You are openly trying to destroy Russian economy; of course in response Russia has to restrict exports to ensure security of food supply and keep internal prices low.

If you wouldn't enact those severe sanctions Russia would happily keep exporting food and rely on CBR reserves to survive downturn.

No, Russia is trying to destroy the Russian economy by its own actions. Actions have consequences. If you want to attack someone else unprovoked, do not be surprised if someone punches you in the face, or worse, for doing so.

If you cannot handle that, then it would be prudent to stay at home.

Yea, you got that right. Insane measures like invading another country. Like indiscriminately raping, torturing and murdering women and children. Jihadi style executing tied up civilians.

Stop being rabid animals maybe, how's that?

You are destroying world economy, not Russian. Russian economy will survive just fine.

If you cannot handle that, then it would be prudent to stay at home.
We actually can handle it - you can see it on rouble exchange rate graph; but many countries in the world are a lot more vulnerable as result of your actions.

Russia creates problem - blames it on others - russia collapses- russia rebuilds - repeat the cycle

The USSR said this during the cold war. Tell where the USSR is at anymore? The US might be having problems but it is still around.

EDIT: Thing about currencies that unless someone else wants it, it is worthless. How many countries actually want the rouble vs the dollar/british pound/etc.

I'm sure Europe will also rebuild after collapse. US will love another Marshall plan and to sell their overpriced LNG in place of Russian gas.

It's still sad to watch it stumble toward collapse as result of their own actions though.

No one will be collapsing except russia. Keep taking that copium. Put it on your turnips.
Your country will be an isolated dirt poor crapper for the next few decades. This is the price to pay. Maybe it will be a time for introspection in russia (I doubt it).

"Strengthening" in that it might go back to pre war levels. I don't remember Biden ever saying that, but that sounds like it will happen with each new sanction. Your pay may just allow you to ride the bus again.

There were many choices and you've chosen to set entire "global world" you've built in last decades on fire so that Russia gets singed.
Even by your standards that is thoroughly dishonest. It was Russia's choice to disrupt world trade by invading a sovereign nation, the fact that Russia underestimated the response and hoped that Europe would sit back and do nothing, as they had with Russia's previous transgressions, is down to Russia and no other nation.

The best choice would have been for Russia to stay at home.

Utter nonsense. The EU will continue to pour Euros into Russia for oil and gas for the time being but this will come to end and will come to more premature end now that Russia has decided to commit war crimes on a sovereign nation. Whilst European leaders may be squeamish about rising energy costs, the more reports and images of the atrocities carried out by Russia come out of Ukraine the more pressure they come under from their electorates to cast you adrift.

How? Most of the Russian population doesn't have a pot to piss in. The Russian economy is heavily reliant on energy that the majority of the world is moving away from and due to Russian actions the rest of the world doesn't really want to have anything to do with them.

But let's be honest, any recovery - if it happens - will only find its way into the pockets of a few powerful individuals.

Reality is that EU goes from rich to slightly less rich while Russia goes from gdp per capita smaller than Romania before the war to slightly better standards of living than North Korea in long term.

They'll make 7-11 the 6th largest military in the world in the process too

If Pepsi, or some other company, could own that kind of shit then so can 7-11. Turn an anti-air missile into a Slurpee dispenser.

Russia will meet a wall. More nations will join NATO and... oops there aren't many left anyway. Eventually they''ll be faced with the question: do we want to attack a NATO country? Because there'll be no others left at their borders.

Let's be honest there, Shillker (and other Russian lovers) keeps getting banned all the time.

Clearly the lesson here is that if you are being assaulted, you should just lay back and let it happen.

Being someone who clearly cares about world economy, don't you think invading a country that is also tied to said economy is extremly disruptive? You know, destroying fields that supplied multiple countries with grain, bombarding cities tied to local steel production?

Orders of magnitude more, in fact, than economical sanctions that can be revoked if the sanctioned country would choose to make a slightiest move towards trying to stop this carnage.

Unless your answer would be "we can kill them all and take over their economy, and everything will be fine, why the long faces", in that case there's not much of a conversation to be had.
