It's a business owner, usually an already very wealthy and right-wing business owner, telling anyone who'll listen how, since he's such a genius/job-creator/benefit to society/just plain wealthy, it's not fair if his business doesn't make him a bunch of money, no matter how badly he operates it. Or, to put it another way, it's rich people insisting that they should be richer, because they're rich. Yes, it's just that stupid when broken down, but that doesn't stop them.

In this case, Elon's "reasoning" is something like this:

    1. Elon paid a whole lot of money for Twitter.
    2. Elon made a bunch of changes to Twitter that drove away advertisers.
    3. As a result Twitter isn't making enough money, and Elon is losing money.
    4. This can't possibly be Elon's fault. (Remember, the right never takes responsibility or accepts consequences for their actions.)
    5. It must be someone else's fault that Elon isn't making money.
    6. The government should punish whoever Elon blames for his failures.
    7. Then Elon's business will make money for him.

It won't actually work, of course, but the key is he gets to blame someone else.

So he's threatening to sue an organization for what they said, an organization that exists mind you, to sue people based on legal rights.....

I think I've had better chances fighting master ranks in SF6

In light of Elom crying about the ADL and antisemitism and shit, I'll just bring back that time from a few months ago when he randomly tweeted about how George Soros reminds him of Magneto, a poster paying him $8/month responded to share a reasonable take about how Soros worldview is shaped by his experience surviving the Holocaust - much like Magneto - and he is doing what he thinks is good through his political activism.

But according to Elom, Soros just hates humanity - https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1658294821679951872

Figure it's fitting with that and the Nazis showing up in Florida again with all the right wing chuds calling them Feds because it's always Feds even if it's literally their own people every fuckin time.

So I get onto Twitter today, oh look a bunch of giant babies are whining about pronoun selection in Starfield and how politics shouldn't be in video games.

Me: Politics are in most video games, and if the chuds could get past being offended about pronouns there's an intensely nuanced story line about rugged individualism vs collective human will and regulated power. And that's just the main story, there are NUMEROUS good political topics embedded within starfield story and side quests.

Then I immediately start getting bombarded by DMs and QRTs from people with LITERAL THIRD REICH SHIT IN THEIR PROFILES such that I basically have to go on a block spree AND scrub my for you page because it's suddenly inundated with far right Nazis (yes, nazis, not just Republicans, actual nazis).

Thanks Elon, thanks for the worst Twitter ever. Maybe I should message the ADL about all the Nazi attention I got earlier.

Weird how the people who mock snowflakes always end up being so easily triggered. And these dudes have been spending $100 for early access so they can cry about it on Twitter rofl.

So musk is blaming the Jews for causing advertisers to flee his platform - back to the old Jews control the media trope again is it.

He has also sued the Center for Countering Digital Hate for claiming hateful, racist content has proliferated on twitter after musk let all the hateful racists back on.

The only difference between this Musk bullying lawsuit and a Trump bullying lawsuit is Trump's lawyers are busy while Musk's lawyers have nothing better to do. This suit is baseless. We all know by now defamation requires the spread of a false claim. Measuring the spread of hate posts will be something this CCDH will be able to objectively prove. Boom. Lawsuit over. The Council should push back for legal costs and sanctions, as this is such a clear textbook case.

    Saw this amusing description of Musk;

Elon Musk went from being the Henry Ford of our generation (admired carmaker, brilliant salesman) to being the Henry Ford of our generation (conspiracy theorist, Nazi-enabler)

All those whiners actually made me add He/Him pronouns to my profile. Because fuck them.

Honestly, the worst thing that happened for Musk's public imagie was getting on Twitter and controling it himself. Before that he might have been left as "weird billionare that hates trains, is terrible with personal relationships, and can't name children".

In his previous endeavors (Tesla, SpaceX), he was surrounded by a staff (and a whole company, really) who believed in what the company was doing, and understood that managing him as a sort of Tony-Stark Mascot would help them do what they loved, and they had a lot of practice managing him. At Twitter, he came in cold, and we got to see him unfiltered and unassisted. And it's not pretty.

    Old news is new news.

Elon Musk secretly ordered SpaceX engineers to switch off the Starlink satellite communications network near the coast of occupied Crimea in order to thwart a Ukrainian surprise attack on Russia’s naval fleet, according to a report.

As Ukrainian submarine drones strapped with explosives approached the Russian fleet, they “lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly,” Isaacson writes.

Without warning to US State Department or Dept. of Defense Musk chose to shut off Starlink during crucial time.

Musk’s decision, which left Ukrainian officials begging him to turn the satellites back on, was driven by an acute fear that Russia would respond to a Ukrainian attack on Crimea with nuclear weapons, a fear driven home by Musk’s conversations with senior Russian officials, according to Isaacson, whose new book is set to be released by Simon & Schuster on September 12.

Musk’s concerns over a “mini-Pearl Harbor” as he put it, did not come to pass in Crimea. But the episode reveals the unique position Musk found himself in as the war in Ukraine unfolded. Whether intended or not, he had become a power broker US officials couldn’t ignore.
Umm so he knew or at least after the fact it very much seems of why or the purpose he shut it off.

“How am I in this war?” Musk asks Isaacson. “Starlink was not meant to be involved in wars. It was so people can watch Netflix and chill and get online for school and do good peaceful things, not drone strikes.”
I won't get too much in policy and Ukraine, but you can say this might be a legit reason. Simply, you don't want your technology used for war to kill people. Except Musk took money from Ukraine government and so far the US Pentagon. I mean???

Elom being pro Putin is one of the worst kept secrets on the internet.

I really seriously don't get these AMERICANS who argue that we should just allow Russia to bowl over any nation it wants without resistance because *Checks notes* Putin is threatening nuclear war if he doesn't get what he wants.

America used to pride itself on standing up to tyrants and bullies. Now Republicans are content to let them go free.

I'd ask why, but we know why. It's because the Putin faction not only supports far right ideologies like anti LGBTQ stuff and removing rights for women, but most American conservatives KNOW that the right is running out of money and the only thing keeping it afloat is Russian money.

The fact that Biden hasn't revoked his citizenship, thrown him in Gitmo, erased any records of his existence, and seized and nationalized all his assets is proof that this country is a failed state.
Banned from Twitter by Elon, so now I'm your problem.

I see a degree of justification for the Dept of Defense takeover of Starlink.

Get real, Starlink is a civilian system. Starlink was given to Ukraine to be used to give the civilain population of Ukraine internet access. That was that US agree to pay for and that was that Ukraine accepted.

There are a military variant of Starlink called Starsheld.

US refuse to give long range strike wepons to Ukraine, and geo-lock the missiles they give to Ukraine. Why are you holding Elon to a higher standard? Starshield exist for a reson, even if they are just a Starlink painted green. That is the system you can sue to kill people.

So then will you bach the US goverment for not transfer Starshield to Ukraine? I can not stand the hypocrisy.

So Musk shut down Starlink for no reason since they should have had Starshield if they wanted to use it for war?
