We can just change it to "United States of Asiamerica".

Then we won't have to change any of the monogrammed towels.

    Also, just for @YUPPIE...

CNN: There could be "no winners" in a nuclear war, Russia's foreign minister says
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said a nuclear war must never be launched as there could be "no winners," and he urged countries to adhere to this in an interview with the Dubai-headquartered news outlet Al Arabiya Friday.

Lavrov added that Russia had "been champions of making pledges by all countries never to start a nuclear war."

When asked if the Russian army wants full control of Donbas and southern Ukraine to provide a land corridor to Crimea, Lavrov said, "the military means to achieve (Russia's) goals is not for me to discuss" and said he deferred from discussion on "speculation."

Lavrov also did not confirm, when asked, whether operations in the Donbas would end by May 9, Russia's annual Victory Day, which some analysts and US officials have suggested could be a target date for Russian President Vladimir Putin to declare a victory, instead saying: "They will be completed when the goals I just described to you have been implemented, have been achieved."

Lavrov also downplayed the pressure of sanctions from Western governments on Russia.

"They don’t know history. Russia always had sanctions. This latest outrage and the wave of sanctions have shown the real face of the West … to believe this it will make Russia cry uncle and to beg for being pardoned … they don’t know anything about foreign policy of Russia or how to deal with Russia," he said.

Maybe they realized the "blow up everything" narrative wasn't playing too well inside of Russia.

I'm curious what the... intent... of this graphic is, assuming it was indeed pushed by China.

Is it to eventually make its way out to scare Russians into thinking they have to fight or this will happen to them? (In which case, why show China as someone who's going to absorb their land?) Is it for the Chinese people to... I dunno, solidify the notion that China will stand to benefit from this Russia situation, no matter the case?

Again, if this is real... it really seems like China aint exactly on Russia's side, here. Which I know they're really not, but Russia certainly would like to think they are, at least in spirit. But putting out a "were Russia to fail, this is how much land of their were going to take" doesn't really seem like a real buddy-buddy move.

The only "Not-strictly anti-Russia" more conventional propaganda line for this graphic is to scare the people of China into thinking "hey, if Russia falls, the US is going to be on our doorstep... but don't get it twisted, cuz China will still have gained stuff too." Even then, though, the "cutting up Russia" slight to Russia itself still stands.

China giving the US all that oil in Kamchatka? Interesting.

Might be China’s way of scaring Russia into backing down basically saying that they can still back out and stay whole but if they keep pushing and provoke a real response that there won’t be a Russia left at the end.

    Per The Guardian:
Russia’s foreign minister doubled down on his assertions against the west, claiming “the sooner” the west comes to terms with “new geopolitical realities” the better it will be for itself and the international community.

"Today we are not talking about a new ‘cold war’, but, as I have already noted, about the persistent desire of Washington and its satellites, who imagine themselves to be ‘arbiters of the fate of mankind’, to impose an American-centric model of the world order.

"It has gotten to the point that the western minority is trying to replace the UN-centric architecture and international law formed after the Second World War with their own ‘rule-based order’. These rules are written by Washington and its allies themselves and then imposed on the international community as binding."

Lavrov continued to argue that those “who pursue an independent course in domestic and foreign policy” are suppressed by the west “by the most brutal methods”.

"Obviously, the attempts of the ‘collective west’ to impede the natural course of history, to solve their problems at the expense of others, are doomed. Today’s world has several decision-making centres, it is multipolar. We see how the states of Asia, Africa and Latin America are developing dynamically. Everyone has a real freedom of choice, including ways of development and participation in integration projects.

"Our special military operation in Ukraine also contributes to the process of freeing the world from the neo-colonial oppression of the west, heavily mixed with racism and an exclusiveness complex.

"The sooner the West comes to terms with the new geopolitical realities, the better it will be for itself and for the entire international community."

Now, I know China is in it for itself, but this seems like a signal to Russia: "you're on your own bud, we'll pick up the shards.", I mean the Chinese state television wouldn't publish something like this without permission from above, no?

China has pretty much been "you're on your own, bud" with Russia since the start of this shitshow.

It didn't get attention it deserved, but USA is officially calling it Lend-Lease now. Last time such term was used for aid to countries fighting Nazis in WW2. Think about it. Also it's increased by $30 billion apparently, so Ukrainian military spending this year will exceed their entire GDP.

Yo wazzup, come back, a month has passed. You didn't explain then how it was supposed to end in 3 months. Do you still think so? If not, when will the draftees be used? What are your sources saying about progress in Donbass arc? Do you think Russia will declare war on Ukraine or will continue as is?

When Lavrov sounds almost reasonable I take note, even if he goes back to drivel later. I think he's trying to signal that if it's up to him the nukes stay where they are and that's for the best.

Yeah, but staying out of it and publishing how to divide Russia are two different things. I mean I'm not surprised and I can totally see China make a play for those areas soon and if that happens, the west won't lift a finger to help Russia. (obviously)

He assumed that the Russians would be so swift and so efficient, that Ukraine would be so impotent and so ready surrender, and that the rest of the world would be so apathetic, that the only course of action would be for Ukraine to forfeit to whatever Russia wanted because there was no other route for them.

Luckily, none of those things bore out. He hasn't been around here in some time; I think he dipped right before the really bad war crimes stuff started surfacing.

The last thing I clearly remember him posting was about how that until there was independent verification about the bodies in Bucha...we shouldn't just assume Russia committed war crimes. He peaced out right after that.
