oh right, went to Elom's tweet and saw all the blue checkmarks from literally who's and then remembered that shit just costs $8/month now and means nothing anymore.

I haven't kept up with the "Twitter Files" because it's truly been some of the most boring, rote, routine "this is how corporations work and shit" of the millennium so far.

Literally the only salient details to come out of it so far that I've seen:

    1. Twitter had a system that both parties used to request that misinformation be taken down, and it was used by Democratic candidates more often because Republicans/conservatives spread more misinformation.

    2. Republicans think they have a First Amendment right to see Hunter Biden's penis on Twitter and they're absolutely fucking furious that Twitter won't host that sweet, delicious dick pic.

Honestly? If the truck can leverage more modern materials and design to invalidate airbags, that's a good thing. Airbags are a risky safety measure, they can easily become the SOURCE of injury rather than something that prevents it. They have their place, and in the aggregate they've done way more good than harm, but we absolutely should be looking for better solutions. And there are vehicles (like F1 racers) that are safer without than with airbags due to their design.

I will admit to a high degree of skepticism on whether they can actually deliver on safety or if it's just a bunch of gaslighting however. People in general do not like to have major changes in their seating position, and 'innovative use of materials' and 'build quality' are just vapid buzzwords. And most of the design choices I'm aware of in the cyber truck has the risk of vastly increasing the fatality rate of anyone in a car struck by one, which can raise red flags in non-US countries.

Plus, comparing a personal vehicle to a purpose-build, multi-million dollar race car is...not great. A lot of those materials and designs are super fuckin expensive and won't be remotely practical for use on roadways for a long time, and likely never will be without major changes.

Like sure, an F1 driver doesn't need an airbag. But that's because the $10M+ car with stuff like...

Roll cage that's not practical on normal vehicles
Fuel tank made from kevlar that won't be financially practical
    Custom-made headrests for the driver
    6+ point harnesses
Additional helmets worn at all times
Additional system connected to their helmets to reduce whiplash in an accident
Full body flame-resistant pads (and underwear!)

    etc. etc.

Which would drive the cost of your average car up considerably, not to mention be an engineering nightmare to figure out how to get a lot of those features/materials worked into existing designs.

Yeah, the best safety comes with cocooning and mostly imbolizing the driver.

"Could you guys also chew my big mac, then feed it into this tube?" Maybe this appeals to futurist weirdos.

The most obvious answer is; no one at Telsa has the guts to tell Elon he's being dumb with the cyber truck design.

We've seen this before. When Elon fired the safety team at Twitter, then unbans a bunch of Nazis and Sex Traffickers.

And then had to reban a few of them after personally reaching out to them to ask that they be a bit less overtly Nazi-like.

I also believe it's ineptitude of social media and how to function in it to a certain extent as a factor for not using it as much. You're talking about the fucking geniuses who couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights in the conference rooms in the WH on Trump's first week in office.

F1 cars are multimillion dollar vehicles where the pilot is darn near immobile, wears a helmet, and is harnesses to hell and back. Of course in this situation an airbag is superfluous. It also would be if everyone driving a car had those things plus a rollcage and whatnot.

The Cybertruck is likely to be an over-engineered death trap that doesn't have crumple zones because that's just liberal sissy talk/doesn't fit/is too expensive and innovation for those people means throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. Or in this case, thowing drivers at materials that are far less squishy than them thus resulting in injured/dead drivers.

Maybe in part, but not really the main reason.

We have fairly extensive data on who shared misinformation, what kind of misinformation was shared, and how often over the past half decade+ and it overwhelmingly (at least in the US) points towards conservatives as being the primary creators and spreaders of misinformation. It happens on extremes on both ends, but the size of those extremes and the amount of content they are posting aren't remotely equivalent in the slightest.

One of the big problems is that making it stronger actually increases the overall fatality rate. Rigid things just transfer the force to non-rigid things, like the driver, or the other vehicle. The US is probably the only country in the world that would consider it acceptable to respond to "Your tank killed the family in the car you hit" with "Their fault for not driving a tank too". The cyber truck is designed to be very strong, but there's a lot of very good reasons that safety boards look at things like crumple zones and other ways in which the vehicles sacrifice themselves for the life of the people in the accident.

    In other twitter news:

Andrew Tate's investigation ramps up, as Romania authorities have confiscated his cars, as well as tons of computers and hard drives where they found various "courses" being sold to young men, including tapes on how to control women by being violent with them (Choking and various other physical/mental/emotional intimidation tactics), as well as other ways to intimidate them and generally be an awful human being.

Tate fans are in full cope mode.

Yes, but not so explicitly has he ever said it publicly. And yet at the same time, all of the really deranged shit was right under the surface in his "elite" courses. His $50 tier barely gives you anything, the really violent stuff was at the thousands of dollars range, which meant no sane or non-rapist person would have ever paid for them.

He fully admitted to these crimes on video, even bragging about it, and people still think he was arrested for anything other than human trafficking and other sex related crimes.

NEW: Twitter is cutting employee benefits starting this quarter. Commuter benefits, family planning, and meal allowances are all out. Coffee and snacks are staying, per an internal email.
Wonder what kind of masochists will be left working at twitter in a year? Probably the ones whose green card depends on keeping the job.

The ones with H-1B visa. Green Card is not tied to employment. Green Card is basically the last step before citizenship. Green Card holders can apply for citizenship, or naturalization, after 5 years minus 90 days.

Huh, this can't be true. I was assured that his arrest was a sham, and that he'd be released within 24 hours. Surely his devoted followers couldn't have been wrong about something so serious.
