Blessed are the fornicates, may we bend down to be their whores. Blessed are the rich, may our labor deliver them more.
Blessed are the envious; bless the slothful, the wrathful, the vain. Blessed are the gluttonous, may they feast us to famine and war.
What of the pious, the pure of heart, the peaceful, the meek, the mourning, and the merciful? All doomed, all doomed

Oklahoma Legislature Passes Bill Banning Almost All Abortions
A signature away from being law...

I'd hate to see who they think shouldn't be testifying in public.
Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) at abortion access hearing: "How about if a child is halfway out of the birth canal? Is an abortion permissible then?"
Dr. Yashica Robinson: "I can't even fathom that ... just like you probably can't imagine what you would do if your daughter was raped."
They are not even trying to be clever anymore.
Rep. Dan Bishop to Dr. Yashica Robinson: "You're a medical doctor. What's a woman?"
"I'm a woman," she replies.
Getting really dumb here.
Connecticut passed H.B. 5414 which bars state courts from enforcing another state’s penalties against someone who performed or facilitated an abortion. It allows people sued under vigilante abortion bans, like Texas’ S.B. 8, to countersue in Connecticut court, collecting both damages and attorneys’ fees if they prevail. It prohibits state authorities from complying with another state’s request to investigate, penalize, or extradite individuals for providing or facilitating reproductive health services.
Washington State passed House Bill 1851 which does the same thing.
California has similar bill in the house.
There is a chronic shortage of medical professionals who know how to perform abortions. That may get much worse in anti-abortion states where medical schools will be forbidden to provide the necessary trainings. In those states, women that need abortion to save their life, may have the procedure performed by a doctor with no prior training. Assuming that abortion is still considered a live-saving medical option.
Meanwhile, California has approved 40M in additional funding for abortion training program.
Oklahoma lawmakers have passed a bill banning abortion from the moment of "fertilization." The measure now goes to the governor and is among the nation's strictest.
It's going to get worse women. Be ready!

There should really be a law where, if all you do is bitch and moan about something, then when a vote comes up for said thing and you vote against it, are immediately relieved of your job/spot/whatever.
Agreed, I would honestly go a step further and make all public responses and talking points be bound under oath for all members of office.
If they say something on the radio, tv, on stage or anything else as a public official and in a public capacity, they are defacto under oath and lying to the public is illegal at that point. Would love to figure out how to extend that to include when they misdirect with words that don’t answer something they are pretending they did not but sure how to do that or with lies of omission.
Saying they aren’t allowed to talk about information that is classified would be true but knowing the information and then claiming a lie or claiming they don’t know something when it can be proven they do could be legal issues. And this would extend to anyone speaking on their behalf.
But good luck getting them to pass regulations like that on themselves or even getting a group to enforce them and if they did, the GOP would make sure they were selectively enforced.
Kinda makes you wish for that shocker collar truth detector thing they had on an old episode of “Sliders”.

After 9 years of REPEAL AND REPLACE, when the Republicans finally had the chance to roll out their replacement bill for the ACA...they were scrambling to write it.
It's a feature of the Republican party, which is inherently reactionary vs. proactive, and largely doesn't have a firm political ideology outside of "seek power for the sake of power".
I used to think about that too, until I remember all those times in the past where I had a blind curve coming up and if I had to turn on a blinker in time I would have been in a ditch or those times when someone decided to come into my lane while driving or the time I had some guy almost hit me head on coming the wrong way on the free way.
Would like to have red light cameras be setup to scan for that too though and start giving out tickets for it.

The data on their effectiveness is pretty mixed, likely to do with a lot of regional/local factors. Generally reduce tickets and collisions, but only generally, as multiple studies of certain cities/locations have found increases in collisions.
