As long as people understand that making fun of Elons boat body and making fun of how e.g. a transperson looks is the same, then fine, I think that's pretty low but I don't really care. It's the hypocrisy that bothers me. If you want to attack Elon because you think he's a bad guy (for the record, I do) then do it without being a hypocrite - attack the actual bad shit he does or his personality (e.g. vanity).

His body is an extension of his personality. He denies people gender affirming care yet has had surgery to make himself look more masculine.

He's much like Trump in this regard.

There is nothing inherently wrong with making fun of how anyone looks, I just don't care to do it unless provoked. It is hilarious to make fun of someone for doing something they seek to ban or constantly rally against and we have done it forever.

Anti-gay people that get caught sucking a dick.
Racists that get caught jacking it to black people.
Fat people that insult others for being fat.
Balding small dick men that rally against surgery to improve your self appearance and get caught getting a penis pump installed.

It is really net neutral, I won't flame a random innocent bystander about any of these things, but the, as you just mentioned, hypocrisy of being against things you do yourself that makes it great to joke about. Because they started the fire, I just choose to stoke it in their direction after these revelations for the luls.

What the fuck? There absolutely is a lot wrong with making fun of how someone looks. There are of course exceptions to this, but the default should be that you don't fucking make fun of the way other people look like.

I don't really see the argument against it, personally. People are free to call me an ugly bitch and I'm free to call them an ugly cunt. Thats life. I personally don't engage in the activity unprovoked but to try to act high and mighty and scoff at the idea is kinda silly because everyone makes fun of everyone appearances here and there. An entire industry of entertainment revolves around roasting other peoples appearances, so people love to do it and love to watch it happen.

You're not, unless they start with it, but okay.

Calling you an ugly bitch for the hat you wear on your head = totally fine.
Calling you an ugly bitch for the shape of your head = absolutely not fine.

I hope you see the difference.

In this scenario, musk is absolutely the one starting it.

Oh I do, but it's not a hill worth dying on. Just let dicks be dicks and tell their job about the activity. Trying to police this and make a moral argument about right or wrong is a losing battle.

Here is the thing. Lets use Trump as an example. The man actively belittles or otherwise denigrates people based on their looks and the like. It is only fair game to do it back to him.

It isn't about making fun of a person and therefor punching down. It is basically punching up and dealing with bullies. Elon Musk is a bully, pure and simple. He actively has trolled, denigrated or otherwise belittled multiple people for the same thing he has or has done to himself. So, when it comes to Musk, it is fair game because he is the one causing his own issues on this by starting it.

This is about the social contract. When one side (Musk, Trump) breaks it, the other side responding in kind isn't a breach of the contract anymore.
“There you stand, the good man doing nothing. And while evil triumphs, and your rigid pacifism crumbles to blood stained dust, the only victory afforded to you is that you stuck true to your guns.”

He gets zero protection or consideration.

This boat body bitch ass low IQ poser (elon) gets zero anything. Fuck him.

We've done enough you go low we go high. Fuck that. We go lower. Overwhelming retaliation. Every single time. Let every Republican of any size or shape know that if they want to fuck around and find out then it'll come with a vengeance.

Exactly this. It's only in bad taste if you are punching down to people less fortunate than you.

Tbh I think it's perfectly acceptable to punch down under certain circumstances. Someone calling me and mine the f-slur doesn't get a free pass because of ethnicity or class.

It isn't about the person you are insulting, but about what kind of person you want to be.

Do you really think that the shape of one's body is something they should be ashamed of because you personally find it disgusting? Or are you just trying to make them feel bad about themselves through whatever means possible without actually believing in whatever you are using as an insult?

If you believe pasty people with fridge bodies are disgusting for example (not saying you in particular used this), and you only say it out loud when you want to insult someone you don't personally like, then maybe you should do some self reflection on whether you are any better than the people who say trans people look disgusting.

Now I don't want anyone to think I'm some saint. Far from it. I'm probably one of the more viscious people on this forum, but I'm just keeping myself in check because I don't want to get perma'd. To give you an example: I've called someone a whore to their face, not because I actually believed that the other person was a prostitute, or if I believed that there is anything fundamentally wrong with being a prostitute or having sex with people for whatever reason, but because I knew what words would cause the maximum amount of emotional pain to that specific person. Do I think what I said was justified in any way? Absolutely not. In fact, I would not have blamed anyone for beating me to a pulp right then and there for being a gigantic piece of shit. I knew what I was doing was wrong and I don't try to twist it any other way. I just didn't give a shit because causing that person pain was more important to me than how others might view me, or if I'm causing mental pain for someone else that I didn't target with my insult in the process.

But bring it back to the point I was trying to make; insulting people's looks always risks causing collateral damage and lowers your own worth as a person.

The point I was trying to make is this. Making fun of Musk's looks is not the same as generally making fun of random people. Musk is a bully. He actively will go out of his way in order to antagonize others. So, if I make fun of his looks, I am not saying that to look that way is disgusting, I am pointing out the hypocrisy of what they are doing.

I also make it known before I do such a thing that I personally do not care what someone looks like as everyone is going to look how they look. I do however also point out that it is because of said bullying. It is to basically call the bully out on their bullshit. Their vanity is literally their weakness. Much like Andrew Tate or other people that consider themselves "alpha".

So attacking bullies, like Musk, Tate or Trump is not the same as making fun of the general look of people. And I have no issue calling out their flaws as a means to take them down a few notches.

    As a principle, correct.

But it is often a low-hanging fruit. A perennial example is people cluthcing pearls about racial purity/supremacy while being less than stellar specimens themselves.

I would say republicans aren't worth anything but indifference. But sadly as shit as they are as human beings, they are too dangerous to be indifferent about. So it's certainly low hanging fruit. But you can't go low enough, there is no fruit too low. Grind them until they are forced to change. Destroy the party.

At this point the stakes are too high and everyone's feelings about it are irrelevant. Democrats need to hard switch to play to win mode. If they means sabotaging the RNC, stealing the vote, then so be it. Republicans already think we're doing it anyway. If it means framing major republican players for a felony, do it. If it means hurting their feelings do it.

There is quite literally no bar anymore. Everything is on the table. And anyone who thinks it shouldn't be, or that democrats should continue to go high is a goddamn fool.

On topic though. This explains why Elon Musk has such baby dick energy about him.

Yes lets fight the Nazis by calling them names while they are actively shipping people to concentration camps detainment centers and firing everyone investigating them. That'll show them.

It's sure better than treating them like normal, decent, acceptable human beings.

It's not enough, but it takes next to no effort and has outsized returns on that minimal effort, if you find the right insults to get under their skin.

Especially when you use "names" like "fascist" or "racist" or "white supremacist" or "sadist", all of which are just accurate descriptions and avoiding using them is a kindness these people absolutely do not deserve. They deserve to be called out for who they are, to their faces, for the rest of their lives.

I can agree with the general stance of not attacking people's appearance, with the exception that here, they make a strong point of their appearance being important, and needling them about it again has an outsized effect. Trump hates the "tiny hands" thing. Does it matter if he has tiny hands? Not really. Does it bother him? Yuuuup. That's why you use it. Not because you hate tiny hands, but because it bothers them.

Elon's gone through a lot of gender-affirming surgeries. Mocking his lack of traditional natural masculinity gets to him. It doesn't mean lacking that is "bad", it means you know it's bothering Elon.

Yes, there should be some caution only in ensuring it's clear that it's a directed insult to Elon to twig his insecurities rather than a statement of personal animus towards a class of people. Elon's not a fuckwit because he's had gender-affirming care, he's tried to make "being a natural masculine ideal" part of his identity and dismantling that to his face is funny. That shouldn't be seen as reflecting on others who've had gender-affirming care.
