Dracthyr size

Really need to see this actually ingame - login screen size is not some absolute, it may/may not be scaled.

I do think that it will clearly be the least the size of the biggest existing character race now, but that's all I can assume. Maybe they will go as far as DH meta size, but I'm not sure about that one - imagine raid with half a dozen of those, that'd be pretty hard clutter already. Meta sort of gets a pass because it's temporary, this one, however, is permanent.

Though now that I think about it - it's ranged, so clutter less of an issue.

Yeah, that’s an interesting point. Imagine about 2-3 of these things flying around a raid strafing mobs.

While extremely cool, I could also imagine it being very distracting. Them being RDPS and healing could help with that though.

I could imagine them being a hair taller than Tauren. Since they can’t wear plate armor or ride mounts in Drakthyr forn, they could possibly be able to be slightly larger.

No, neither can Bear or Cat form.

A dracthyr on a mount would look stupid. Which is why they have visage forms.

They already look stupid, isn't riding a mount that will make that happen.

Even then, i would agre with you if they could at least fly on their own, but they can't, you are basically forced into a humanoid form to ride a flying mount, because they wasted their time designing stupid hairstyles for the stupid elf form.

Uh no, the Dracthyr can fly on Dragon Isles. It is unclear if they can fly in other zones. My money is on yes.

They can only use mounts in Visage form.

It only makes sense that they use their visage form for a ton of reasons. Honestly it would make sense for them to also turn into their visage form everytime they enter a city. I think it should be an automatic swap unlike worgen where they choose. Then give the dragon form a massive model so it doesn’t effect any doorways or anything of that nature

While that would be cool, and very lore-based, I would prefer it to be optional for Dracthyr like me who won’t GAF about running around in a city in draconic form.

So I noticed this in the Dracthyr selection screen;



Now, unless I'm mistaken, that is a VERY tall model. Here's some others for comparison;




Now this is all preliminary, and things could change in alpha/beta, but if I'm looking at this correctly, the Dracthyr form is tall as hell, with its head easily going past the background chandelier, whereas the other Alliance races, even the Draenei, aren't even close. They may be even a bit taller than a male Tauren.

What would the implications of this be if this is accurate?

While Dracthyr are definitely tall, the environment seems more zoomed in on their screen compared to the human and draenei one which gives an illusion effect on just how much taller they are.

They're definitely tall, but so far they don't look so much taller than taurens as to cause an issue with game structures etc.

As for not being able to mount, that will be a bit immersion breaking pre-flying or inna BG. Killed a player, just gonna move over to Blacksmith? Welp, pop out of your combat form to sit on a pony then pop back in.
