"Deshaun Watson has decided he wants to play for the Cleveland Browns in a stunning change of events, per sources. Watson has informed the Houston Texans that he now is willing to waive the no-trade clause in his contract to be dealt to Cleveland."

    LOLWUT.

I will now guess Baker goes to the Jests or Fish.

    Seahawks or Indy more likely.
Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.

CLEVELAND OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A STEEL CHAIR!

Rapsheet reporting Mayfield is not in the deal either, so he's now officially on the market.

Guess the Browns know he won't be suspended?

Not sure how someone that just missed a year for off the field reasons gets a fully guaranteed contract.

It's Cleveland, bad QB decisions are their specialty at the end of the day.

They just alienated the guy that broke their 18 year playoff drought so bad he demanded a trade and forced the Browns to double down on Watson, after all.

Terms are in, three firsts, a third, and a fourth for Watson and a fifth.

JuJu Smith-Schuster to the Chiefs. Once again, they prove the salary cap is fake.

Also saw the Seahawks want to get a veteran starting QB. Maybe they finally watched Drew Lock's NFL tape.

In the same offseason that Christian Kirk signed a $21 or 18 or whatever it was mill deal, Juju signed a 1 year $10.75 mill contract. I don't even want to try to understand that one.

Best case scenario, he isn't in our division.

It's enshrined in the holy book.

The AFC North needs to have at least one QB on an active roster that's a sexual predator. The gods acted swiftly to restore the balance after Big Ben retired.

Seriously, how the fuck do you afford Watson, Cooper. and Garrett?

Something's got to give. Cutting Baker still puts them 4 mill over the cap.

4 mil over is easy if they can do some new deals for guys. Or just cut some guys.

The Saints and Packers were able to get under from like 40 mil over.

New details regarding this: The Browns have basically done a new deal with Watson instead of extending him. Part of the new deal? His 2022 base salary is $1m. So if he gets suspended this year, he loses about $55k a game. Under the old Texans contract (which he hasn't played a snap of since being extended in 2020), his base salary was $35m for this year, and he would have lost nearly $2m a game for however many games he was suspended.

    Truly a fucking scumbag move.

Such a weird thing though, wouldn't the NFC just be easier to go there and win? Brady EVENTUALLY will be gone, Rodgers and the Packers never get the deal done. Think the Rams are going to be as determined to win it again after doing it once? Like what is left? Wilson is gone, Cardinals fold in the latter half of the season.

But the AFC? Good Lord they are in young QB heaven right now and it is going to be hell to win in the playoffs. Good luck buddy, you're not going to 'save' Cleveland.

Indeed, make sure he gets his money and a 'who gives a fuck about those civil lawsuits' messages because they gotta win for Cleveland! vibes.

That level of contract fuckery should be investigated by the league.

Now to wonder who the Saints will target, Jameis? Baker? Jimmy?

In the end I won't mind who it is too much since way less would be traded away than for Watson, and it will be nice to have a Championship team that doesn't include a serial rapist next time.

Yeah, that one still stings, Sharper was a world class PoS.

At this point I don't want Baker, would have to give up stuff to get him and I don't think he's good enough anyways. I'd say run it back with Jameis if the price is cheap and either draft a project or just wait til next year. Garoppolo wouldn't be a bad plan either, but need a solid backup because the injury bug is strong with him.

Almost immediately I've seen insider folks saying Winston is likely re-signing with the Saints now.

Which leaves us basically down to the Texans, Seahawks, Colts, and Panthers that still need a starter for next year.

Gimme, uh, Mayfield to the Seahawks and Jimmy G to the Colts. Panthers draft the first QB off the board at 9. Texans suck and one and done another minority coach.

I don’t see jimmy leaving sf. It’s one of those relationships of convenience. Though I learned shanahan wanted stafford bad, but was an hour behind his release and was so salty mcvay ended up with him.
