
The way Zelensky responded to trump was perfect.
That was from 2018, trumps first term.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared a 2018 'Crimea declaration' by Trump's then secretary of state Mike Pompeo. It says that the US 'rejects Russia's attempted annexation of Crimea and pledges to maintain this policy until Ukraine's territorial integrity is restored.'
