House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., effusively praised Twitter owner Elon Musk on Wednesday, saying Musk was “being transparent” about the tech platform.

“God bless Elon Musk,” Comer said in an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” He called the controversial tycoon “a great American.”
Nevermind that Elom is secretly having Twitter ban liberal accounts.

It seems his whirlwind tour of DC, meeting exclusively with Republicans outside of a chance encounter with Minority Leader Rep. Jeffries that he dishonestly framed as a meeting, is working.

Real though, I do wonder how much of this shit they actually believe when they say it vs. how much they know is all bullshit but they just don't care because it'll really help their careers.

I wonder how this compares to the FBI sending an email and Twitter simply saying "no thanks"? Because "the CEO meets directly with lawmakers from one party" seems a lot more like government interference to me.

You know what...that does! That sounds very suspicious to me. Are Republicans coercing Elom behind the scenes? Did they force him to not host any meetings with Democrats?

WHERE ARE THE TWITTER FILES ON THIS?!

Elon could commit crimes and all we'd get is deflections and excuses. How do we know this? Because we look at every single other prominent right wing figure committing blatant crimes, and their fanbase is just cheering them on and continues to make excuses for them.

When a left winger assaults a child, they are removed from all positions of authority and it's called consequences.

When a right winger assaults a child, it is covered up, excused, victim blamed, and any attempts to see that they are held liable for their actions is labeled as "cancel culture".

That is the reality we live in. I doubt there's anything a right wing politician could do crime wise that the right's talking heads would not excuse or deny.
Last people I'd want on my side of any war is tehdung eater and elom.

If this is how you're going to start this off, I see no value in continuing to waste time on this topic short of reminding everyone else in the thread that you're deeply dishonest and divorced from reality on the topic, and to refer to our earlier exchanges for context.
Hence why I said you were being "short-sighted, intentionally blinkered in your analysis, and ignorant of the dangers involved in this" in the unquoted part of my post.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time." "So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Because there is no danger in this. The only way to spin a danger in this is to treat it as something it is not: Each email as having explicit or implicit threat by the government to enforce some sort of viewpoint or mandate some sort of action for a private business outside the regular legal realms of the courts or regulatory bodies. Which if it were, would be something that is very concerning!

But it's absolutely not that in any way, shape, or form as has been repeatedly pointed out. The only way to treat them as such is to treat almost any communication between government officials and private business as a similar threat. Which I think you'd have to agree is a pretty ridiculous proposition.

Do you know what we don't see? All the times that Republicans reached out with similar requests, because that's absolutely happened as well. As Matt Taibbi noted in his reporting: Twitter had systems to request misinformation be pulled down, and it was used by both political parties.

So I hope you're equally as concerned with the Republicans engaged in this behavior as you are with Democrats. Even if I'll continue to say that the behavior of neither party in this regard is remotely concerning to me because this is fairly standard "professional/corporation communications shit" that happens behind the scenes millions of times a day. Other behavior from Republicans relating to social media concerns me, but using a system to request misinformation be taken down or flagging Twitter accounts for review should Twitter give a shit is absolutely not something I give a shit about no matter which party the polite email comes from. Or the FBI for that matter.

So then surely there is danger with the now owner of the company meeting exclusively with republicans. or are you just a raging hypocrite?

I'm guessing deep fake at this point, it's so pathetic.

Yo, believing anything Project Veritas releases, especially in the year of our lord 2023, is absolute brainworms stuff.

It's hilarious because they've never actually been right about anything and usually end up being so incompetent their "agents" get caught, but somehow there's still people eager to slurp down that bullshit because it's their favorite flavor of bullshit.

Nope. Probably does. But like every other video, it's likely filled with selective edits and actual alterations to the audio at times to make it sounds like he's saying all kinds of scary things that aren't actually true.

Here's a brief history of their extensive dishonesty, and how the only thing that keeps this clown show around are Republicans who don't give a shit that everything PV puts out are fraudulent because it all sounds very good to them and works in their interests.

PV is essentially one of the more successful Republican-driving domestic misinformation campaigns outside of Fox News.

Ok, so are you not interested in what he says, like at all? You just focus on who is questioning him?

Of course I'm not interested. Why on earth would I give a shit about anything PV puts out when they have never actually done factual "reporting" (for when they pretent they're journalists and not spies rofl) in their career?

If the guy telling you who was going to win the match next weekend was wrong every single week for a decade, would you want to hear who he predicts will win the match next weekend with that track record? I wouldn't.

They are pathetic, yes. Last we heard, they were found to have fraudulently misrepresented themselves, specifically, claiming to be journalists. So, they said they were journalists and were fined $120,000 for lying about it.

They also lost $150,000 in another court case when they lied about Stanford University and got caught.

They're also facing other court cases involving theft, using drugs at work, and an overly sexualized workplace environment.

And that's all from 2022. If you go back further, it actually gets worse.

Project Veritas is not a reliable source of information. I'm not sure you could call them a questionable source of information.

You know how, when you enter someone else's house or a public building, you're supposed to scrape the dog shit off your shoes first? Please, in the future, do the same with Project Veritas, and for exactly the same reason.
