Twitter has become a depressing mess. It used to generally be bright, fun, funny and uplifting. My entire timeline is being flooded with political posts now - in which it's a bunch of MAGA hat profile picture people throwing hate and vitriol at anything they perceive as being "left". Nobody on the right cares about Paul Whelan, it's all political theater. Nobody cares about gas prices going down, it's all political theater.

The right wing narrative has flooded over the Twitter space. It's depressing, abrasive, abusive, toxic, insulting, and just a general mess of people who lack basic human empathy and an understanding of civics.

At this point I have a low-key theory Elon is just big-mad everyone was making fun of him on social media and people in SF/Silicon Valley don't like him, so he's trying to burn it all down.

Because it seems transparently obvious so far that this is absolutely manipulated and selective information being given to "journalists" with known biases and views so they can signal boost exactly the right message, even if that message is actively contradicted by the data they're reporting. The whole point is to impugn Twitter's prior leadership and company culture as being "irredeemably leftist/corrupted", and then take that and project it onto other tech companies. We've already seen him start doing some of that shit going after Apple, before Tim Apple invited him to the HQ, sat him down, and reminded him, "I don't care if you launch rockets into space. My name is Tim god damned Apple and if you fuck with me I will have you working the rest of your life as an 'indentured servant' in an emerald mine somewhere."

If you don't know or forgot who Lara Logan is, she was fired from Newsmax for being to crazy Qanon conspiracy tirade. So here is Elon responding to her of all people. Elon has done this so many times with other fringe right wing should be no surprise.

So here is the crazy conspiracy stuff I guess. She is ranting about child traffic and I'm sure pornography being shared on Twitter. The NY Post article which sadly I will link here, has one story of a person who definitely was let down by Twitter but the story tries to connect this into what Elon thinks Twitter was letting child porn just run rampant.

Of course this story is getting juiced on Twitter. I will not defend previous Twitter here if they were lax on child porn, but Elon and the rest are taking like next 5 steps to go from Twitter trying to police child porn to behind the scenes Twitter was cheering it on. Yet here we are with Elon trying to make this that Twitter was in bed with child pornographers.

For all these former "trust and safety council" people complaining, the only safety they provided was harboring pedophiles and child porn on their platform for who knows how long rather taking it down and working with authorities to ensure that the scumbags involved were arrested. Kinda hard to trust people who so willingly allow illegal content on their website for as long as they did. And frankly, anyone on that "council" should be thrown in front of a judge and forced to testify. Twitter is a mess, and clearly has been for a long time, but Elon sure as hell isn't making it any better.
