They still might be on the right side of this conflict but they are far from ready to enter the EU. The events that occur there, happened many years ago on the rest of the EU states. We are long past this point. Ukraine is not that different from Turkey.

And still no justification from fucking bombing a entire country and killing thousands and creating a refugee crisis of a country with 40M people.
And Turkey is saint compared to most countries. Just look up how many syrian/iraqi refugees Turkey took in and compare that to the discussions of certain other countries.

At an absolute minimum, I think you need, what, 10 troops for every 1k citizens for an occupational force?

And that ~1.5m troops is still an absolute minimum that's extremely likely to fail.

I mean, this is also why it's silly to think that 200k Russian troops could successfully occupy the 45m population Ukraine (<5 per 1k citizens). At least unless they *cough* drastically reduced the population first.

Realistically, it would take closer to 50 per 1k, or even 100 per 1k, but that's just unfeasible.
