Personally, to me the loss of the food supply for the Middle Eastern and African countries is a more pressing issue than oil/gas. Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Tunisia depend on grains from Ukraine.
Seeing various reports on social media suggesting Russia just finished encircling Ukrainian forces in Dontestk and Luhansk region, creating a cauldron or being very close to doing so.
If those reports hold up, it means a substantial number of Ukrainian forces are going to be encircled or they have to flee to Dnipro, which is a tall order over open fields targeted by Russian artillery and jets.
Regardless Ukraine has a major problem on their hands. Russian forces are marching towards the Dnieper, and if they reach and secure access to the bridges there is no way for Ukrainian forces to retreat or be resupplied in sufficient numbers. Before the war started Ukraine had an enormous number of assets in the area of East Ukraine, including 2 of it's 5 tank brigades, several infantry and mechanized brigades. Their loss would be an enormous blow to Ukraine's military since they can't replace the lost vehicles and any troops they mobilize from now are going to be mainly infantry.

"Life is one long series of problems to solve. The more you solve, the better a man you become.... Tribulations spawn in life and over and over again we must stand our ground and face them."
How tf does anyone even entertain the idea of Russia calling in its 3 million full time + reservist when they can barely feed/arm/supply less than 150K out in the field.
Yeah, theoretical amount of men you can raise counts for very little. Besides, Russia might have mandatory military service, but that doesn't mean the 34 years old accountant in Moscow or the 45 year old farmer out in the Oblast can be expected to show up and be an effective, disciplined soldier on the spot. Modern warfare isn't about throwing dudes at the enemy. To say nothing of supplying such a humongous force, when Russia has proven it's got trouble supplying a couple hundred thousand men effectively.

I'm always wary of assuming this is a large scale phenomenon due to fog of war and such. Certainly it's happened but who knows how often.
That said, to be sure random conscripts torn away from their families and livelihood and told to go stamp on a people most of them consider a kindred nation certainly aren't going to make for the most motivated and loyal of troops. This isn't WW2 where the Soviet's constituent nations were blatantly fighting for their survival against an enemy who wanted to exterminate them.

After watching this, I finally feel informed on this war.
So the russian comms are fucked. The SBU is intercepting all thier calls because they are having to use insecure phones with local sims.
'Russian forces had no choice but to use the insecure line because Era — the highly secure cryptophone system implemented last year by the Russian Ministry of Defense which is supposedly guaranteed to work "in all conditions" — is down. And the reason the system is down is that Russian forces on the front destroyed all of the nearby 3G and 4G cell towers required for the system to establish a connection.'
The best one ive heard so far is a russian soldier calling up his wife and telling her he pillaged 2 fur coats and asking if he has her size right (he does!)
keep seeing the russian soldiers looting stores and safes/atm machines. rumors of rapes too.
on the plus side that trapping them in the lift, was some classic home alone shit we can all enjoy, and the woman knocking a drone out the sky with a can of pickled vegetables a real classic move.
So, on the talk of Ukraine taking out another Major General - his name was Vasiliy Gerasimov. He also happened to be the nephew of 5 Star General Gerasimov, one of the two generals seen when Putin was ordering the nuclear forces to increase their readiness.
Russian military doing war crimes is basically a core tradition.

They'll just have them live off the land. Eat all the Ukrainian's food, animals, pets.
Looks like causing mass starvation in Ukraine has become a once every century tradition for Russia.
Dunno if you guys saw it yet, but an Irishman apparently rammed his truck through the gates of the Russian embassy in Ireland due to being enraged by images coming out of Ukraine.
Without a shred of self-awareness, the Russian embassy whined about the unprovoked attack on its territory.
I imagine the driver is going to be getting free drinks for a while at any bar he goes to.

Hell, it isn't even just that they oopsed tactically and destroyed the towers.
Why are you basing your secure communications network on civilian cell towers in the first place? It would be dead simple for locals to tear down those towers before abandoning a location. They're not exactly resilient infrastructure. You're putting the keystone of your communications into the hands of opposing forces, because you're a fucking idiot, and that goes right back to whoever designed that stupid-ass system in the first place.
