Never had any issues with the one attached to launching overwolf but will still switch as to have have to launch 2 programs lol.

the curse is finally lifted we are free \o/
It's not that hard to just bypass these shit apps and update manually. I check for updates every Friday. Takes about 5 minutes on the 31 addons I check for (for TBC Classic).
These apps are nothing but a target for hacking, vulnerabilities and are written by shitty programmers.
Good to see this. Fuck Overshit and anything related to it.
I will wait what people think about this client and maybe decide in 1-2 weeks to be back to it if it won't cause any problems.
Something tells me that it will be still very invasive tho.
If you do Minecraft modding then you really learn to hate that Overwolf piece of crap. Imagine scrolling down 5 mods and it takes a minute to do that.
Really is a shame authors don't migrate to using Github. It'd also make getting others support, for free, beneficial.
The problem with Github is discoverability. It's fantastic for hosting code and allowing collaboration between devs, but the discoverability of github is absolutely atrocious, which is one of the main benefits of WoW addon sites like wowup and curseforge, the ability to search for addons, and filter them by various categories.

I don't know how small of a part it is but I'm going to risk it at saying neither do you, but what matters is, is it smaller than what the others offer?
I don't give two shits about overwolf, what I give a shit is that most users jumped on support of apps like wowup that were literally living off of other people's infrastructure and money, while trying to sell the "poor me" story as if they were being attacked by curse/overwolf. And honestly, that just shows how dumb these people are and shows they don't understand in the slightest how everything they use works. Shit costs money, i know this generation is used to everything being "free" but it's never free, you're paying one way or the other.
So I'm sorry I don't defend people that make money on an app that they then run on other people's infrastructure while not wanting to pay for it. Which btw they're still doing by using github's and other website's infrastructure for it. They're not running their own servers/storage or paying the bills on the transfer bandwidth or storage. Do you know how much it costs to transfer Terabytes of data?

I'm not taking any fights and on WowUp now many addons are not available like Recount and Altoholic, so I will simply switch to this one. It's not a passionate topic to me.
I hope it's as easy to update all addons on all clients here.
First impressions are this is good, it auto updates addons as long as the app is running, much better than WowUp's manual click.
I think they should fix the titles of the WoW games though, not "WoW", "WoW 2" and "WoW 3", but with real names like Retail, Classic Era and TBC. EDIT: This fixed itself now it display games correctly, nice.
I would also like a timestamp when the addon was updated, not "Updated Recently". (Tip: You can see the date by hovering over "Updated Recently")

the creators get a majority not a "small part" source, literally all the creators who have said again and again they get paid more per month then ever now thanks to overwolf.

you have never had to redo all your addons every time they have changed, you literally just press scan...
