But nukes? I imagine that would send the world into a state of abject alarm. Every country on the planet at that point would outright cut itself off from Russia. There would be no plausible deniability; Ukraine doesn’t have nukes, and no other country would believe Russia claiming that the US or some NATO member nuked Ukraine to frame the currently-invading Russians. I’m sure that would be enough to put even China against Russia publicly and internationally ; they don’t want to be seen as the guys who buddied up to the country that nukes one of their neighbors because their leaders got tired of a fight they started that was taking longer than they wanted.

Russian shells have bombarded the besieged Ukrainian city of Chernihiv overnight, its mayor has said, hours after the Kremlin claimed it would halt attacks there and in Kyiv out of respect for ongoing peace talks.

There's a petition against her and tons of congress people in the US are very horny for punishing her. It's all kind of moot we don't even know if she is his girlfriend, his official one is in Russia and that's assuming he even cares about his wife and kids. Whether or not his girlfriend is in Russia is irrelevant he is most likely a narcissist and those people don't have the best track record of caring for their loved ones.
