I don't pay $8/month to access a free platform so I can't confirm what the current state of this "perk" is, but this is my last recollection.Other benefits listed as “coming soon” include “half the ads” seen by non-paying Twitter users as well as ostensibly “twice as relevant” ads (Blue previously removed ads entirely) and the ability to post longer videos to Twitter.
The guy thinks bots wouldn't buy blue to mess with people. He also thinks he solved the bot problem, but it's definitely more pervasive.

don't forget gettr! and frank! I'm probably forgetting about a few more as well. I miss that momentary gold-rush where everyone who had a roommate in college that could code was whipping up a freeze peach social media website and getting clowned in by the dude who made the pirate bay.

Sucks to not be sycophantic enough to be in on the promo.

Guy is trying to turn Twitter into Twitch. I hope creators exploit the hell out of it while the incentives last and may fools be parted from their money subscribing. If you are going subscribe to content creators at least do it on platforms where they are providing actual content and not just 240 character opinions or links to something else...
So...he spent $44B to turn Twitter from a company that was slowly working its way towards profitability and on track to reach it within some years (well, at least starting to generate actual profits) into an even more unprofitable company whose most notable business developments in recent years are, to your point, finding new and exciting ways to exploit and piss off content creators on the platform.
Twitter is doing for Elon's business image what the Ukrainian war is doing for Russias. In that it's extremely fucking clear now that every one of his companies succeeds because he hires smarter people than him that know what the fuck their doing and can limit the damage his stupid fucking ideas would ultimatley cause while making him feel like it's all his beautiful little brain and not just his fat sacks of apartheid emerald cash.
And now he's a terminally online ultra-right weirdo, to boot, completely killing his public persona so that the only people who like him anymore are his weirdo little blue checkmark simps and the people at twitter who think he's brilliant because that's one of the lines on their list of core job responsibilities, fluff up his ego every once in a while by telling him he has the dankest memes.
MMO-C's second-favorite lawyer weighs in on Elon Musk suing his own lawyers. Spoiler alert: he has a shot.
Well cyber truck is ready I guess
Musk has been trying his best to bring revenue back to Twitter and failing miserably. He hasn't been outwardly panicking but it's clear he's starting to get desperate from all of the measures he's taking to bring money in. Including suing his own lawyers.
Notice how a bunch of the people who made money off of Twitter posted getting something like $20k USD? You have to be MASSIVE to get that kind of money from Twitter. You have to get enormous amounts of impressions. And of course, now every schmuck who's paid for twitter blue is inadvertently funding Andrew Tate, since he's one of those people who got Twitter money. Not that I think people who are paying for Twitter blue believe Tate did anything wrong.
Have to wonder if the reason Elon is getting desperate is that the Russians/Saudis are coming knocking for all the money they let him borrow. But I kinda doubt that's an issue, since this whole time it's been about spreading propaganda. Though Elon has also been desperate to show just how many people are actually using Twitter. He doesn't want it to die, or get whittled down to a conservative only audience. THAT would very likely make his investors displeased.

Well, his dilemma is that he wants to score points with right wing trolls and conspiracy nuts because they give him the attention he craves, but nobody wants to hang out in the same spaces as them. He's effectively transformed Twitter into another right wing free speech platform with his lax moderation policies and signal boosting, and that's toxic to advertisers.
Everything he's tried to boost revenue has been wrapped up in that, which is why it's failing. Selling blue checks to grifters and trolls, and then straight up paying them out of pocket to post, when they're what's driving users and advertisers away, is beyond stupid.
I just wanted to see people go to Mars, and this dipshit decided to die on the Twitter hill...
I'll never get over this.

I am looking forward to the day Disney silently edits Elon out of Iron Man 2.
