Another reminder that Musk is a shit stain of a human.

Don't worry fam, he's got it. He apologized.

Because apparently he realized speaking to someone like a human being rather than having a public shitfight over Twitter is the professional thing to do.

Also because he probably spoke to his legal team and realized how much shit he was about to get the company in. And maybe realized that maybe antagonizing and firing the few remaining, extremely talented people who are still willing to work at the company might be pretty "hardcore", but it's not exactly a good idea.

Yeah...so how long before I quote this again when Musk does something else? Months? Weeks?

BREAKING: $TSLA stock is down billions of dollars today, as the result of concerns that Elon will have to dump more stock to pay the estimated *$100 million* he owes the disabled employee he fired & ridiculed on Twitter for having muscular dystrophy & asking employment status.

CA labor law is pretty specific about not disparing former employees and hurting their chances to find new work. I could only wish an Icelandic court would just award Halli all of it.

Yep, Musk is fucked. This guy lives in Iceland I think.

So the guy fired is Haraldur Ingi Þorleifsson. If his Wiki page is correct in link its incredible.

    Mom died at age 11.
He suffers from Muscular Dystrophy. Which he is confined in a wheelchair and can only use arms and hands for short periods.

In early 2021, Haraldur sold Ueno to Twitter.[10] In an agreement between him and Twitter, most of the purchase price was paid as salary to maximize the tax he would pay for the sale in Iceland. He chose to pay for tax out of respect to Iceland for the disability benefits he received.[11][12] Per the agreement, he paid the second highest tax of an individual in Iceland in 2021
In March 2021, Haraldur helped launch a project called Ramp Up Reykjavík, a collaborative venture undertaken by local businesses, labour unions, government ministries, associations, banks, and city officials with the intention of helping local businesses install wheelchair ramps to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.[15][16] After the project's success, a new project called Ramp Up Iceland was started with the intention of building 1,000 ramps around Iceland.[17] After quickly building 300 ramps, the goal was raised to 1,500 ramps by 2026 in November 2022.[18] In December 2022, he was named the Icelandic Person of the Year by RÚV, the Icelandic national broadcaster, as well as Morgunblaðið, and Vísir.is.[19][20]
If all true this dude is like a Saint in Iceland. I joke I hope he is not a hidden Nazi or something, but looks good for now.

Given Elom's notorious hatred of PR departments, and by extension publicists, I find it hilarious that he somehow manages to pick literally all of the worst possible fights one can pick. Unprompted.

This whole affair is 100% the definition of, "This could have been an email.", because it literally could have all been addressed via email.

Truly, this is the kind of stable decision making I would want out of the owner and sole policy decision maker of a large social media platform that's been shown to have real world influence. Not someone who would methodically word to lay out clear policies, principles, and standards that can be enforced as effectively and consistently as possible. Not someone who would be transparent with the public as the company navigates complex social and political issues that are brand-new and it makes mistakes along the way in order to garner trust and engender goodwill.

No. Apparently it's this fuckin guy charging you $8 a month for a blue checkmark that serves you even more tailored ads. Truly, Elom is the Hindenburg of marketing geniuses. The airship, not the person.

It's probably going to take a very very long time, but watching Elom go down in flames will be the most satisfying thing ever.

I'd go for the person, look him up, the airship didn't create misery for millions...

Well, also, according to journalists looking into this, firing said disabled employee would force Elom to do good on the contract clause that says that upon his firing from Twitter, said disabled employee get the amount remaining from his 100~ million USD sale of his company to Twitter.

I don't think Elom can afford that. He can't afford to pay rent.

His reputation is already down the drain doubt he can recover from setting himself on fire like this.

I believe he is already being sued by disabled employees of twitter he fired for discrimination, there's no way these tweets don't get used as evidence against him.

I would like to apologize to Halli for my misunderstanding of his situation. It was based on things I was told that were untrue or, in some cases, true, but not meaningful
See, it wasn't that Musk was a horrible human being. It was a misunderstanding. He misunderstood. He was told things.

How much money does a full set of victim cards cost?

Apparently, there were four Twitter employees that, based on the financial analysis for the layoff, he was told not to fire because their severance packages were very large. That person was one of them. He ended up firing all four.

Oh please say there's some sauce for this. Anyways, I missed this gem -

    https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1633159188787658757

He has a prominent, active Twitter account and is wealthy. The reason he confronted me in public was to get a big payout.

From what I’ve been told, he’s done almost no work for the past four months, middle-management or otherwise.

Despite his claims on Twitter that he did work, it turns out he told HR that he couldn’t work because he couldn’t type, but was, over the same period, typing up a storm on Twitter.

Yet there are many people on Twitter defending him. This hurts my faith in humanity.
    So...

Elom treats someone using Twitter as a last resort to figure out what's up with their job and is, by his own admission independently wealthy, as them "confronting" him for a payout (literally not confronting, he could have ignored it or like, sent a fuckin DM).

Apparently has terrible sources inside his own company that don't know what's actually going on and what the remaining employees even do (is it a surprise Twitter is breaking more often?)

Potentially violates HR policy/laws by revealing a personal medical condition/accommodation while being seemingly being oblivious to the myriad technologies that let people "type" without the use of their fingers (or only a few fingers).

And his faith in humanity is hurt.

Jesus christ man, Elom stans are some of the saddest people around.

I hope he fired all four though and they take the "fuck you" money and bounce.

Edit: Lurking the comments of some of the posts and all, jesus christ there are so many Elom simps just uncritically repeating everything Elom did and attacking the guy and then celebrating that Elom found out his value and maybe that guys boss should better utilize him and holy fuck how are people genuinely this deeply stupid.

First of all, liar. Nobody invested in Twitter has faith in humanity.

Second of all, being called out for actions that show you are a bad human being is actually good for humanity.

Third of all, Musk "negotiated" with Twitter by making loud public accusations to drive their stock price down. He should be familiar with this negotiating technique and should have no moral or ethical problem about the technique he used against Twitter, being used against Twitter. He's either lying, or a hypocrite, when he blames airing dirty laundry in public.

Fourth of all, has he fixed that bot problem yet? I know he's been too busy shuffling that deck of victim cards he paid $44 billion for, but surely he did what he said he'd do by now?

I believe it's already been posted in this thread, but to me it's even more depressing that so many silicon valley billionaires are just like him or worse. There were a bunch that were texting him with stupid ideas, too.

Throwing your people under the bus to avoid responsibility classic leadership move.
