Yeah, me too. We're finally reaching a level where I'm actually satisfied with the pain that's being inflicted.

Unlike... a madman like Putin sitting on nukes. How is it any different? Either way, if one of those nukes leaves their silo, it'll end Russia. They know that. There's easier ways to suicide than to convince a whole chain of command in the military to commit suicide with you.

    Large convoy still not moving

And now there is a NSFW video of a 35+ vehicle supply convoy destroyed near Kharkiv. There are reports Russia is now resorting to using civilian vehicles to try and bring supplies forward.

And according to Bellingcat this is a genuine leak from within the FSB, painting a picture of just how fucked Russia is. They even say 10,000 dead may actually be true but there is no way of knowing given how bad everything has broken down

They still might be on the right side of this conflict but they are far from ready to enter the EU. The events that occur there, happened many years ago on the rest of the EU states. We are long past this point. Ukraine is not that different from Turkey.
And still no justification from fucking bombing a entire country and killing thousands and creating a refugee crisis of a country with 40M people.
And Turkey is saint compared to most countries. Just look up how many syrian/iraqi refugees Turkey took in and compare that to the discussions of certain other countries.

Just to add that nukes flooding the black market was a real concern for the US during the Soviet collapse and should be a concern for anyone thinking the total downfall of Russia is a good thing.

gotta say not telling their soldiers what they were going to be doing until 10 minutes before they set off seems like one of the funniest mistakes ive seen an army make.

This kind of fearmongering is getting a little bit silly. Christ, at this point I hope someone drops a nuke just so I can stop hearing the kind of rationalizations domestic abusers tell their victims, from the people who are literally always on or at least adjacent to the weird Disney villain side of every issue every time I check back in on this forum. Drop it 45 miles east of Atlanta, please and thank you.

Shit that was a good read. And the arguments in it are very plausible at first glance. He paints a pretty bleak picture.

If there was a global threat of this level Russia may actually end up with a UN peacekeeping force in their country. Ironic don't you think?

I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally feel horrible saying this...buuuuuuut...a global demand for wheat is a huge gift for the USA. There's a lot of empty farmlands that could use a good graining.

Obviously, I would have preferred Russia not attack Ukraine. But in the world that attack created, the US can and should step up to fill the world's need.

Hah. Why does this sound familiar?

This conflict grew out of the rival imperialist ambitions of the Russian Empire and the Empire of Japan over Manchuria and Korea. In January 1904, Russian General Alexey Kuropatkin reproached Plehve for instigating the Russian-Japanese war and cooperating with political crooks. Plehve responded: “Alexey Nikolaevich, you don’t know Russia’s internal situation. To avert a revolution, we need a small victorious war.” His quote is often cited as an ironical commentary about the governmental policy of trying to distract people’s attention from the failure of internal politics through an external war.

You'd be hard pressed overestimating my underestimation of UN's peacekeeping capability in just about anywhere, let alone a state that spans 1/6 of the globe's landmass.

At least concoct something coherent if you're going to respond to me. There's no way to discern what you even mean in this trash salad of words you've thrown together.

At an absolute minimum, I think you need, what, 10 troops for every 1k citizens for an occupational force?

And that ~1.5m troops is still an absolute minimum that's extremely likely to fail.

I mean, this is also why it's silly to think that 200k Russian troops could successfully occupy the 45m population Ukraine (<5 per 1k citizens). At least unless they *cough* drastically reduced the population first.

Realistically, it would take closer to 50 per 1k, or even 100 per 1k, but that's just unfeasible.

How can Russia achieve its political goals, who the fuck is going to finance the reconstruction of Ukraine post occupation?
I find it hilarious to see the videos of farmers stealing tanks, apc's and other military equipment.
Can you imagine seeing a farmer steeling an M1 Abrams tank or a Bradley when the US is in a active war? lol I can't. And yes I know about the shit the US left in Afganistan to the Talibans.

    no, not happening.
