When it comes to your views on abortion. If you are religious, let me ask you this,

Do you believe that the human soul is a physical part of the body? Or do you think it is our consciousness, our ability to think, feel, and reason? Which do you think is your soul? Because if you feel it is your consciousness, then anytime before that develops, there is no soul and is not murder.

And if you feel it isn't the consciousness, try and explain how the abortion is murder but unplugging a brain dead family member isn't.

I did read an encouraging article about using telehealth to get appointments for an abortion pill that can then be sent by federal mail which would prevent the state from being able to do anything to stop either of those.

They could, of course, criminalize it - but they'd have to find out...so unless they go full on big brother (which OH BOY to see the hypocrisy of the right going all big government on this) there may be more access than conservatives thing.

It still sucks but there are at least options. Unless it gets outlawed federally. Which...I don't think can happen given the ruling.

But the relevant people here mainly care about the morality of the situation as they perceive it, not so much about a utilitarian cost-benefit analysis.

Isms bore me. I think they are only brought by people who seek to marginalize the potential of each ism to provide something meaningful. Name it, Capitalism, Socialism, even Communism-- all contain something of merit towards structuring a society. The biggest flaw in human history has been the need to take the worst of a system along with the best. It doesn't have to be all of one and none of another.

Unless they decide that states can ignore contracts made in other states this issue isn't as clean as you want it to be. The original SCOTUS ruling made that clear.

I know people who as early as this year got packages of weed in the mail from California without issue. Can definitely see them getting the pills the same way.

And they can't outlaw it federally, the Supreme Court was able to strip away protections of it but they don't have any ability to ban it themselves but Moscow Mitch the Bitch has already talked about trying to ban it federally if they retook Congress, the Senate, and Presidency only to have the rest of the GOP say "Nope" on that one because they know what it would do to them and how long it would last.

I don't think it matters what the ruling says because republicans long since realized that they can do whatever they want

The most baffling thing about all this is that anyone believed them. It was blindingly obvious the agenda of all these yahoos was going after Roe v Wade.

Clarence Thomas explicitly said he wants to strike down the decisions prohibiting states from banning contraceptives, premarital/extramarital sex, sodomy, and gay marriage.

You mean like how we have had laws that permitted that? How we already have states saying they will enforce it?

You literally have Texas saying they will arrest a woman who has an abortion out of state, they already are showing they are willing to violate the full faith and credit clause.

So, they are going to kick Tesla, Boring Co., Well's Fargo, Citibank, BofA, Costco, etc. out of Texas?

But not interracial marriage because he's a total obvious hack.

Nope, their logic is if a woman get pregnant. The only people liable should be her and if she can prove the father, him too.

If the conditions that let to the contract being made are later found to be not legal, the contract is void.

There are plenty of reasons marriages (or indeed any form of legal contract) can be declared null and void. There's no reason same sex marriage couldn't be put on that list by states if the conditions that facilitated it in the first place are reversed. I agree it would be a lot messier, but it's a long way from impossible.

Right now, some GOP-controlled states are wanting to ban IUDs, specifically, as well as abortion pills and Plan B.

What I would LOVE to see, is if these companies moved themselves and their employees over to states like Wyoming and others in such large numbers that they flipped those smaller states and ensured they couldn't hold the Senate again and then moved on from that.

Watch the nation realign on that way and watch the GOP start seeking to abolish the Senate in response to protect themselves or attempt to divide Texas into smaller states to try and keep control in the Senate.
