Maybe we don't need to post every staff change as news?

Like the one today with the divirisity and inclusion officer...for reasons it ends up bringing the worst out of people, the thread devolves into a really nasty fight y'all end up banning 10 people and the thread has to get closed in a week.

All this over something that isn't going to affect the game in any noticable manner but give the wow doomsayers more ammo in their "another reason the game is dying" bag and give the more colorful people on this forum a reason to spew their nonsense

Alternatively, post these kinds of articles MORE, have the scum come crawling out of the woodwork, ban them with great justice

Agreed. None of this shit should matter to players.

If it doesn't matter then just don't read it. Clearly its impactful if people want it censored.

Maybe users should not be so childish that somehow something going on employee wise at blizzard is a reason to get that axe out to grind.
    #TeamLegion #UnderEarthofAzerothexpansion plz #Arathor4Alliance #TeamNoBlueHorde

You have The average MMO Champion user at an 8 I need you to drop them back down to a more realistic number like a 3

The purpose of 'news' is to drive traffic and engagement and profit off it. The Blizzard bashing bandwagon is a hot discussion topic that draws out strong opinions and high levels of engagement. If the forum was exclusive to in-game related updates and news, the front page would experience enormous news droughts given the recent cadence of content delivery over in Blizzard HQ. Plus, this DEI vision will impact the game dramatically, so its relevant context.

Possibly, but it apparently does matter as evidenced by the last year or so of people whinging about it.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

There's a simple enough solution: Post the news, turn off comments. We should post the news. We don't always need to know what people think about it especially when it's concerning a single person who is a stranger and new name to just about everyone. It's frankly disgusting when people use posts like this as a punching bag for some person they've never heard of up to that point.

It's relevant and some people care about this kind of stuff, and it is usually only posted as filler when there isn't super big news going on.

Only globals and admins can moderate the news posts, so unfortunately the reports and bad posts there get addressed a bit slower than other places. Please do report them when you see it but give us a little slack for getting to them.
