Sensor Tower, while an external company, is infinitely more trustworthy than Elon. Imagine believing anything Elon says in the year of our lord 2024.The numbers were nearly as bad worldwide, as daily active users on the mobile app fell to 174 million in February, down 15% from a year earlier, the firm said. The worldwide user base has been flat or down every month during Musk’s tenure began except one, when it grew slightly in October and then resumed falling, according to Sensor Tower.
...
X said in a post Monday that the worldwide number is higher than what Sensor Tower data shows, with 250 million people using X every day globally. That would still be a decrease from when Musk bought the app. Musk said in 2022 that, at about the time he completed the purchase in late October, Twitter had about 258 million “monetizable daily active users,” the company’s metric at the time.
So about Elon censoring Pete Souza - the answer is No, he deleted the account himself due to death threats.

I am sure there is lesson here for few posters.
“You're not to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it.”― Malcolm X
I watch them fight and die in the name of freedom. They speak of liberty and justice, but for whom? -Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor Kenway)
The lesson being that Elon not managing his platform properly has led to right wing fuckwits making so many death threats that it drives normal people off the platform? While Elon does literally nothing to people that are on "his team" regardless of their actions?
I think we may have found an antonym for a humble brag.
When challenging a Kzin, a simple scream of rage is sufficient. You scream and you leap.

Just a circle jerk about "Elmo bad", basically. Which he is, but it doesn't make it better.
Well, he is bad.
He's gone full hypocrite on the very space he swore he wanted "free speech," by banning things he doesn't like. He's banned his own employees for telling the truth. He's banned critics for telling the truth.
There's also the reality that he's a shitty human being. He's an abusive AND absent father. He's a proven liar, welfare queen, wannabe fascist, and supports a rapist.
I'm not sure pointing out that a guy was getting death threats is the win you think it is.

If I hear a loud "bang" outside my house, I think "car backfiring". That doesn't mean I'm a bad person for "leaping to conclusions" when it turns out it was gunfire; it means in my neighbourhood, car backfires are much more common than gunshots, so I assumed the most likely conclusion until I had better evidence.
Because that's the thing; people adjusting their positions when new evidence or information comes to light is not "taking a loss". It's how reasonable people with critical thinking skills behave. It's how science works, as a system. Claiming some kind of nonsense "gotcha" because people adjusted their positions based on evidence is just a spectacular kind of self-own. All you're doing is admitting you yourself don't assess your positions based on the evidence, and you condemn those who do.
There is no "L". We made a reasonable assumption based off of prior information and behavior, we were wrong, we change our opinions on this because we were wrong and the underlying assumption - Elon is a delicate, sensitive manbaby who bans people at-will on his platform and has made it clear he's going to actively work to support Republicans/Donald - remains accurate.
@Easo is so desperate for a W for once on these forums that they are doing a victory lap over someone getting death threats.
Absolutely disgusting.
He's afraid daddy will call him a loser?
Elon Musk forbade his children from bringing stuffed animals to his home when they turned seven years old, because he thought it would make them "losers".
