Building costs aren't a real issue. The issue is the ground it stands on. And that's scarce. But it is way off-topic

Just live outside of the city somewhere reclusive where land is cheap.

Are people legitimately worried about any of this? Way worse goes on that we have no idea about on a constant basis. Not trying to downplay it because it is affecting a lot of people just like most war does. I also don't believe nukes are on the table because even if 2 or 3 big ones go off the world is permanently fucked anyway so.

The world would recover eventually. Non essentials would be fucked.

Completely agreed, I expressed that same sentiment before. The best way to guarantee continued insanity in this thread is to indulge it.

Russia, according to the OPCW, doesn't have chemical weapons.

    Biological however is another issue.

Putin is asking China for equipment and support. Wouldn't that open doors for a free for all WW3? wouldn't this display of weakness get him overthrown or assassinated? It's admission of bungling this attack.

The US promised Russia would pay dearly if they used chemical weapons. What more can the US do short of getting involved directly?

You wot mate? A "free for all World War"? What on earth does that even mean, and how would the situation ever degrade to such point?

He has been asking his Asian partners for help since the start, to no avail.

Nothing new from the talks yet. This time those are being done remotely.

Your source has example of using 7 times more powerful nukes that UK has, plus I do love the use of words like "could". Not "will", "could". The work does have a lot of guesswork and even notes possible variations, like the food output, which could be drastically affected - or way less, depending on the circumstances.
You are also probably under the assumption that every sub will survive long enough to launch all of their missiles and that all the warheads will hit their targets without being intercepted/failing. That's a big if. Compared to USA and Russia the UK's nuclear force can best be described as "all eggs in one basket".

Fundamentally because dick waving insanity of madmen. The argument is making damn sure your missiles get through.

Research done by actual scientists who do disaster management are the answer, whole bunch of papers linked here https://www.sgr.org.uk/resources/uk-...-making#_edn12
You are carrying less than 165, in fact, no more than 120, which all are estimated to be no more than 100 KT. Hello budget cuts.

Hell, there is even speculation that USA and Russia can't destroy each other with their big daddy arsenals, because they simply do not have enough.
We simply do not know (and hopefully - never will).

Well, guess what - UK is not STR0NK enough then

Such bombs do not exist, thus it is purely theoretical.

I am starting to get a feeling that people forget there are two sides in the propaganda war.

Incredibly unlikely - but if that by some miracle happens, it would be huge middle finger to Kremlin + morale boost.

Yes, Russia clearly has spent all of their firepower. Clearly. That's the reason Kiev has basically not been bombed at all and that's why Russia has thousands upon thousands of unused vehicles not involved in this war. Clearly.
I think the hype is getting too far.

China does not want to get involved. They've been beating around the bush since the start, there's no reason to believe they'd start backing a losing horse now.

It means US gets in on it, maybe backed by Canada if China does, in addition to sanctioning China. If China is already fighting and Russia owes them, China goes after Taiwan. Yolo, India vs. Pakistan; they already accidentally fired a missile last week.

Ingest or inhale an Alpha or Beta source, you're in very serious trouble indeed. Gamma is dangerous because it penetrates protective measures, get past those and the other types are vastly more ionising.

Heh, some people took over Russian oligarch properties in London and now official talks are ongoing about using them as Ukrainian refugee shelters.

they're also attacking their own troops, if they don't want to fight anymore, or if they run.

A transmission between two officers showed that one had three soldiers with him that all said they were ordered to go home because of family related deaths.
And he asked the other guy what to do with them, and he told him to check their stories with his superior and if they lied to shoot them.

oleg deripaska's gaff. They said the ghost of nestor opened the door and let them in lmao.

Funny thing about oleg deripaska is that he has 3 more properties in the UK but they aren't in his name. They are in the name of helena bonham carter's family (her brother or cousin iirc) as the trustee's. Because we have an aristocracy here and this is how they exist nowadays.

Yo, Tulsi "I'm not a Russian agent/stooge/idiot, I swear!" Gabbard is recycling the Kremlin conspiracy theories about bioweapons, now?

We really should Make McCarthyism Great Again, but this time we can call all the conservatives in front of Congress to testify that they're red-blooded, freedom-loving, gun-toting, America-First Americans and not "filthy reds".

I'm only half joking, but seriously, start hauling these people in front of Congress and as why they're using their platforms to spread Kremlin propaganda.
