I know you are half joking but McCarthyism was one of the darkest times in US history many lives were ruined just for propaganda.

Cucker Tarlson is at the bare minimum a useful idiot for the Kremlin...is anyone surprised?

On March 3, as Russian military forces bombed Ukrainian cities as part of Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of his neighbor, the Kremlin sent out talking points to state-friendly media outlets with a request: Use more Tucker Carlson.

“It is essential to use as much as possible fragments of broadcasts of the popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who sharply criticizes the actions of the United States [and] NATO, their negative role in unleashing the conflict in Ukraine, [and] the defiantly provocative behavior from the leadership of the Western countries and NATO towards the Russian Federation and towards President Putin, personally,” advises the 12-page document written in Russian. It sums up Carlson’s position: “Russia is only protecting its interests and security.” The memo includes a quote from Carlson: “And how would the US behave if such a situation developed in neighboring Mexico or Canada?”

The document—titled “For Media and Commentators (recommendations for coverage of events as of 03.03)”—was produced, according to its metadata, at a Russian government agency called the Department of Information and Telecommunications Support, which is part of the Russian security apparatus. It was provided to Mother Jones by a contributor to a national Russian media outlet who asked not to be identified. The source said memos like this one have been regularly sent by Putin’s administration to media organizations during the war. Independent media outlets in Russia have been forced to shut down since the start of the conflict.

Does that plan leave Grimes enough time to start dating Putin?

Was hilarious seeing this news the other day, followed immediately by reporting on him blaming Kamala Harris for this invasion.

Yes, the Vice President is apparently all to blame for this.

Seriously, we need Tucker Carlson to testify in front of Congress that he's an American who loves America.

Even Chinese media is using his show as anti-nato, anti-U.S. propaganda. A useful idiot if there ever was one.

Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

Man, pleading the Fifth when you're testifying in a non-criminal hearing about your love of America would be pretty awkward.

Li doesn't get the attention he deserves as just one of the most inept wolf warriors out there but his posts are unintentional comic genius.

You are trying to threaten China! Only cowardly wizards threaten others. You are afraid!!!

Just spitballin here, but there's a chance that YUPPIE would be the PRC's ambassador to MMO-C.

Carlton Mellick III needs to get right on this. He's already got a childrens book out.

I don't know whether I'm the only one on this, but as more and more images are coming out of Ukraine, as more the Russian are shelling, the more people like Carlson are defending them, the angrier and angrier I get.

I've never been a fan of Russia and I squarely fall into the category of people who has always seen Russia as an existential threat to Europe and even the US....but I'm inching towards the attitude where I'm starting to see Russia as irredeemable and an existential threat to global security as long as it remains a nuclear power, I never agreed with Skroe on needing to break up Russia and remove it's nuclear weapons. But I truly believe this is the only way forward.

Literally this should be a guiding principle of both US and European foreign policy towards Russia. The dismemberment and de-nuclearization of Russia.

It's actually funny at some level, where the far-right has gone soo far to the right that it integer overflowed to into being communist.

Sylvanas didn't even win the popular vote, she was elected by an indirect election of representatives. #NotMyWarchief

Russia is a far right nationalist, big man fascist, regime. Nothing communist about it, never really was, the revolution just dropped the facade. That's why the same guys are still in charge.

Sorry, this is an instance of my mental map not being elaborated well. I'm mostly referring to things like this, where the common thought amongst Conservatives is that Russia is a communist state, even though it hasn't been for decades now, Carlson is a conservative commentator, etc.

How would they Strip Russia of nuclear weapons? They couldn't with NK.

You'd probably feel the same about the US of you lived outside of NATO. There are many people in the world who consider the US to be little more than a bully who randomly invades countries to distract from their internal problems and hold on to their own sphere of influence.

I'm not saying I don't understand you, and after the last couple of weeks I see some merit to that thought. But you have to keep in mind that all nations (with any projecatble power) act in nothing but their own interest (which includes keeping their allies strong and their opponents weak). It's pretty rare that anything that is good for all of humanity. Usually, it boils down to a gain for some and a loss for others.

I'd love to be able to remove this 'us vs them' mindset, but it only gets worse...
