I mean, the USA is on the precipice of outright murderous fascism. Pretty much one bad election cycle away. So it's like driving on a high mountain road curving along a narrow cliff face; every turn is the most important turn you've ever made in your life, because missing any turn means you fall to your death. And that'll remain true until you're off that road.
You are welcome in my state of New York. My boss, the governor, sent basically everyone state-employed the following:
This may cost NYState more, but it will be worth the cost. We'll just have to send a little less to the federal goverment, and therefore the states which are reliant on welfare to stay afloat. I hope they take advantage of it -- there's going to be a lot of new mouths to feed.We feared this dark day—but New York did not hesitate to prepare for it. The Supreme Court has dealt a crushing blow to all who value the ability to make decisions about their own bodies. Let me be clear: the Supreme Court has failed us, but New York State will not. Our Abortion Access Always campaign builds on efforts to ensure that everyone knows that abortions remain safe, legal, and accessible here. As long as I am Governor, this State will protect you.
The Supreme Court's decision to overturn decades of precedent and turn back the clock on equality and a woman's right to have control over her own body, shocks the conscience beyond measure. The decision is appalling and an affront to everything we have fought to overcome in perfecting our union as a country. Make no mistake about it, the fight to live up to our founding ideals continues, and here in New York, we will lead that fight. Here in New York, abortions will remain safe, accessible and legal. And New York will continue to be a safe haven for women across this country.
As long as he's not blasting out fundraising text messages about how he needs money to ensure it remains legal in one of the most liberal states in the country.
Because I got a text to that end from Newsom in CA and told him to fuck off. Maybe like, wait a day before getting excited over this amazing fundraising opportunity that overturning Roe is.
My disappointment with Democrats continues to grow. But hey, at least he didn't post about a yoga pose he did today, so he's got that going for him. Nor did he go sing a song on some steps because uh...I guess that's work and doing something and meaningful?
Ah, finally a rapist can sue their victim for abortion if they miscarriage, USA USA USA.
The chance of miscarriage is between 10% to 15%, that's only for the known pregnancies.
So about every 10th pregnant woman in certain states will run the risk of facing jail because of nature.
Just imagine all the fun women will have when they have to prove after suffering a miscarriage that they didn't abort.
I know I'll catch shit for saying this, but the disappointment with Democrats is so intense that I honestly see no point in voting any longer. Even if they were handed an 80-20 majority in the Senate, I do not believe they would do anything to fix this. There'd just be 30 Joe Manchin's all struggling for their moment in the limelight. Or they'd find some other excuse to cock it up, like wanting it to be "bipartisan" or some such stupid ass nonsense. And, as you mentioned, shit like this is great for fundraising, which is all they truly care about.
No, the Democrats are not the solution. Voting is not the solution. They've got the system locked down and will never lack enough power to shape things the way they want them. Short of an actual uprising, I see nothing changing, and the masses are far too pacified for that to ever happen.
Well, we need to stop voting for the Manchin types and start voting for the people who will fight for positive change. I just casted my ballot today and I carefully went through each of the candidates for the positions they are running for and learned about their platform. I understand that for many, this is a time-consuming process, but in this day and age, I think it is imperative.
We really need to become more aware of the people we put in office. In many cases, I look at the incumbent as someone I might not want to give another term if they are part of the "keep things the way they are" crowd aka career politicians.
So yes, voting is the solution, but it needs to be for individuals that deserve voting for. Stop simply voting for the big name, vote for the change you want to see.

Looking for <Good Quotes for Signature>.
I wonder if crime will increase by 20% to 25% by 2040 now?
So as there are already news stories and tiktoks going about how companies will help women with the travel expenses and medical costs if they want an abortion how likely will it be that states that outlaw abortion for everything but medical reasons will still press charges?

Even if, what do they care? More free labor force for their jails.
Wohoo modern slavery!
Police teargassed people peacefully protesting the overturning of Roe v Wade in Arizona

A Fetus is not a person under the 14th amendment.
Christians are Forced Birth Fascists against Human Rights who indoctrinate and groom children. Prove me wrong.
Nor with they actually stop having abortions. Overturning Roe was never about abortions, it was all about controlling women's bodies. Controlling anything and everything they can. Conservatives still have abortions whenever they need to - and "god forgives them".
The Onion right now; on point as always.

I think, perhaps more specifically, it's about making sure women bear the externalities of "unwanted" sexual behavior. Keep in mind that the same people cheering this decision are the ones that respond to a rape case with "what was she wearing." As in: "maybe it was her lack of modesty that got her raped."
"We must make our choice. We may have democracy, or we may have wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both."

sure once they are born. i guess you still think that somehow that thing inside of a woman is viable at 6 weeks.
good lets take it out and let the father or the state who wants the thing to live take care of it and pay for all the impossible hospital charges of trying to keep it alive.
deal?
Buh Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!

PALLETS OF BRICKS NEAR THE WHITE HOUSE! ANTIFA!!!!! CAPITOL POLICE SAVE US!!!!!
It's literally a construction site, and there's signage all over. Just a reminder, the people celebrating today's ruling are compulsive liars.
Kavanaugh made a comment about this very topic; “May a state bar a resident of that state from traveling to another state to obtain an abortion?” he wrote in a concurring opinion. “In my view, the answer is no based on the constitutional right to interstate travel.”
But some states will try.
The pro-life movement isn't just men wanting to control women. That's part of it, obviously, but there are a lot of women in that movement and they're not all offering themselves up as sex slaves for men. For a lot of these women, abortion is an affront to what a woman "should be" according to them. You're not a real woman unless you bear children, and outlawing abortion is a way to force other women into motherhood. That's why they're not interested in allowing contraception of any sort. For example: https://themindshield.com/ohio-repub...ity-for-women/
Is it just internalized misogyny? Yeah, absolutely. The detail is that it's just misogyny of a certain type of woman, not all of them.
The other insidious motivation is just straight up white supremacy. It's not a coincidence that this happened now after a decade plus of white anger and panic over the reality that whites will no longer be the majority in the United States.
