Russia has switched tactics from “scare Ukraine into surrender by amassing troops at their border” to “scare Ukraine into surrender by swift shocking invasion” to “scare Ukraine into surrender by indiscriminate warfare “ to “scare Ukraine into surrender by committing mass and heinous warcrimes.”

It would appear as if Ukraine is not going to be scared into doing anything. Russia is not winning, and they have turned their own bitter sense of failure into spiteful backlash at their own ineptitude against innocent Ukrainians.

I swear, once shalcker inevitably waltzes his way back into this thread every post of his attempting to justify Russia’s actions or the magical endless reserves of equipment repairs available to them or the 5d chess moves that are going to keep his country from imploding should be met with a response of “mass graves, mass beheadings and mass rape.” Because that’s the current world perception of Russia, and none of that other bullshit he and the other Russian shills on here keep rambling on about.

    Pretty much this.

Though, I'd say that the first two were "the plan", the third was their bad reaction to the unexpected failure of "the plan", and the last is the direct result of their inability to conceive of the previous three tactics not working.

I kinda wonder if the Russian MoD is still pushing the "it's all going according to plan" line for the Russian people. Considering the embargo on actual facts coming into Russia at the moment, they likely are.

Of course it's going according to plan. They had mass grave blueprints and everything, that someone already linked earlier.

Exiled Russian oligarch says 'the next steps' of Putin's war may be invasion of the Baltic countries: 'He's at war with the United States and NATO'

Exiled Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky said in an interview with CNN Sunday that the next step in Vladimir Putin's war may be the invasion of the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

"We must understand that, in his head, Putin is at war not with Ukraine. He's at war with the United States and NATO," Khodorkovsky said. "He said this more than once."

Khodorkovsky, a former oil tycoon, was considered the wealthiest man in Russia until 2003 when, for what he says were political reasons, Putin charged him with financial crimes and imprisoned him for nine years. Since Khodorkovsky's release in 2013, he has been an outspoken critic of the Kremlin and Putin's regime.

"His propagandists have already been started to prepare Russian society for an attack on NATO countries. They're constantly talking about this," Khodorkovsky said. "And this is the preparation of Russian public opinion for this."

Earlier this month, Khodorkovsky predicted the invasion of Ukraine would end Putin's regime. However, in his Sunday interview with Fareed Zakaria, he expressed concern that Putin went "insane" when Ukrainians resisted the invasion and that the attacks could escalate.

"I'm absolutely convinced that, if Putin decides that he has won in Ukraine, this is not going to be the last step, the last war," Khodorkovsky said. "The next steps will be the Baltic countries."

The Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are all members of NATO. President Joe Biden has previously said the US will "defend every inch of NATO territory" and has moved American troops into the region.

They are but even the most brain dead putinista has got to be realising it can't be after almost six weeks of being told the Ukrainian forces have been wiped out, yet the fighting still goes on and large numbers of dead are returning daily. Not to mention abandoning all the north without achieving much.

Phaelix, you are telling me Putin plan all along was based around "holes"? Fill civilians with holes then dig large holes for them, cut heads off to make easier to fit in hole, and forcibly fill holes of their women?
    Was that his wHole Strategy?

Russia couldn't survive a war with a single US state let alone NATO. His next step would clearly be Moldova. Baltic countries is likely what Putin would want you to think so you will appease him.

no, he wouldn't. but he is playing at the MAD card to get whatever he wants. Why? I mean, look at how ill he looks and all evidence towards it. He might be terminally ill and deciding to cement his legacy.

The Baltic states by themselves could probably handle what few combat troops Russia could scrape together to invade them with. The Russians just don't have anything left available for that.

That is Russia's only deterrent. That is why they are allowed to do this right now. You know those fairly tame weapons being supplied to Ukraine holding off the invaders? Imagine Russia facing the full might of the *suppliers* with their bandit army instead. Boosh.
Hi. Might I interest you in reading the NATO treaty? Glad you asked... here it is:

Read it. Then come back and talk again about the "western war machine".

If you take out Russian gas tomorrow, you would severely cripple the German economy. Yes, we're talking shortages. Or at the very least a concerted effort of the entire EU to feed the German need for energy. All that heavy industry gobbles up Megawatts like there's no tomorrow.

So, Fortnite pledged all of its proceeds from 3/20 to 4/3 to support Ukraine with humanitarian aid through various charities.

There's no final total, but through 3/29, about 2/3 of the total stretch, they'd already raised over $100 million.
It's a bit disgusting that they make 100 million bucks in about 2 weeks...

This is horrific - Russian state media RIA Novosti published an article called What Russia should do with Ukraine. Basically an open call by the Russia state for genocide and ethnic cleansing. They aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

Interesting read by an expert on such matters - short of actually calling it a war and declaring mobilisation, Russia is pretty much tapped out of available manpower. What they have now is about all they can get. They have the gear, despite loosing 30 battalions worth already, but not the manpower. Ukraine might have the opposite concern - they have the manpower but not the gear.
