apparently there was a fake account with an AI profile pic that was made by conservtaives that would post cringe left adjacent takes and every right winger would retweet it and say " see this is what liberals believe" i think most of us knew this was a viable strat they were doing for years but now its basically been proven https://www.washingtonpost.com/techn...rsh-suspended/

but of course anyone politically smart would know the first red flag was those accounts all have blue checks where as any sane liberal would never actually pay elon 8$ lol

It bears noting that these sockpuppets don't have any meaningful presence outside the far-right blogosphere. The only way you're finding out about what they've tweeted or whatever is because some far-right type has gotten the talking points and the link to that account and knows to use this to further the agenda/rhetoric. Maybe they do this knowingly, maybe they do it because they're just that much of a gullible unthinking sucker. The difference is effectively meaningless.

What matters is that when they, like these sockpuppets, claim to be a "lefty" or that they totally "vote Democrat all the time", you can safely dismiss that as just more of the same.

Worse, consider what the argument itself is projecting; they presume they can use "random person who leans left" as an argument that all left-wing-leaning types necessarily agree with everything they say. They're making this claim because right-wing ideology in 2023 (past decade or so, really) is almost entirely defined by allegiance, not principle; it does not matter what a right-wing politician says or does, their followers will back them, because allegiance is all that matters. Like Trump said; he could shoot someone in the street and not lose votes. Link provided because people will protest that claim. As we see right now, Trump's blatantly obvious crimes are getting very little pushback from anyone on the right, and where it does show up it's mostly from Primary challengers who hope to unseat Trump as the 2024 candidate, and see this as a means to try and achieve that. And largely aren't succeeding, because again; it's all about allegiance, not principle.

And right-wingers can't grasp that left-wingers are much more into thinking for themselves and that there's a lot of disagreement among left-wingers as a result. That left-wing views are much more driven by principle, not allegiance to any particular leader. The response to "what if Biden crimed like Trump did?" just gets you an easy "then lock the fucker up, who gives a fuck about Biden?"

Yeah, that should absolutely be appealed and tossed. Basically prevents the government from communicating on a wide range of perfectly normal, legal topics because some fuckin nutjob appears to think that basically all government requests are inherently coercive and jesus christ.

Ah yes, the exact kind of brand-safe posters you want on your platform just regularly tweeting hateful garbage for attention.

This is Approved Freeze Peach and shall be allowed because whoever Leafy is pays Mr. Musk $8/month for the privilege of accessing a free service rofl.

Also, reads like that Facebook page for your uncle who doesn't understand the internet or Facebook but has some opinions that he really needs to share since he hasn't been invited to a family gathering since the 80's.

If people tweet for attention why are you giving them that?

I still haven't figured why people haven't seen through Lone Skum's trolling, and stopped feeding him.

Twitter's new puppet CEO gaslighting people about the importance of the recent changes, I see.

Even if you really did want to shut down spam/scraping, test-in-production with no pre-announcement isn't how we do it.

Musk has already kicked out any credibility she might have had, since he is clearly still running Twitter

Yeah Leafy literally has nothing except being edgy and have ppl react to that. Dude has no charisma or anything that can retain a fanbase. If he isnt getting attention of any type then he will naturally die out

  12. #4592
So apparently Google can no longer provide recent tweets via search results due to this change?

Which raises a question...did that one intern Elon hired who ended up quitting after a few weeks actually end up fixing Twitter search? Did anyone ever fix Twitter search? Or did Elom get bored and forget about it after he couldn't get any more attention by talking about it?

It's telling how your problem with him is that he "has no charisma", rather than him being a hateful bigot.

Apparently necessary reminder that there's no such thing as "just saying hateful shit to be edgy and get attention".

If you're doing that shit, it's because you're a hateful bigot. You may also want attention, but it's not a "joke" and you're not "just saying it for attention". You're saying it to hurt innocents, because you're a bigot. And you should be treated accordingly.

To me this is common sense but hey for those who think Musk is a genius.

Not too familiar with source to much. Some "European News" for you all. LuL. Yet common sense if you think $8 gets you followers. On the other hand I think besides the bots most are so obsessed with Elon or owning the Libs they just want their tweets first. To be fair there are some advantages of editing, longer tweets.

And Twitter has already reversed course on the whole "can't read Tweets when logged out" thing.

Honestly don't think any "twitter killer" is going to make it if they don't allow porn.

Yeah, I can follow a link to a specific tweet, but I can't go check, i.e. William Gibson's Twitter - I still get the login requirement. Lone Skum probably expects it to drive account creation. I'm guessing it will be too little, too late. It's certainly not going to change my decisions vis a vis Twitter; I'll just keep ignoring it, except for a little schadenfreude at Musk's comeuppance.
