That's the problem - bigots view heterosexuality as normal so PDA from straight people, straight couples boning in movies, people talking about spouses, going on dates, etc. is all "normal" if it's heterosexual.

So, to them, it's not bigotry to call anything outside of that vulgar, or abnormal, or deviant- and they fundamentally don't understand why they are called a bigot.

It's also why it's hopeless to try to reason with them. The only thing that will change their mind (and often not even then) is someone they care about coming out of the closet.

TBH my only issue with the pride flag if any is that its slowly becoming an idol which I dont like. But its more of an issue with me and all idols in general more than just the pride flag, if this is the new anthem for people go for it. Also pls bring back the old pride flag, the new one looks fucking weird

People react similarly when their national flag is desecrated. People react similarly when their holy texts are desecrated. That's still not what an idol is. By your definition the american flag is an idol. A $20 bill is an idol. A photo of your pet is an idol. It's a dumb attempt at a gotcha.

Great - that's not the point. The Pride flag wasn't created to be aesthetically pleasing it was created with reasons. If you educated yourself on those reason then maybe your opinion would carry more merit than "I think this symbol I know nothing about is ugly."
