If God was so against abortion why does he perform 23 million of them a year via miscarriages?
We should stop calling them pro life. That group (for the most part) don't really care about life after birth, and their policies are not pro life or pro health. Pro forced birth is what they should be called.
If they were pro life, they would be pro:
Forced blood donations
Forced organ donation on dath
Forced bone marrow donation
Forced kidney donation while living (we have two)
Getting rid of the death penalty
Stopping war
etc
Nothing they really do is pro life.
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add

to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.
It's more of a ritual spell than an actual set of functional instructions. It involves putting dust into water and cursing it and making the woman drink it. If she cheated on her husband, the curse will make her miscarry. It's in Numbers 5:11-31. But still; it's meant to induce a miscarriage, and that's what an "abortion" is.

I don't know either, anymore! I think people should be able to look it up, and I think poking holes in claims by religious people about their faith is important when it comes to them trying to argue that everyone else should be held subject to their faith's rules. I don't have any active points, and I figured I could take the hit if it did cross a line in some mod's opinion.
And let me emphasize; I am not telling anyone what their faith should be. Just noting that it's weird for Christians to claim their religious objections to abortion must be universally applied to non-believers, when their own religious canon does not itself support that objection. If they were letting it inform their own lives and choices, I wouldn't try and make this same argument. It's not about telling people they can't believe that, it's rejecting religious subjugation of others.

It's all just prayer and ritual when you take the dogmatic bigotry out of it. Calling it a "ritual spell" wasn't meant as a slur or something.
A useful one, in the context of the time, so not meaningfully distinct from a "blessing".
If you're implying anything moral about the term, I don't see why religious extremism, particularly forms which directly attack people's basic rights and dignity, should be offered any kind of seat at any table, or indeed anything but overt hostility and condescension. The only people who oppose abortion rights are extremist religious misogynists. Nobody cares what they believe.
Republicans don't care if women die from abortion bans — but they don't want you to know about it
Women will keep dying, but the GOP is working hard to destroy the evidence
“But this isn’t the end. I promise you, this is not the end, and we have to regroup and we have to continue to fight and continue to work day in and day out to create the better society for our children, for this world, for this country, that we know is possible.” ~~Jon Stewart
In my opinion abortions issue is the Republican version of Dems' gender identity politics.
It's just an idiotic hill to die on, when it should be pretty a easy solution of letting the woman decide within a limit of medical reason.
Republicans have as much lessons to learn as Dems, they just lucked out that Dems were just a tad crazier this time around.
You realize it was almost entirely the Republicans screaming about gender politics, right? Harris virtually never mentioned it. Meanwhile, the GOP spend over a hundred dollars for every transgender person in the country running anti-trans ads on TV.
It's also, frankly, exactly the same damn solution: let people decide for themselves within a limit of medical reason. But oh no, we can't have people deciding for themselves! It might make some people uncomfortable, and we have to give them the religious freedom to impose their beliefs on everyone else.
You keep thinking that. It is in my interest Dems would not learn any lessons.
There is a reason why someone like AOC removed gender identity tag from hew Twitter literally two days after elections were over. That shit did not fly with the people.
But if less smart Dems prefer to keep their heads in the sand about it - by all means, it's better for me.
Please explain where Harris ran on gender identity politics, it should be rather easy to show that direct relationship. Republicans ran on identity politics they spend over 250 million dollars on gender issue commercials and they couldn't stop talking about the scary trans people. It's also good to keep in mind peak "woke" which was 2018 and 2020 resulted in big election wins for democrats.
If you look at the polling most people don't care there's no correlation, it's wishful thinking by the pundit class. The top issues are kitchen table issues, people aren't voting on whose genitals is the correct one.
Objectively. Yes. Absofuckinglutely.
Claiming the Dems "pushed the envelope of sanity" on this, is ludicrous. That's like saying that the people who fought for end of slavery, or the civil rights movement, or the right for women to have the same rights as men "pushed the envelope of sanity".
The fight for basic human rights for ALL people is not something you just casually pick up and put down when convenient, and those "red guys" are objectively on the wrong side of history here, just like all the similar bigots and assholes who resisted progressive change in the past. They will not be remembered kindly, and rightly so.
