"The Way of Kings" and "Words of Radiance" by Brandon Sanderson. Both are good. I want to write essay about the author. Hope with a little help of pro writers from essayshark.com I finish my essay faster and at high level. Useful service for grammar check and proofreading. I think such services are great option for students.

Audiobooks for me, finished the Sylvanas book, which was quite good, honestly. Now hunting for new ones.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

    Bloody Rose
    https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...65-bloody-rose

this is the second book in the band series, kings of the wild was the first and im starting bloody rose this evening

the first book was very good, it isnt as deep as a lot (most) fantasy books ive read but that was actually a really nice change of pace.

theres quite a bit of comedy in there and i think bloody rose is about the person they saved last book, really looking forward to it.

I got a new Kindle for mother's day. So I have been relaxing in the evening by reading horror and pulp action/adventure.

To that end, I just tore through a Warhammer 40k book called, Spear of Emperor.

It was fucking awesome! *chef's kiss*

I finished "The Redemption of Time" which apparently was posted as fan fiction the three body problem, and cixin liu who seems a cool dude, was ok with it being publicized. He also doesn't seems to get care about the coming show, he is like the opposite of the tolkien estate..

It has...it's moments...but this is like a manga, about god n the devil computated, and MCU like super-super heroes...time travel, this is like...throwing every wild idea into the mix...

I wouldn't read it again...it is too far out...universes, the super-membrane that the universes rest on. etc...

Currently reading Rendezvous with Rama, started good, ok I get it, it's old sci fi book from the 70s, but still, it feels so freaking stupid that they navigate that giant tube alien craft that is the size of many kilometers across..and they behave like...like...mountaineers...yeah................................ god almighty...they don't fly around, I don't demand they use drones, since prob not many thought of such things in the 70s but still...the story is supposed to transpire next century n they move around by walking n climbing..I hope the book becomes better, but its annoying they spend all that time struggling like they are from the 19th century or something..

40K The Twice Dead King, very good 2 novel serie with a third one coming too for some necron lore.

Great intro and starts with a massive ork fleet invading their system but it's soon revealed that they are trying to get away from a unstoppable imperium crusade fleet just slaughtering everything in their path.

Story is following a exiled Necron royal named Oltyx of a weakened Dynasty and it's survival. Also have some good flayed ones lore in there.

Pretty much the cover summery so no need for spoiler.

It's abit more serious take on necrons then the Infinite and the divine novel.

Finished Rendevouz with Rama, god...what a terrible ending 'subvert ur expectations"...
That space dildo just heads to the sun to fuel up n flies away out into space again, no sentient life is ever encountered, neither living nor dead...
They just waste their time (it's 22nd century) to move about 19th century style, mountaineering n hiking...finally somebody starts flying n its a glider that breaks if somebody farts on it...

All we get to see is rama machinery that is like giant pc motherboards that create biomechanical maintenance bots that run around and....and... do basic maintenance, cleaning n polishing mostly n then its all over humans have to leave cuz Rama will get too hot as it flies towards the sun.

    The End.

The encounter was about alien janitor-bots.../facepalm

His other book, do androids dream of electric sheep was crap too...oh, his imagination is important to sci fi, but his story-telling is boring af

Dune Denis wants to make a rama movie, god, I hope not, there's nothing exciting he could do with it, he should go re-start alien franchise or something, instead

Objects: Nothing out of the Ordinary

It was alright. A little familiar and it reads more like the dude is defending his position rather than informing or presenting a new one. Basically, he is phenomenon conservative. Though I thought it was pretty interesting that he gets inclusive about certain which are biological or organic but not geometrical.

Finished the Book of the Ice series by Mark Lawrence and was pretty disappointed. It wasn't terrible, but having read and enjoyed both Book of the Ancestor and Red Queen's War It was a let down.

Rama was written by Arthur C. Clarke, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep was written by Philip K Dick. They are two different people. I am not trying to say your criticism are invalid or anything, just wanted to point that out.

I have yet to read Rama as I have heard it is kinda boring. I did enjoy Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep though, for what it is. If you go in expecting Blade Runner, they you are probably going to be disappointed.

Dust of dreams - book nine of malazan book of the fallen.

Really enjoyed it, there were a few harsh bits that he seemed to enjoy a little too much that he hasn't in other books, example being the hobbling, I just felt that I understood what was going on, I didn't need the detail, repeatedly. Maybe he'd read game of thrones just before that chapter or something because it Was more like one of those books than a malazan.

Good overall though, I think maybe because he needed to split his one 2k page book into two, some plots were brought forward and ended early, could be wrong there

For me on the 23rd Vol.3 of "The Hero Laughs While Walking the Path of Vengeance a Second Time" comes out and I will probably finish up the last 1/4 of Vol.2 on Monday. Vol 2 stops in a really awkward place imo, it just seems like Vol.2 would have been too short even for a light novel if they ended where it should have so they took about the first 15 to 20% of Vol. 3 and added it to Vol 2. I have read up to Vol. 8 of the web novel translation but as soon as Yen Press licensed it for the US about 2 or 3 years ago the translation stopped.

This is a very well done tale of revenge about a Hero who saves the world from the Demon Lord, only for all of his allies to then turn on him the instant he does it. All for there own reasons, but I think the worst of all was the Princess who summoned him, who he thought was his friend in ally, turning out to not even have considered him to be human in the first place because he came from a different world. Oh and don't get me started on the fucked up magic needed to summon him in the first place. That any human would do that to another being is just heinous, even worse she tells him there is a way back to earth, which there is you just have to pay the exact same price coming to go back.

The concept that first hooked on this series was that after the Hero is caught and killed, it turns out the Goddess of Earth has been giving people from Earth that are summoned elsewhere the ability to die once in their new worlds, because the worlds Earthlings get summoned to are so violent a lot of them were just dying in the first few days to weeks after being summoned. So her gift is being able to die once and calling it a "tutorial", and they get rolled back to when they were first summoned with their skills being saved and unlockable with exp they earn on the 2nd go around. She just never figured someone would actually survive for years, and it is hilarious reading about the system kinda freaking out on what to do about this guy who is diety-esque powerful.

People might just think this is another Redo of Healer, but 1 this came out before Redo, and to the varied reasons for betrayal actually make a lot more sense, xenophobia, greed, a couple of different kinds of obsession, and the kicker saving the world because the gods themselves are fucked up for putting in the "Hero/Demon Lord" concept into the world.

Also unlike Redo of Healer the main way of retribution/revenge is not sexual, instead it is taking what these horrible people desire most and then breaking them with it/robbing them of it.

Haven't gotten to a bookstore lately to browse for some new books to read so will probably do a reread of the Dresden Files soon, had the craving since I didn't do a reread before the last two books were dropped.

Finished Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, which I felt was very good if not a bit rushed at the end (a common complaint from me with novels). Jeffery is an excellent author IMO.

Currently reading Seveneves by Neal Stephenson, which is good so far. Reamde started off great, and got pretty stupid, hopefully this is better. Might put this on hiatus and read Gone Girl before the nice hammock weather ends in the northeast.

Re-re-re-read the Fire Caste (Thunderground) by Peter Fehervari.
Quite literally one of if not THE best best warhammer 40k book, that's perfectly readable outside the wh40k universe.
The horror, the intricity, the chaos, the mesmerizing degradation and struggle, the beautifully horrible duailty of pain and penance in search of nonexistant and unreachable absolution. It's that good and or bad. And it's only the first step inside the Dark Coil.

The Thunderground is a secret place waiting inside every one of us,’ Iverson said. ‘It’s the needle in the eye in of the storm that’s life, the testing point that’ll make or break you in the God-Emperor’s eyes. You’ll only walk it once, but that walk will be forever. There’s no turning back and no second chances so you’d better walk with fire in your heart and steel in your spine
