He doesn't. His money, which hired a lot of very smart people who are very good at their jobs, did.
The Cybertruck and Twitter are prime examples of what happens when he gets deeply personally involved in projects. They are the exact reason why there are stories of people at SpaceX and Tesla whose job it is to largely keep him distracted and from sticking his fingers into things. Because the Cybertruck, despite some valiant efforts by their engineers to give it some use-cases, and Twitter, which there are no guardrails against Elon at, are the results when he "shares" his genius.
He's every out of touch billionaire, and he's continuing to surround himself with more enablers. Which makes his lurch to the right and his embrace of far right conspiracy theories and meming make all the more sense. He wants a crowd that will fawn over his every word and clap like seals when he "owns the libs" because that is, and will continue to be the greatest achievement one can reach as a conservative on the internet.
This!
Elon claimed he'd do away with bots.
Guess what? Before Elon I had maybe 2 random bot accounts a year try to follow me.
Now? I get around one a day that I block.

Think him of SpaceX's PR guy and person who handles Shareholders and Money People.

There are really 3 channels by which the company "talks" to the media and public.
1. There's an email list of other companies, media etc.
2. Via LinkedIn.
3. Twitter.
Twitter has both the furthest and fastest reach and the highest levels of "community interaction".
They all have their uses and levels of utility. Twitter got to where it is because of just how quick, easy and far reaching it was. The problem with it now is that the "community interaction" has turned into an unmanageable and unmanaged minefield. Turning off comments etc will ultimately make the medium essentially pointless

So I have a second account for twitter that follows no one and has no followers, new accounts see some really terrible shit on that site
like it's filled with blue check scammers, in between some politicians and then just straight-up death, not even a warning, just a video of some guy falling to his death
I'm not gonna post the other brainrot that's in this thread, but needless to say there's a fuckton of blue check marks on Twitter who believe that Elon Musk and Republicans are the "ruled working class" and teachers, baristas and minimum wage workers are the wealthy elite ruling class.
It's so fucking divorced from reality it's a wonder these people manage to put their shoes on in the morning. It's like they have no idea what any of these words even mean, where they identify oppression as "people who think like me are getting bullied by people who don't think like me". I've lost several IQ points this day just reading this slop.

2023: "What's with all these massively successful games with ugly (realistic) women? How could this have happened?!"
Stupid people that are barely getting by need to have a permanent underclass to feel better than. Republicans and their voters continue to push for such a thing. It's outright lying to themselves and a self-own when Republican reactions (they don't have policies) end up blowing up in their faces. But for the brief time living in the fantasy makes them feel better about their own mediocre existence because for a moment they aren't the underclass they do desperately despise.

Congratulations to the 2 campaigns he launched/backed on twitter.
It's not just that, though. You're absolutely right about what motivates the average Republican voter... but the average Republican voter is not who sets Republican policy 99% of the time. It's the wealthy (the capitalist class, really, although demonization of Marx in American discourse discourages most from putting it that way) who make decisions to their own benefit. That ruling class of capitalists use the ages-old strategy of dividing the proles and the petite bourgeoisie and turning them against each other in order to prevent the lower classes from uniting against the capitalists.
I still find it interesting to observe how, after 8 years of President Obama blatantly operating as an establishment technocrat (a Democratic trifecta and the only major accomplishment was to pass libertarian-approved public health legislation), he was succeeded by President Trump who, if he did nothing else well, did a superb job of making certain that the American populist left and populist right will loathe each other for a generation or more.

With few exceptions, the men who are running this Government are of a mentality that you and I cannot understand. Some of them are psychopathic cases and would ordinarily be receiving treatment somewhere. Others are exalted and in a frame of mind that knows no reason."

BTW, recently Elon has been desperate to bring Mr. Beast and his views to Twitter, but the Beast guy has no interest because Twitter's payouts are dogshit compared to what he spends making videos apparently.
Elon is desperate though, and also a stupid man.
So apparently Twitter is running an ad on one a new Mr. Beast video, except it's not labled as an ad anywhere which is a violation of FTC guidelines which require all advertisements be clearly labeled. This isn't something Mr. Beast could do himself, this is a platform-level change. Something that say, an egocentric, desperately replyguy CEO would demand engineers do.
Laws? Regulations? Those apply to regular people. Elon is not regular people. I just wish people would start treating him like the regular, boring asshole he is.
So Elon just went to Auschwitz, cause you know, going there means you are not an antisemite anymore. Then can't help himself and reply to this:
The End Wokeness account is well, extreme right wing and shocking! They lean on the white nationalist side. The tweet bringing up the good ole "Kill the Boer" an anti-apartheid but now like everything is used to flame the white supremacist mantra that whites in South Africa are facing genocide. Of course we know the "white lives matter" is a racist response to Black Lives Matter.
Listen we can't discuss the ling as much cause of Forum Rules, but the point here is this dude can't help himself to immediately after a visit to Auschwitz, Elon has to embrace white supremacy.
"Buh dah DEMS"
!!
Intersting!
That's insane!
Wild!
True
Concerning...
Elon's regression to a smoothbrain reply guy continues.
