Twitter former employees claimed that they were only offered one-month base pay severance. Not the 3 months that Musk claimed in his tweet.

Twitter fired all of its employees in Africa and 90% of its employees in India with zero severance.

Twitter is running into problems in EU and Japan where "at-will employment" is illegal.

For comparison, here is Meta severance package.

Laid-off employees will get 16 weeks of base pay, plus two weeks for each year of service, with no cap on extra pay per year of service.

Pay for all remaining time off they have accrued.

Health insurance program for six months, covering the cost for laid-off staff and their families.

Everyone impacted will receive their November 15, 2022 vesting.

Assistance for anyone laid off who is on a company-sponsored visa.

Career support for three months, including "early access to unpublished job leads."

First dibs on any Meta job openings.

The above also applies to workers outside the US.

    The Twitter files part 2:

What the right thought it was going to be - A giant expose and several smoking guns to finally indict Biden and Democrats.

    What it was -

In all seriousness, Twitter Files Part 2 is all about how Twitter has a shadow ban and suppression system, marking certain people's tweets to suppress them. Before the Twitter Files part 2 was even released, Musk said that his system for shadow banning was going to let someone know if they were shadow banned or suppressed, the reason, and how they can appeal it. Sounds like the same system, just that Musk is going to use it against the left, but apparently it's "better" because transparency.

So after all the anticipation, the bombshell was a dud. But conservatives who were crying about """misinformation""" that letting children go out in 2020 was a bad idea are cheering that they were "right" all along. In reality, keeping people inside helped prevent the spread of Covid, but these people still think it's fake, or it's "not that bad".

"Now, Weiss has been given access to Twitter's employee systems, added to its Slack, and given a company laptop, two people familiar with her presence said.

The level of access to Twitter systems given to Weiss is typically given only to employees..."

Wow Elon is really doing some hack shit upon his previous hack shit. Basically he is giving a "journalist" yes quotes because Weiss is giving access to employee's Slack and other systems to fish for hit jobs on very obvious who Elon does not like. I don't the legality, but having a reporter fish around people's supposedly private emails, oh btw I hope Slack is never used by anyone ever again.

A great point I read through is everyone that Elon hates or perceives, has or is trying to use any sensitive information of these people and will give to anyone who can do hit jobs in the future.

    Edit: adding this

this is a great catch. Bari Weiss' Twitter Files pics all have the same watermark on them.

either she was provided a login to a specific employees account or she is physically standing over the Twitter employee told to give her this access snapping pic
    s

So Bari Weiss is getting shit for taking screen pics of a computer screen and posting them. From above, the logic here might be Elon gave her access to someone's account or likely some employee is letting her look at their account.

Once more not sure on legality here, but definitely the most vile shit ever if you every want any type of security at your workplace.

this couldn't possibly be new twitter head of trust and safety Ella Irwin (
    at/ellagirwin
) letting Bari Weiss rifle around in a backend tool that clearly says "Direct Messages" in the sidebar could it?

So this person, Tom McKay @ tweeted I guess now head of trust and safety ( this person info has no title, but looks legit) Ella Irwin and here is her respone.

Correct. For security purposes, the screenshots requested came from me so we could ensure no PII was exposed. We did not give this access to reporters and no, reporters were not accessing user DMs

So here is Ella admitting came from her, which I guess means her computer(?). Tom McKay once again asks but no reply from Ella.

Could you please explain the exact circumstances under which this whole process occurred? Who "requested" these images, what conditions did the reporters agree to? How were these specific screenshots chosen and what were they intended to illustrate? (Why are they photos?)

And thanks for the transparency Ella, really. Just for the record though could you clarify what Abigail meant by "extensive, unfiltered access" here, then? To what systems, directly or indirectly, and under what circumstances/supervision?

Her in second post McKay mentions another journalist Abigail Shrier and she says extensive above (screenshot of her tweet in link). So no feedback on who or how much access they had.

Ah who am I kidding, he probably doesn't care. His comment threads are always full of racist anti-woke assholes posting "triggered libs" memes. That's all he wanted. Validation.

What do you do when the left doesn't worship you like a god, and they still won't even with electric cars and rockets? Pander to the right. The right and the alt-right are the easiest shit heads to get validation from. Just tell them all the anti-woke stuff and they'll worship you. Trump and Musk are so incredibly similar when you look into their personality and terrible business acumen. Both are only rich because of daddy's money and are just grifters taking credit for other people's work that they "own".
Er, Musk is pretty much a self-made billionaire. In that he's quite the opposite to Trump. If you make grand speeches like this, you need to pay attention to what you say.

They're both grifters who made their money scamming people. No need to suck Musk's toes. It's also INCREDIBLY clear they both have stupidly thin skin.

His father is loaded infamously owning mines in his home country, he got a "small" loan from daddy to start his business ventures just like Trump. They have a lot of similarities though the only difference is that Elon actually succeeded but they both are trust fund babies.

At this point I have a low-key theory Elon is just big-mad everyone was making fun of him on social media and people in SF/Silicon Valley don't like him, so he's trying to burn it all down.

Twitter? Obviously, because he made a bad troll and got stuck with a $44B dumpster fire. He wants to kill that shit after he's had his fun and weaponized it to his end: Attacking broader social media and tech companies through the "revealing" how Twitter really operated.

Because it seems transparently obvious so far that this is absolutely manipulated and selective information being given to "journalists" with known biases and views so they can signal boost exactly the right message, even if that message is actively contradicted by the data they're reporting. The whole point is to impugn Twitter's prior leadership and company culture as being "irredeemably leftist/corrupted", and then take that and project it onto other tech companies. We've already seen him start doing some of that shit going after Apple, before Tim Apple invited him to the HQ, sat him down, and reminded him, "I don't care if you launch rockets into space. My name is Tim god damned Apple and if you fuck with me I will have you working the rest of your life as an 'indentured servant' in an emerald mine somewhere."

Elon's just your boring ass typical conservative nowadays, like, really boring.

breaking: twitter had secret cabal of 'managers' who would gather in 'meetings' to discuss company policy. let that sink in

Discussing company policy? Oh dear lord in heaven, that's just... actually very mundane? It's worded like I'm supposed to be outraged about it, but all I got was a yawn.

That's the point. Every "MAJOR REVELATOIN" I've seen so far is...fairly standard shit.

Their biggest claim is basically, "BUT TWITTER RESPONDED TO MORE DEMOCRATIC REQUESTS THAN REPUBLICAN REQUESTS!" framed in a way that heavily implies bias, rather than...like...you know...Republicans and conservatives spreading more misinformation which has mountains of data behind it.

Like, the Biden campaign requesting that Twitter take down nude pictures of his son, Hunter? Oh my how...absolutely legal as posting "revenge porn" without the consent of the individual (which this would be) is illegal in multiple states, including California (where Twitter is based).

It's smoothbrained conspiracy theorists thinking that after years and years of nothingberder, that finally, after all this patient waiting -

Seems Twitter is suppressing the Jack Smith story, as tweets about it are not appearing to most people unless you specifically follow a person tweeting about it.

Twitter is going to morph into a right wing propaganda machine. I hope that everyone with sense will move off of Twitter before the 2024 elections, but I'm sure plenty will still be on there.

Elon only replies to the best:

    https://twitter.com/mehdirhasan/stat...s7ZTAj7tCK41nQ

If you don't know or forgot who Lara Logan is, she was fired from Newsmax for being to crazy Qanon conspiracy tirade. So here is Elon responding to her of all people. Elon has done this so many times with other fringe right wing should be no surprise.

So here is the crazy conspiracy stuff I guess. She is ranting about child traffic and I'm sure pornography being shared on Twitter. The NY Post article which sadly I will link here, has one story of a person who definitely was let down by Twitter but the story tries to connect this into what Elon thinks Twitter was letting child porn just run rampant.

Of course this story is getting juiced on Twitter. I will not defend previous Twitter here if they were lax on child porn, but Elon and the rest are taking like next 5 steps to go from Twitter trying to police child porn to behind the scenes Twitter was cheering it on. Yet here we are with Elon trying to make this that Twitter was in bed with child pornographers.
