People react similarly when their national flag is desecrated. People react similarly when their holy texts are desecrated. People react similarly when the historical places of their nation are desecrated. Hell, people in my extended family have reacted similarly when other family members got rid of "family heirlooms".

It's almost like people get mad when you disrespect or desecrate something they care a lot about.

I already told you what I am saying. I said it in the very post you quoted, yet you left that certain part out. I said "It's almost like people get mad when you disrespect or desecrate something they care a lot about."
Be it a flag, a book, a school, a sports team, or even an old t-shirt you keep around for sentimental reasons, there are plenty of things that people care about and they will likely get mad when you treat said thing in a disrespectful or desecrating way.
They are not idols. People care about idols sure, but not everything people care about is an idol.

You might think YouTube over-polices, but if Twitter doesn't police at all, they should have expected shit like this to happen. See, even if this is your experience, I'd much prefer it over how it used to be. I'll condemn hate speech with forms of bans from Twitter, but to completely stop conversations, even if you find it uncomfortable and/or offensive, shouldn't be allowed. If you are upset by what you see on the platform, take steps to block them or leave it completely. We don't need to ban all experiences just because yours wasn't to your liking.

Its hard to actually tell a difference from before to now. Political twitter still has hot takes and trolling. Maybe a few less random bans that I thought were undeserved, but that could be anecdotal. Sports Twitter feels the same. Generic breaking news and commentary feels the same. For media outside Twitter, it just went from Twitter struggling because of excess spending to Twitter struggling because of a lack of revenue.

Elon probably doesn’t have the temperament to run it. In the coming months, we’ll see if he has the discipline to let his new CEO handle the decision-making.
