Trump is slowly reaching the same conclusion that we already knew for years: You can't make deals with Russians.
Trump never thought otherwise, he just didn’t care.

Amid his crumbling economy and tanking approval not even half a year in and Trump is looking for a “win” no matter how farcical, and him supposedly fostering “peace” no matter how one-sided for Russia it was is a big desire of his. But Russia actively blowing up Ukraine while “talks are happening” very obviously goes in the face of that in a real public-type way.

Could it be that Trump is such a big of an idiot that he actually believes himself to be some deal making genius?

At this point, with the cult around him, Trump probably legitimately believes he is God.

    100%

remember, he is a galactic level narcissist, he brain literally won't allow him not to think he is the best.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Oh, you can tell a LOT of them are Russian or extremely far-right to the point that they hate western civilization.

It’s Brietbart, what do you expect? It’s the right-wing rag of right-wing rags.

I expected exactly what I saw. Mostly Russian trolls, the occasional far-right nutjob and a possible random person that stumbled onto it and now is trying to talk sense into the insanity.

I wonder if the explosive was in a DHL package.

Hard to say whether it was Ukraine striking tactically or Russia taking out one of their own in the “lol oops what an accident!” kind of way.

And while you might be saying “what the hell kind of ‘accident’ is a car bomb,” these are the “fall backwards onto bullets” goons, after all.

    Bomb = Ukraine.

Fall out of window = Russia.

Car bombs were associated with russian Mafia. Falling out of windows was the Kremlin.

It's quite possible someone was paid to do it - wouldn't be the first tine the russian criminal element has been used that way.

When you said "Russia taking out one of their own," I assumed you meant the Kremlin.

I feel like "Russians taking out one of their own" would apply more for Russian mafia hits.

Your point is still a fair one, though.

Not exactly a current news story, but it just came to my attention and I thought it was worth sharing.
I'll just post the entire article.
CIA Deputy Director's Son Killed Fighting for Russia in Ukraine
The son of CIA Deputy Director Julian Gallina Gloss has reportedly been killed while fighting for Russia in Ukraine. Michael Gloss, 21, died during the ongoing conflict, with his death confirmed by a report published on April 25, 2024, by the Russian publication Important Stories. Michael was the son of Julian Gallina Gloss, who serves as the CIA’s Deputy Director for Digital Innovation, and Iraq war veteran Larry Gloss.
Before traveling to Russia in August 2023, Michael had been exploring Europe. On his Vkontakte bio, he described his journey as an escape from home, with an anti-fascist stance. He was an eco-activist, supporter of women's rights, and had expressed opposition to the war in Ukraine. In March 2023, he posted on Instagram supporting anti-fascist movements, using the hashtag "end Ukraine war."

Despite initially supporting Ukraine, Michael traveled to Russia and enlisted in the Russian army on September 5, 2023, at a military recruitment center in Moscow. His recruitment was part of a larger trend of foreign nationals being enlisted to bolster Russian forces. He joined Russia’s 137th Ryazan Airborne Regiment, and several images and videos of his enlistment were found during the investigation. A fellow Russian soldier described him as a strong supporter of Russia.

Michael was killed on April 4, 2024, likely during a Russian offensive near Bakhmut. His burial took place in December 2024 in the United States, though details surrounding his death remained sparse. Michael had told his family he was working in Russia to obtain a Russian passport and save money for a trip to Africa.

His obituary, written by his parents, describes him as having a noble heart and warrior spirit, with aspirations to make the world a better place through fairness, peace, and harmony with nature. It emphasized his humanitarian efforts, such as building houses in Honduras, restoring earthquake-damaged buildings in Turkey, and working on sustainable farms in Italy. The obituary did not mention his connection to Russia or the war in Ukraine.
I can barely believe this story. What has to happen to one to go from an anti-facist, supporter of women's rights, eco-activist to signing up with the Russian MOD. Truely bizzare.
It's not a problem if you don't look up.

Thing is it's not bizarre though, is it

It's just a metaphor for the bigger problem

Ukraine / EU are fucked without the US as an ally

What I specifically object to is: the US's repeated actions in undermining EU independence post WWII

Yes, EU ran with it for their own "benefit/s", but that shouldn't detract from the scale of this betrayal

Ukraine cannot expect EU to follow them without US support into the abyss. Only option is to appease Putin temporarily then either a) unite, militarise & prepare for war or b) bicker and wait for Russia to take over

Either way, again, with no disrespect to non MAGA US posters, US can never again be trusted. I hope this is evidenced in every decision EU makes going forward

I mean. Most (actual) leftist movements in Europe have at best a supportive stance for Ukrainian refugees and maybe, just maybe, some humanitarian support.

I don't know where you live, but I am not surprised seeing true leftists with all anti-fascist and so on words either supporting Russia or most of the time being passively antagonistic to the conflict.

For example, the most famous Swedish clearly leftist magazine, ETC, ran a story based on anonymous accounts that a charity for Ukraine was corrupt. They basically had nothing, but ran with it anyways. All to mess with the picture of the war being legit in some way. This is one of the better charities btw, buying used cars and remaking them for the military - Blågula bilen. https://www.blagulabilen.se/
