If it goes, it'll make Chernobyl look small. And the Russians appear to be deliberately targeting it.

Also apparently, firefighters couldn't reach the fire at the nuclear plant, so...

Directed no where in particular but something I noticed going through the news of the war today - don't spread false information even if it's anti-Putin/pro-Ukraine. All that does is erode trust, support, and morale on the Ukrainian side. People get wary and start drawing equivalences even if false or irrational. It also opens up people into buying into Russian propaganda, where the tactic is to fling so much mud that fact cannot be discerned from the truth allowing them to do whatever.
Fearing martial law or conscription, Russians are desperately trying to flee abroad.
Jesus fucking Christ. I really didn't think the Russians would be this careless. Regardless of whether this actually becomes a nuclear disaster or not, this has to elicit some punitive response from NATO, right?
What you mean years? inflation and interest rates are already skyrocketing with constant bank runs. The country's infrastructure will be in shambles as Russians are shelling blindly, there's no country on earth where there isn't food insecurity. There's no scenario where there won't be people starving after the invasion. As COVID has shown even in the US having the capacity is only a tiny part of the equation to getting food to people.
Although if something actually does happen there, it could be considered attack on Europe too. I wonder what will be then.
The siege itself was lifted on 27 January 1944, so she would have been around some negative number of months old at the time.
Putin is engaging in terror tactics now to massacre civilians in order to force the Ukrainians to surrender. Actively attacking a nuclear power plant and risking a nuclear "accident" that will harm all of Europe is fueling my fears that this is going to blow up into a larger war.

CNN reporting is saying that it was expected that they would try to cut off the nuclear plants from the power grid, but it doesn't seem like people were expecting them to actually engage in shelling or firefighting around the plants in such a dangerous and careless way.
I wouldn't go so far as claiming that this is an intentional attempt at causing a nuclear accident, but it's certainly risking one, and at a certain point intent doesn't matter as much as consequences.
CNN was going off the same bad information and trying to short it out.
People were trying to say firefighters were being targeted. Something that's immediately concerning. It would change the dynamic of the war and push the the West to intervene if explicit war crimes were taking place. Apparently that wasn't true at all.
It does not make sense and goes against previous tactics to damage the plant. Seizing it is one thing. Disconnecting, shitty but makes sense. Burning it down and targeting civilizations makes zero sense.
Very important for Ukraine to weed out people spreading misinformation because that's how you get civilians killed.

I don't understand why zelensky keeps fighting, it's pretty clear at this point that he has lost and none wants to help him, the only thing that he achieves now is destroying his country. I mean sure, not surrendering is fine assuming that your country and your people will remain at their place, right now it just turns into a homs, more people die, more refugees. It's not like the Russians will slaughter them or do something terrible to them. I would be really suspicious of zelensky at this point, I mean he is not a retard, he either has the intention to ruin his country or he knows that he will receive help at some point. There is no other way to explain this behavior, no serious leader would cause so much damage to protect his ego.
Can a nuclear accident on this reactor affect other countries in Europe too?
