Falcons won't play the Bucs in Atlanta till Week 18 though, so it;s very likely Julio is on IR by then. That week 5 match up in Tampa though...that's going to suck.
He'll be on the IR by week 5.

"#NFL’s appeal of Deshaun Watson sanctions from multiple sources:

1 year indefinite suspension + treatment. No $ fine.

    Or

IF suspension is less than 1 year, it will carry a significant $ fine + treatment. Unanswered questions: How many games & what is the corresponding fine?"

    https://twitter.com/CharlesRobinson/...69729198063618

If this is what the NFL is pushing for, then consider me positively surprised. Pushing for treatment for this obvious terrible behaviour is a step I did not expect. Let's hope it;s something they hang over his head too. Either get better through treatement or there's no place for you in the league.

We expect drunk drivers and unsafe drivers to take courses and they have treatment for anger issues, so I don'rt see how this wouldn;t be something they can demand he goes through a treatment plan for (and IMPROVES).

Did not expect this at all, but this would be a huge good step, especially if this is how they are going to do these cases going forward too. Set a precedent that is worth breaking precedent for.

Make him the precedent. It could be a savvy move, tbh. They've skirted and skimped on punishments in this space for so long that they probably had similar misgivings that the judge did about throwing the book at Watson. Now that a neutral third party has skimped, and justice has been subverted by another party, the NFL can sit up and say "No more," and throw everything at him.

Of course, they could have started with Ray Rice and avoided all this.

Yeah the only reason Watson now needs to be made an example of is because for years now they've swept these cases under the rug and made "maybe 3 games" the standard.

Now they have to drop the hammer on Watson themselves because of their past failures, no judge in the future can be allowed to say "I have to go with 6 games because I won't change NFL precedence."

    Hall of Fame game tonight.

To my knowledge we've zero Jags fans, so I'll probably be the only person here bothering to watch any of it.

I'll let you know how the opening drive went, because after that I'll probably stop too.

    - - - Updated - - -

I'm shocked that Josh Jacobs is starting.

I'm more shocked that he's in for more than one drive.

I'm not shocked that Brandon Parker is still fucking terrible.

peak pre-season punditry, Chris Simms actually said on a live, nationally televised broadcast, that Zach Wilson is the QB he expects to take a Burrow-esque leap this year.

We used to be a country. This kind of profanity and filth shouldn't be allowed on television. Think of the children.

All four Raiders RBs in action tonight.

Drake gets injured immediately, because of course he does.

    I watched most of that.

From now till after the Superbowl there's a NFL or College game every single week.

    FOOTBALL SEASON BABY.

I stuck around long enough to see Walker get a roughing the passer penalty, so basically just the first play.

You missed the refs in preseason moment where they missed an obvious helmet to helmet and had a call overturned by a challenge flag.

Overall I was impressed with our first outing. Stidham has taken that backup spot behind Carr, the running back committee all look dangerous and I liked the playcalling.

Brandon Parker is a liability, and the rest of the Oline doesn't look much better.

Watching Hard Knocks, slightly bummed that half these coaches were with the Saints. Wish we still had 'em, especially with Payton gone.

RB James White just retired. He sustained a hip injury last season, and was still walking with a gait as short as a few weeks ago, even though he was on the roster for the Patriots.

    Now calling it quits.

We'll have this game and this play forever though.

Robbed of the Super Bowl mvp that game. I love Brady, but James White is what got the offense started in that come back and also ended the game. One of the best super bowl performances we will ever see from a guy most people still don’t know outside of New England

Idk, falcons having to switch to zone after becoming too tired for man coverage had a lot to do with the offense resurrection.

I'm begging any other preseason game to start soon and save me from watching Goff vs Mariota.

It's some real sicko shit to watch Lions vs. Falcons pre-season....

...it me. I am that sicko. I just watched Desmond Ritter throw a pass.

Watson is off to a good start.

Not sure why he is even playing when to begin with. Would be a shame if he got hurt before his vacation.

Swapped to the Browns/Jags game to watch Watson have a stinker of a first drive, and a disaster of a second one.

    This is delicious.

    - - - Updated - - -

Jesus, his third drive was even worse. He looks terrible.

    Swapped to Jets/Eagles

    - - - Updated - - -

Wentz looks competent. Zach Wilson has not improved at all, and ended the first quarter injuring himself diving for a 7 yard scramble in midfield that was 3 yards short of the first down marker.

Jets best hope their defence gels. It'll do a lot of carrying this year.

Looked like he hurt himself trying to make a cut before diving. Probably not a good sign.
