The South used rhetoric like "American traditions" to justify slavery.

Oh look, no labels organization, an org pretending to be "concerned centrists for the common man" is run by someone who hates Biden, Obama and the Clintons. They were once mega donors who have now been spurned and are now using their "centrists" funding hit pieces to get Trump or DeSantis elected.

Centrists aren't actually centrist and just normal people indoctrinated by far right propaganda.

You're the one stating "American Tradition" and "the Constituition" as reasons why you support the position.

"American Tradition" isn't exactly the gold standard. "Pride in the country and what it stood for" includes slavery. Are you proud of slavery?

America is supposed to be a country of equal opportunity for all. Doesn't really live up to the hype though, does it?

No. I am not proud of slavery, in any country.
I'm just trying to give you the opportunity to give a real reason why this particular "American tradition" is good.

Yes I'm sure it's significantly less credible than what you're reading on Mumsnet or TERF Facebook groups. Lol.

That explains a lot, overseas sources is also very vague I get my news in 2 other languages but they are mostly official channels. I highly doubt you are getting your news from any reliable source since you think young people are rioting and looting in the US.

This is a very easy question to answer. If I was asked this question, I could answer it pretty quickly.

It's weird that you had the chance to post the sources and instead you just typed some stuff that didn't matter.

Well, a sizable amount of people uses the notion of "traditions" to justify being discriminatory towards other groups of people. There are traditions in many religious groups that justify discrimination against LBGTQ people. Just because it is a tradition doesn't mean it is valid or even good. It used to be traditional to use bloodletting to help try and cure disease.

And yet, you are justifying keeping a xenophobic thing in place because of "traditions".

The New York Times, alongside reuters and AP, is prob one of the few remaining news sources that are worth following in the US. Everything else has been ideologically captured by liberals and conservatives alike.

They actually stand behind their articles despite criticism from the deranged left

There is. Its just not worth mentioning since they prob consider the NYT fake news and don't read it from the get-go. Id post a similar thing if the Washington Examiner stood behind articles that received criticism from the deranged right (I dunno if they do I don't read them)

Women not being able to vote was American tradition and Constitutional....until it wasn't.

*eyes how many constitutional amendments there are*

    You don't have a point.

Also, just gracefully take the L on the charge language point. You got caught doing what you accused others of. Just admit it and move on.

EDIT - just a point to show how ridiculous being pedantic about the natural born citizen requirement is:
Someone born out of the US and returned at 2 months of age and was granted citizenship and lived in the US the rest of their life is ineligible to run for president.
Someone born in the US and left at 2 months of age who just returned at age 60 is eligible to run for president.

Which one of the above do you think better understands the US?

Whats stupid is not being able to see and understand the parallels they are drawing for you. Your only 2 reasons are the same 2 reasons slavery was kept around. You think just because it's not as bad as slavery it can't be used to show how stupid that reasoning is?
