So tell me, if a company report somthing on a stock holder meeting and to SEC , can they lie as much they want, as long they say estemated? Is there no demand that a company need to do a proper diligence then doing estimatemations?
Do not get me wrong I think Eon love attention. But do you realy think he is ruled by his vanity then he can save several billions of dollar, by "prove" that Twitter intentionally or with incompetence "estimate" the number of bots incorrectly by a large margin.
Okay, then he can go ahead and "prove" that they are fudging the numbers... doesn't really change anything though.
I don't really see how it matters much anyway. When (if) the sale goes through, if he feels that their estimations are off...he can implement new policies for dealing with bots and new methods of determing how many bot accounts there are. I mean, isn't he saying the whole point of him buying Twitter is to fix what's broken? Isn't he supposed to Make Social Media Great Again?
Isms bore me. I think they are only brought by people who seek to marginalize the potential of each ism to provide something meaningful. Name it, Capitalism, Socialism, even Communism-- all contain something of merit towards structuring a society. The biggest flaw in human history has been the need to take the worst of a system along with the best. It doesn't have to be all of one and none of another.
I mean yeah...depending on how ballsy they are and how confident they are they won't get caught. Remember Enron imploding? I'm under no illusion that companies bend these reports in their interests wherever possible, depending on how comfortable they are with it. Also, one would imagine that a potential buyer might be able to demand a bit more transparency and data to back up those claims before signing anything.
Proper due diligence is much, much more than just reading their mandatory public filings.
I think he is ruled by his vanity, yes. But that's not what I'm saying happened.
Elon memed an offer for Twitter (54.20...420 lol) because he's also salty the SEC fined him for tweeting about securing funding to take Tesla private when he had not and was not intending to (he cried about it not too long before the Twitter shit). He in no way expected Twitter to seriously consider his offer and fully expected them to reject it. He gets to portray himself as some folk hero who tried to "save Twitter" and gets the bonus of trolling the FEC.
Problem is that Twitter probably realized it was a game of chicken and didn't blink, since they have much less to lose selling to him and cashing the fuck out (including investors) than he does in buying the company. So there we go, he's not on a crash course and seeing the value of his Tesla stock fall, losing him tens of billions in wealth in the process, and he's suddenly having to come up with a narrative to fit all this while trying to figure out a face-saving way to get the fuck out of the deal.
He doesn't give a shit about freeze peach. He doesn't give a shit about authentic Twitter users vs. bots. He gives a shit about attention. Hence why he's been simping in the comments sections of most of Twitters most/least favorite conservative influences and playing to his new conservative leaning audience who suddenly holy shit fuckin love Musk-senpai. Hence why he spent most of today having a bit of a meltdown on Twitter.
I mean, poor person spends all their day shitposting on Twitter and, "Get a job and stop wasting your life!" Elon spends a day shitposting on Twitter and that's actually very smart and he's really mr galaxy brain.
He did a smooth one on them.
Twitter boards wants to sell, so right now Musk is trying to drag the price down and likely he will succeed. He won't mind saving a few bils.
All my ignores are permanently filtered out and invisible to me. Responding to my posts with nonsense or insults is pointless, you're likely already invisible and if not - 3 clicks away. One ignore is much better than 3 pages of trolling.
If Elon Musk had any sense of preservation of the species, he'd secure-erase the entirety of Twitter the nanosecond he has absolute control and say over its status.
Yes, and the point about reading public filings is that you actually have to read them.
Musk seems to believe that Twitter claimed that less than 5% of the accounts are bots or otherwise fake. They didn't - they claimed that they estimated that less than 5% of some set of daily active users are bots or otherwise fake; and see below
True, and if the poor person heeds the advise they become part of the "inactive accounts" that are reported in all the stories about massive numbers of fake followers - but not included in Twitter's statistics.
In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party.
But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.
Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold
Alright getting political here. I'll give my take which is in the middle as best I can.
This is a stupid statement and bias. Yes, I say I will stay mid but him trying to equate the Democrats have become more evil or the Republicans are the most kind is effin funny. Again, if you hate the Left/Dems and not on the team, Musk equating the party that the majority of the party members were trying to overthrow our country is delusional that this is the right party.
I love this tweet from April 27th, 2022 from Musk.
For Twitter to deserve public trust, it must be politically neutral, which effectively means upsetting the far right and the far left equally
Stay WOKE Elon, stay woke!

He's been simping for attention in the comments section of all Twitter's favorite alt-right influencers. And it's working fantastically, as he has a new crowd of devoted cultists in his cult of personality.
It's not political, it's all about his ego and his need for constant validation.
Well, thankfully he can't run for President, so we won't get narcissists asshole 2.0 in the Whitehouse.
Umm, this guy is dangerous. Yes he has a cult and this cult cannot discern or maybe they really know where Elon is heading which is joining right-wing extremism. If you think this about ego, I totally disagree and you are giving him way too much credit. Musk has drank the kool-aid. The people he hangs out with and his support of who and why they want Musk to buy Twitter should be a red flag.
If you think this is trying to get comments and ego, he does not both sides the politics side as I stated in my original post. I would at least give him credit if he wanted to do the "Both sides are bad" take. Him like Rogan, the past few years never attacks the right, I mean c'mon! You should understand the WOKE people who used to be here on MMO and some still here who always claimed they were the "both sides bad" people yet always attacked one political party and championed the other.

Maybe just as dangerous he can fund and promote a guy like Thiel did and have him in his pocket. I mean honestly I would rather have an idiot figure head, like GW Bush, who you can push the buttons behind the scene.
I know this getting deep political on the Elon buys Twtter page. So I'll try to stop myself, but leave with Musk seems to be dangerous in his ideolog.

Are you trying to imply that Elon Musk would abuse his power by making Twitter politically biased in support of the right and against the left? A person with the moral integrity of Elon Musk would never let that happen. He would never try to force his personal biases onto everyone else nor would he do so through trickery.

Reminder that you live in a world of pure imagination and not the same reality that the rest of us do, and you continue to think that fairly garbage people are actually good.
