Silly post. Japan is Twitter's 2nd largest market. However, unlike the US, Twitter Japanese users don't talk politics. They use Twitter mostly for anime and gaming related discussion. Or silly stuff like this.
I climbed Mt.Fuji yesterday and there were people ordering Domino's pizza.
That's at least a 5-hour hike btw.
Well, Musk gets a win out of the recent chaos.
Judge says Twitter workers can't pursue group lawsuit
This sucks, but isn't a massive surprise. DE laws are so corporate-favoring that everything from chemical companies to Bill Cosby to Trump incorporate there. And, well, if the employees signed...sorry, former employees did in fact sign a contract waiving their rights, then yes, they can't sue for breaking contract if it wasn't broken.U.S. District Judge James Donato said the ex-Twitter employees, who allege the social media company did not give adequate time before their terminations, must drop their group suit.
Donato, in his decision to side with Twitter, cited agreements the former employees signed with the company, per Reuters.
So Musk gets to mass fire them and suffer no consequences. Other than destroying his property, that is.
I think we're on Twitter files 13 or something now? Meanwhile the vast majority of people stopped giving a shit after round 2 and 3 turned out to be massive nothingburgers. Musk fans continue to ask why the Twitter Files stories aren't being picked up by the media. The media collectively asks "what stories?" shrugs and goes back to covering stuff that actually happened rather than Musk's custom-tailored outrage bait.

The last few Twitter files have been about sowing doubt about vaccines, something about how the CDC and pfizer were communicating with Twitter. You know, about massive misinformation campaigns. But the Elmo fans see that as them trying to "cover up the truth".
So here we are, an entirely new anti-vaxxer movement of people who believe the covid vaccine causes spontaneous heart attacks and strokes.

Marcy Wheeler recently pointed out, in detail, how even Lone Skum's handpicked flaks have lost the plot: "Matt Taibbi Confesses He Hasn’t Read His Own Twitter Files"
"For the present this country is headed in directions which can only carry ruin to it and will create a situation here dangerous to world peace. With few exceptions, the men who are running this Government are of a mentality that you and I cannot understand. Some of them are psychopathic cases and would ordinarily be receiving treatment somewhere. Others are exalted and in a frame of mind that knows no reason."

That blog post seems to be a very long winded, "Yeah, FBI flagged some potentially rule-breaking accounts they came across to Twitter for Twitter to decide how to handle. They just have a Twitter email account to send reports to vs. using the report function."
Which like...I still don't get why that's supposed to be so scandalous but I guess this is why I'm not spending $44B on a social media platform and then driving away advertisers.
Neither do the people pushing this as illegal or unConstitutional. But they want it to be scandalous, even if it shouldn't be.
These are the same people who overlook how Twitter treated Trump with kid gloves, waiting until after he didn't just lose the election but incited a murderous insurrection before deciding to cut his mic.

In which conservatives are so used to crying victim whenever they find out they're unpopular that Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA and man with a notably tiny face, asks if Elom is suppressing the tweets of conservatives.Conservatives all over telling me their Twitter engagement is dead. More suppression?
Which is sure seems suspect given that Elom tweeted and deleted this gem the other day -
Which is hilarious because the only people who seem to even talk about Soros, much less give a shit about him, are antisemitic conservatives who blame him for everything.
Again, my theory that conservatives are incapable of being intentionally funny is proven once more. This is deeply unfunny as a joke/meme. The only funny bit is that Elom is so far down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole that he seems to be a regular poster at /r/iam14andthisisdeep
Musk lies about getting an invite to the billionaires ball
Davos is a stupid egotistical circle jerk that doesn't achieve anything but this has serious, I didn't get invited to the high school party but it sucks I didn't want to go anyway energy. The World Economic Forum says billionaire Elon Musk wasn’t on the guest list for the annual meeting of business executives, global leaders and cultural trend-setters in Davos, Switzerland — despite what the Twitter owner claims.
Musk wasn’t there, though he says he was invited. Forum spokesman Yann Zopf knocked that down on Tuesday, saying the last time the Tesla CEO got an invitation was “not this year and not recently — last time in 2015.”
Musk said in a tweet on December 22: “My reason for declining the Davos invitation was not because I thought they were engaged in diabolical scheming, but because it sounded boring af lol.”
Always projection.
Idk why but I'll go deep dive into this.
Maybe him projecting that the Left simps or loves Soros over Elon fandom is the same. Maybe my bubble but I never see anyone on the left champion or hold Soros on high pedestal. The projection of billionaire worship is all from the right. Shocked he didn't use the Simpson meme and just added Soros.
My goodness if this dipshit is tweeting this while thinking he is "moderate" is more funny also, but that's lost on most.
"Buh dah DEMS"
Honestly, I don't think he ever believed that shit. He's just a bog-standard lying conservative that doesn't have a spine and retreats to, "It was just a joke, bro" every time he says or does something monumentally stupid. And it's consistently unfunny, to boot.
Anytime I hear someone say "I'm a moderate/not a conservative." after dishing a handful of bog-standard Republican talking points, it's obvious they're just a Republican.
