If you back him into a corner, he will decide "FUCK IT" and kill everyone he can before dying or being caught. His defense secretary even claimed recently they would have no choice but to nuke the West if they were pushed into a corner.

Russia can't even conquer Ukraine right now. There is no chance in hell it could take on all of Europe and win.

The Russian bear has been revealed to be largely toothless and clawless with the only thing keeping people wary of it is the Russian nuclear arsenal.

The flipside of that is do we really want to give Russia an excuse to start a war with Europe? Things are going poorly for Putler right now and if he can frame it as the evil West readying to invade Russia to keep Russia weak it would give him the propaganda excuse to his people to start lobbing missiles at NATO or NATO adjacent countries.

The more and more backed into a corner Putler gets the more desperate he is going to get.

Again can't emphasis this often enough in terms of "putin will frame it XYZ" that really doesn't change much compared to the current situation because he is doing that regardless.

Frankly I wouldn't actually be surprised if the negotiators ARE in good faith but that the army leadership has little to no care about the negotiations, and just does their own thing. I doubt their good faith as well, but with how this is going I'd really not be surprised.

Remember the video of the guy that was killed when he exited his car with his hands in the air by a russian tank crew, the BBC went there after Ukraine got the area back, and there are 13 other bodies in that 200yard stretch and only 2 of them looked like Ukraine army soldiers.

What do you think Putin would do if ukraine forces blast civlians similar to what russia does ? If his army gets rolled over and there is an actual push inside russian territory ?
Why wouldn't Putin drop a nuke on Ukraine as a "justified" defensive measure. He won't be targeting a Nato country and the west wouldn't do shit.

And hopefully nipping at their heels every step of the way. If the Russians redeploy to Donbas but are in no condition to fight when they arrive, so much the better.

No posts from @Easo? Has his head exploded trying to reconcile his "facts" that Ukraine has had all of its air power destroyed with the video evidence of an attack inside Russia?

Or is he still waiting for confirmation about what the talking points will be for this?

Saying all that, it still isn't beyond the realms of possibility that this is a false-flag attack. But someone a LOT smarter that me would have to explain what it was trying to achieve if it was. It's not like this could cause Vladolph to trigger super secret double war. It isn't going to move the needle on world opinion. So what benefit would there be if it was?
