It wasn't between two people, between two people would have been inviting Rock out back or taking the opportunity to assault him at another opportunity. Will Smith committed a crime in front of the world and there are only two minds about it, those that are giving him a pass and think it's ok and those who aren't regardless to their backgrounds political or otherwise.

Even Will Smith himself now claims to acknowledge this. There should be consequences, period.

NO! I won't get over it, this kind of bullshit behavior is inexcusable, enough cowards especially those in attendance got over it, everyone else is demanding accountability and they should. If Will Smith isn't punished, advertisers should pull their support and anybody with any kind of sense should dumb this garbage fire.

you won't get over this the same way you will never get over Roman Polanski drugging and raping a 13 year old and still got an award the year he fled the country to avoid going to jail for it. please spare me from your fake outrage.

Chris Rock refused to file a police report.

The Academy is looking at disciplinary options.

It's got nothing at all to do with you.

Again two completely different situations that don't have a damn thing to do with the event that happened on Sunday, you are pushing pure nonsense because you FEEL what Will Smith did was OK. It wasn't regardless to past perceived wrongs.

Roman Polanski was alleged to have committed a crime that didn't happen at the Oscars. Will Smith committed a fucking crime of violence in front of 15 million witnesses

Bullshit, it was put on TV so it has to do with everyone who watched, Not shit the Academy is looking into, and if they do nothing they should be boycotted again, as for the police well that's up to the voters.

No, it really does have anything to do with anyone that watched. It's between Chris and Will. You are neither of those people.

as for the police well that's up to the voters.
The fuck does that even mean? What do "the voters" have to do with any of this?

Alleged? You defending a man who drugged and raped a minor so he fled the country wasn’t on my bingo card but here we are. Will have to keep your absolute monstrousness in mind going forward.

No it did which is exactly what was in Will Smiths Apology, you're basically making up anything to justify this. Chris Rock not pressing charges makes no different domestic violence often goes without the abused pressing charges too, which is why it isn't and shouldn't be up to Chris Rock.

You Don't know why he didn't press charges.

As for Voters, if the Police refuse to hold celebrities to the same penalties when they break the law as everyone else, well then that's up to the voters to accept.

It has not been brought to court, it didn't happen at the Oscars, people accused of a crime can sue for liability this isn't about Roman Polanski, this is about committing a fucking crime on national TV.

What consequences are you talking about? Punishment should mainly be used for people who won't apologize and don't want to improve going forward. Which doesn't apply to the people in this scenario.

NO! this is about your selective outrage. it's obvious this is a crusade for you to cancel a guy who slapped another guy over a joke made at his wife's expense, and then shrugging your shoulders when an actual and much more egregious crime goes completely unpunished, and in fact in this instance, rewarded. HE PLED GUILTY TO IT, HE SAID HE DRUGGED AND RAPED A GIRL, IN COURT.

    it's super gross dude.

People could stand to educate themselves on the Polanski case before commenting on it or brandishing him as a weapon.

No, it is not for those that won't apologies, criminal acts are punished because we have laws we all agree to abide by. I have already said what I think the punishment should be, but I am not a judged and I am not the academy. There should be punishment.
