Before the election I was here arguing that everyone who is not a nazi should stop using Twitter. I was largely laughed at. How are you guys justifying your membership these days? What irreplaceable benefit are you deriving from your continued engagement with a nazi-run platform?
Here is the troubling thing. Within hours of the Elmo salute, the compilations of the image stills were available and circulated in conservative circles. I know gifs take more effort but shouldn't we have easily available counters with moving images so we can immediately cross post ourselves?

I made an account a couple years back before Elon's buyout, under my pen name, and then literally never used it. And now won't. I only "use" Twitter in the sense of looking for a specific tweet, usually some stupid-ass person on Elon's side who I want to confirm actually said a really stupid/terrible thing and I'm not seeing a photoshopped image. I do so without logging in, and with my adblock firmly "on".
And just to repeat my point from yesterday, unrelated to your post here;
1> It was objectively a Nazi salute.
2> The only people who would defend or deflect away from that are Nazis.
3> If you're gonna tell me it wasn't, go do that salute at work, or sitting outside of a synagogue or something. Go on, actually fuckin' do it. I know you won't, because you actually do know it's a Nazi salute.

Agreed. I saw it described in the media as an “Odd gesture” and I thought “Yeah sure, in the same way the showers at Auschwitz were odd”.
The fact the media has by and large gone silent on this is as clear an indication as possible that they are all bought and paid for. And the fact that there isn’t a single solitary person of real power and influence calling for action and boycott of every Musk enterprise is also hugely concerning and disappointing.
Yeah, it's so fucking weird.
And then you watch the Daily Show where Jon Steward is like: Maybe it was an accident. Maybe he was just gesturing that his heart goes out to the people. As long as he doesn't do it a second time.
Then shows the second time, he does his silly anger movement and then talk about how fucking insane it is that Elon Musk did the nazi salute twice
People on the left and liberal side are moving away from Twitter and to Bluesky these days and I just cannot understand why that did not happen BEFORE the elections . . .
Inertia's also a bastard. It's easier to just not do anything than to go through the effort of making a change. It usually takes a big reason to shift to another provider, and "Elon being kinda cringe and dumb" wasn't enough of a reason for most until recently, when that upgraded to "Nazi trying to get people killed".
You can't put the genie back in the box, with then new age of con men officially upon us it will only get worse. The algorithms main goal now is to divide society even further while the robber barons loot society. We may see the first trilionaires soon from the batch of billionaires that were behind Trump.
