I know this one! The answer is "too many".

(I do love training camp and preseason though, it's a nice tone setter for the season to get in the mood. A taster.)

I don't usually pay too much attention to training camp and preseason, but this year is different, I'm ready for some Dan Campbell hard knocks madness.

Baker Mayfield to the Panthers, after giving up some salary that he can earn back in incentives, and the Browns paying part of his salary too, just to make him go away. Costs the Panthers a conditional 5th rounder, aka nothing.

Panthers probably aren't a team in the Seahawks' category, where Baker turns them into at least a wild card contender. But Baker should solidify a position that the Panthers were one more whiffed trade away from a house cleaning on.

Guess we know that Watson won't serve a full season suspension.

Also note on his salary. The Browns are still on the hook to pay 10 mil of it, Carolina only 5 mil.

Cleveland paying the Panthers QB twice as much as they are.

Also Cleveland plays the Panthers week 1. Should be fun.

We play on Thursday night so I know what I'm watching Sunday.

Good shout for the early game, I've got Raiders @ Chargers in the late slot.

I figure we're gonna see more 5th year options get declined after this Mayfield/Darnold debacle. Of course Darnold's never should've been picked up.

They're gonna keep getting picked up, guarantee it.

Because teams will convince themselves that "they'll break out in year 4 and we don't want to have to pay them a mega-deal a year early." Frankly the fact it can be declined at all feels like a dinosaur when QBs are concerned.

I doubt the length (or knowing the NFL, lack of) suspension had anything to do with Mayfield being traded. He wasn't going to play for them again.

What is probably does mean is the Seahawks are fine with Geno Smith starting for them this year.

This is also the opposite of what the Panthers did last season. They were paying for Bridgewater to practice his check downs in Denver last year. This one might work out better.

Darnold was somehow even worse as a Panther than he was as a Jet.

I have to think Mayfield is the starter.

Can't understand how Darnold failed so spectacularly. I guess he really did see ghosts that one time, and it put the fear of God in him or something.

I don't think it can be overstated how badly Darnold has failed at the professional level.

Baker is somewhat serviceable, by comparison he's decent.

Darnold's ceiling is Mayfield's floor which is more an indictment of Darnold than praise of Mayfield.

One QB won a playoff game.

The other got them a top 10 pick last year.

    It's not a contest.
