The class identity thing is a completely seperate point. This is solely about the "i leveled a healer and now i'd like to try something else" argument.

Being a healer/tank in the open world is doable, even advantageous in niche situations, but in far most situations its annoying and slow.

That is what making me think that this leak is fake/a lucky guess, aswell. I mean i they gave you lots more talents to choose from, so you can be heal/tank and to trade in som important/big tank/heal mechanics/spells gainst some DPS Spells/mechanics... ok. But in the end this sounds still weird/awful and the DPS Mechanisc/Rotaion would be simple/boring, for sure. Like Fistweaver Monks, that just Spam AE Heal and then using his 3 DPS Spells in a pretty boring way.

Classskins for just 4 Classes sounds bad aswell. So most of your Playerbase dont get anthing, while some few get something. Im not a fan. Give everyone Classskins or dont implement them at all.

I wouldn't take this seriously just because it got the name right. There were dozens of leaks and they tried pretty much every possible variation on a dragon related name. One was bound to get it right.

I don't even want new specs or classes, they have enough work to do for the existing specs. The "class skin" thing sounds interesting but then it's already way over the line with the "Warden DH". I also don't buy the lvl 60 part. It's true that leveling was pointless in BFA and SL because you didn't unlock new talents but at the same time it's been too much of a core expansion feature to drop it completely. I give this leak a solid 1.5% chance of being real.

Dalaran being reused again gives this credibility. Capital hubs are expensive and Blizzard is in dire straits so that's the easiest budget cut. I don't like it. But it's realistic.

I couldn't agree more here. If they think hard enough they could come up with a cool class skin for everyone. Also Void-themed Paladins when?

Blizzard has plenty of money - they are not in financial trouble. I have no idea what makes you think that.

Money doesn't buy talent, there's been an exodus since Warlords of Draenor.

There are still issues with that when dealing with lore, races availability, and overall customization control.

Like if Tinker is Hunter spec, then were totally open to having Tauren and Hightmountain Tinkers? Dragon Knight is Warrior spec, so it's totally open to Gnomes? I'm not sure if Blizzard is gonna plan for any of these microclasses to be race specific, but keeping it limited would help with any potential customization. Like the Tinker is gonna have mechs, they could more easily plan on the size and look of the mechs if they tailor it to specific races rather than just make a generic mech that even Highmountain would be using just because it happens to be a Hunter spec.

I'm sure there is an internal tool that allows them to limit specs to certain races. Example being, aren't gnomes the only races that can use mecha pets? A technical problem seems like a small hoop to jump through vs running up a whole spec with all its own abilities and trees that would need pretty much all the attention a full class would need.

Granted this is all conjecture on what makes the most sense, if these things are even coming how we imagine. They might just do a class skin which would mean it's a veneer.
I think OP just got the name right, the rest of the leak seems improbable.

Yeah just like when 50% of all leaks pre SL were called "Shadowlands" and they got everything wrong besides the name.

no leveling would such a killer for me, I've been clearing a backlog of games since SL just isn't good to me at all, but want to catch up on the story however if it's another squish to 50 and go to 60 or no levels I just don't know... The micro classes sound like either an idea from a brainstorming session or they think it's a way to get people playing alts and thus more time logged in overall. Class skins I can see being only a few classes now to test the idea and more over time, like allied races almost.

I agree. But maybe only 4 skins are ready yet and thus described in the leak, while others are to follow until the expansion launches next year.

I am sure more skins will come eventually but realistically class skins for all existing classes is too much work to do at once.

They are still in luck that they are the biggest on the MMORPG market. Even to this day there are plenty who are returning.
I do hope "Dragonflight" will bring us a fresh new WoW like Mists of Pandaria quality and that people actually are positive instead of negative towards the game.

What? As a shaman main, this is a huge turn off.

I guess it's probably based off the idea that Thrall was helping the other Dragon Aspects to form the Dragon Soul... I mean I get that he is (or WAS) the Aspect of Earth as a stand in for Deathwing/Neltharion... but that is still a stretch of the imagination.

Just seems so out of left field --- probably because alliance don't have anything like Shadow Hunter/Spirit Walker to skin shaman into.
