I’m not a legal expert, but this, imo, does seem a bit vague. I’m taking it as referring to the platform's ability of restricting or blocking certain users who engage in abusive behavior from using the service altogether. Others, as the GoodPillow guy posted, are interpreting it differently. I’m not sure which is correct, tbh, but I’m sure the Mute option can be reworked if it is actually in violation.

And yet the Google Play one says "Provides an in-app system for blocking UGC and users", separate from the feature to report and have moderation. It's not vague at all, it's pretty clear cut.

I highly doubt Apple is going to want to be outdone when it comes to keeping their app store clean, even if you want to try to argue the idea of "well maybe it just means this!".

Besides the fact that the Apple one also specifically mentions to combat anonymous bullying, which is going to fall into giving the user the tools for it.

Preventing an account from seeing your posts does not work in practice. Anyone with any intent can find out what you post by simply creating another account or logging out

Block and mute are two different functions already. Mute just hides posts from that account. Block also prevents them from seeing or replying to your posts, or from DMing you.

It says something when someone commented that "some people see blocks as a badge of honor, like you couldn't take a joke" and Elon Musk posted agreeing with them.

You can enhance the mute option without having the redundancy of a block feature.

Musk’s decision to eliminate the block feature is in direct violation of App Store guidelines & will lead to X’s removal from the App Store, if implemented

I predict Elon isn’t aware of this & will backtrack — saying he was “trolling” or “joking” — and his followers will buy it
