"Law and Order", lots of places have had that, Russia, North Korea, Saddam's Iraq.
Laws can be made to enforce order of cruelty and brutality.

NEW: Elon Musk fired a top engineer over his declining view counts.
Plus the reason the site went down yesterday, fears about an upcoming FTC audit, and more.
Another source or thee source:
https://www.platformer.news/p/elon-m...itter-engineer
“This is ridiculous,” he said, according to multiple sources with direct knowledge of the meeting. “I have more than 100 million followers, and I’m only getting tens of thousands of impressions.”
“You’re fired, you’re fired,” Musk told the engineer. (Platformer is withholding the engineer’s name in light of the harassment Musk has directed at former Twitter employees.)
Little skeptic on source but have seen people run with it. If true the ego and narcissism of these rich assholes is amazing. Guess a trait of being a rich asshole. It's great he is control of a social media company and worrying if people like him or will talk to him. Nothing could go wrong here.
"You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?’
"Why is my engagement down? It must be some kind of bug."
"It's not a bug, people just don't like you."
"YOU'RE FIRED."
Talk about a giant man baby. He fits in with the GOP perfectly.

The twitter files are published on twitter in series. I am quoting from images in the series. If you have serious doubts to my ability to read and quote from them in a thread, go search through all fifteen threads and narrow them down to just the threads detailing the FBI and intelligence community.
If you don't think anything is wrong with it, then you're repeating what I already gathered from your first conclusions after seeing the initial evidence I linked. It doesn't take much thinking to reason that the guy that considers such pressure natural and implicates nothing important also thinks further details of the pressure are also completely natural and indicative of nothing. I don't see anything here from you but repetition in the context of my response to somebody else.
I do think you have a subjective self-serving interpretation of the evidence.
Ok, so your argument is that the surveillance state is guilty of so many wrongs that this pales in comparison to it's other wrongs. Let me just say that this yields the point that their behavior was actually wrong, instead of totally innocent. I'll also say that I'm not making it my business to rank order the Mighty List of Intelligence Community Overreach Over The Last 20 Years and argue with you about position #13 and position #17 in such a list. After the revelations of Snowden and co, the American surveillance state being rather nosy is everything but surprising. In terms of overreach, sending polite emails to Twitter about disinformation and complying with their answers regardless is less than limp-wristed. If you want to count that as undue pressure and my words as an admission of grave wrongdoing, you do you boo can't stop you. But I do think you know that's not what I meant.
Yes you admit it's a problem, but are quick to classify other problems as greater. Yes, you passively yield that the FBI is warranted in correcting such a problem, but maybe you'd want your bigger problems addressed first. But no, you want to call the backlash small and half-hearted. I think Americans can quite easily grasp small actions that cross important lines, such as the government lobbying for a single social media platform to censor accounts it has chosen. It isn't whether or not Fox News is devoting enough airtime to ginning people up or whatever. It's just a solitary recognition that the FBI had no business doing it, and should be restrained from it in the future by executive leadership and congressional oversight. The backlash, also, hardly seems to exist. Even Fox News barely seems to push the story seriously. It's a big pile of mundane stuff built up as a huge scandal by people desperate for a political win.
It's also becoming patently obvious that you fixate on the FBI in particular all of a sudden, rather than previously going on about the government in general or Biden's campaign, because otherwise the narrative completely falls apart given recent events. Everything you post is about wrapping things to serve this narrative. Just like with your accusations of partisanship elsewhere, it all reeks heavily of projection when you accuse others of doing so and I'm tiring of this boring dance.
Let's call it a cumulative effect process. The public hears enough stories of the FBI asking for grandma's account to be censored over posting vaccine side effects or a joke about election day and whatnot, and starts to tilt a little more towards candidates that promise investigations and against chief executive candidates that ignore or downplay what's involved. As a reminder, I got into this issue in this thread by pointing out to someone that candidates and government agencies asking for censorship is qualitatively different than candidates asking for their accounts to be reinstated and content matter less policed (etc). This can be small potatoes in your grand view of the world. I do think it matters in informing the public and persuading minds that have a too-rosy view on law enforcement and the culture of free speech in online venues. It also matters that Americans see just who takes the harder view on it: that government should actually be in the business of policing speech for what it rules as disinformation online. It certainly matters to those that really like Biden holding the reins of government power, but will switch their views when a future Republican president appoints less liked individuals to use the same power in directions they oppose. To those people I will say, "You're Welcome" in advance.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time." "So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
Again, every tweet you've linked has not shown this. I've looked at them all, and lot of other tweets with email screenshots to get greater context. Literally none of them show what you, Taibbi, or Republicans claim it shows.
And Twitters former executives, who I believe were under oath during hearings, similarly denied those claims. Which is a lot to risk if they were under oath.
There is no pressure. You have yet to site a single implicit or explicit threat contained in any of those emails, just "those emails themselves are a threat" which is, again, complete nonsense. You haven't, and you can't, because it doesn't exist in reality.
The validity of the Twitter Files is all but completely gone up in smoke.

Jesus christ this honestly couldn't be going much worse for Republicans at this point. I assume conservative media at least latched onto a few BOMBSHELLS from a guy whose knowledge about Twitter is literally "I read the newspaper, Congressman, but this is just pathetic.
It won't matter in conservative circles, Turley is going to be doing interviews and talking as if he's literally anyone other than some dude with a Twitter account and a law degree and they'll eat that shit up.
I don't see where she did that. I do see her tweet that says
Also, just want to point out that, with both Higgins saying that in an official meeting and Ingraham agreeing, that's yet more evidence that "the election was rigged" is a mainstream Republican policy. Anyone claiming otherwise is a coward fucking pussy troll. These sanctimonious prigs at Twitter brazenly interfered in our election. And they’d still be protecting Biden if it weren’t for Elon Musk.
I love watching the strained neutrality on the faces of folks like her when they realize, "Holy shit this is what we have to fuckin work with."
I do hope they weren't expecting this crowd to be very buttoned up and/or professional, much less well planned. There's not going to be anything as slickly produced or as methodical as the Jan. 6 Committee hearings and report. Like, Ingraham can't be surprised that a guy who is stuck at 90% speed, somehow heading this Committee, is struggling to elaborate a clear, specific point or potential list of charges.
She...did watch the hearings, right?
This is basically just a really long an inefficient way of chanting, "Lock them up!" and well uh...we saw how well that ended up going.
Every time I see some mildly large Twitter account claim something like "The election was rigged and Twitter helped Joe Biden win. Just look it up it's been proven." I just imagine them sitting there reading through random twitter and tiktoks where someone makes the same claim, and that's their source.
These people aren't smart. They hear something that sounds nice to their narrative and they run with it, don't bother to source it, and then sit there slack jawed when they find out everyone knows they're stupid for believing it.

Unfortunately, it's not just them. I've seen more """news""" articles than I can count where like 3/4 the body of the page is nothing but imbedded tweets... It's getting absurd, and I don't really see anything that's going to change this shit any time soon. We'll just have to deal with the fact that a not insignificant percentage of people think that "I read it on [insert social media site], so it must be true!" is an even remotely legitimate way to act.

Rep. Higgins kinda me these kinda vibes -
No hate on the southern accent or drawl in general, there can absolutely but charms to it. It's more the content delivered alongside it that makes the comparison so easy. In that he seems to be hilariously bad at making his case.
So it seems like, after further probing, Twitter takedown requests from Republicans HOLDING OFFICE were far more voluminous in number than the Biden campaign.
Every accusation is a confession. Republicans were trying to use Twitter moderation to censor negative information about themselves, and they had Twitter take that negative information down. To cover it up, they're slinging accusations at Democrats.
EVERY REPUBLICAN ACCUSATION IS A CONFESSION.

If you ever wonder how is it possible a guy like Elon is so disconnected with what the average person actually thinks of him it's because this is who he surrounds himself with
Please watch this video.
It's Elon surrounded by 3 ass licking, doo-doo breath people talking about how Elon's meme game is strong. How he creates his own memes, while Elon types on his phone. Likely tweeting.
I posted just a few pages ago about how he fired people for not getting interaction and we know know his shit history of just being on Twitter too much.

https://thenewstalkers.com/community...-rolling-stone
It's originally from a Rolling Stone article, wherein top white house aides said that Twitter kept an entirely unique database of Republican/Trump requested takedowns. Absolute proof? Not really, but is it really hard to believe that for all the screeching Republicans do about Democrats weaponizing and censoring on Twitter, it might actually be the Republicans who were doing so on a mass scale, and thus the top white house aide isn't lying? I don't see it as a stretch. Seems perfectly in character to me.
Every Republican accusation is a confession. They fling controversies at Democrats to distract from their own misdeeds and illegal activities."It was strange to me when all of these investigations were announced because it was all about the exact same stuff that we had done [when Donald Trump was in office]," one former top aide to a senior Trump administration official tells Rolling Stone . "It was normal."
In interviews with former Twitter personnel, onetime Trump administration officials, and other people familiar with the matter, each source recalled what could be described as a "hotline," "tipline," or large Twitter "database" of moderation and removal requests that was frequently pinged by the offices of powerful Democrats and Republicans alike.
Congress just needs to subpoena all Twitter Files. Not that I think Musk would comply. But his lack of compliance would speak volumes.
On Twitter, lots of Democrats are saying we need to get the complete and full Twitter Files database. Republicans respond going "YEAH SO WE CAN SEE DEMOCRAT ABUSE OF THE SYSTEM" to which the response is that we've already seen Musk's hand played on Democrats. Do Republicans really want their hypocrisy exposed?

Legacy blue checks will be removed soon. Those are the ones that are truly corrupt.
Official Elon tweet.
Hmm? Legacy blues are the truly corrupt? Hey you can make arguments in many ways, but saying just paying $8 is less or the true meaning is silly.
I read but idk how much true that Elon is trying to change that you can only do so many tweets and likes, just overall interaction to be limited if you don't have a blue check mark. Basically you have to pay to tweet.
I love it cause I hope this collapse the site more. I hope most of all this is his desperation since he is losing so much money.
