It bears noting that these sockpuppets don't have any meaningful presence outside the far-right blogosphere. The only way you're finding out about what they've tweeted or whatever is because some far-right type has gotten the talking points and the link to that account and knows to use this to further the agenda/rhetoric. Maybe they do this knowingly, maybe they do it because they're just that much of a gullible unthinking sucker. The difference is effectively meaningless.

What matters is that when they, like these sockpuppets, claim to be a "lefty" or that they totally "vote Democrat all the time", you can safely dismiss that as just more of the same.

Worse, consider what the argument itself is projecting; they presume they can use "random person who leans left" as an argument that all left-wing-leaning types necessarily agree with everything they say. They're making this claim because right-wing ideology in 2023 (past decade or so, really) is almost entirely defined by allegiance, not principle; it does not matter what a right-wing politician says or does, their followers will back them, because allegiance is all that matters. Like Trump said; he could shoot someone in the street and not lose votes. Link provided because people will protest that claim. As we see right now, Trump's blatantly obvious crimes are getting very little pushback from anyone on the right, and where it does show up it's mostly from Primary challengers who hope to unseat Trump as the 2024 candidate, and see this as a means to try and achieve that. And largely aren't succeeding, because again; it's all about allegiance, not principle.

And right-wingers can't grasp that left-wingers are much more into thinking for themselves and that there's a lot of disagreement among left-wingers as a result. That left-wing views are much more driven by principle, not allegiance to any particular leader. The response to "what if Biden crimed like Trump did?" just gets you an easy "then lock the fucker up, who gives a fuck about Biden?"

It appears there's more nuance, from what I can figure out. As a non-user there, I can click @Paranoid Android 's link and view the tweet. But I can't view replies, or try to browse tweets. So I'm suspecting this is the approach they're gonna use to put that certain fire out.

Yeah, I can follow a link to a specific tweet, but I can't go check, i.e. William Gibson's Twitter - I still get the login requirement. Lone Skum probably expects it to drive account creation. I'm guessing it will be too little, too late. It's certainly not going to change my decisions vis a vis Twitter; I'll just keep ignoring it, except for a little schadenfreude at Musk's comeuppance.
