Nah. I'll take "Thanks for proving my point for 2,000."
The most difficult thing to do is accept that there is nothing wrong with things you don't like and accept that people can like things you don't.

A lot of people complain about the lore but I've always liked it. It's not the greatest, never has been, but few are the stories that can pretend to build a great lore and most of wow expansions have good to great lore.

What you really want to complain about is the storytelling, the narrative tools used, etc.

Because if anything, TBC has great lore and built some very cohesive stories at the price of a couple of retcon (unfortunately). Shadowlands has an awesome lore as well, and in comparison Cataclysm has a very weak lore.

But both TBC and Shadowlands have atrocious storytelling. TBC only moves forwards by killing off its antagonists who used to be fan favourite protagonists in WC3. Shadowlands moves forward by having an unstoppable godlike creature keep everyone in the dark about its motives while all its interesting backstory is barely told to us or told too late.

But if this is what bothered you then what the hell are you still doing playing this game, you shouldn't expect much more unfortunately. WotLK had an even worst storytelling than this. Cataclysm was a big failure of story telling, MoP did a whole patch focused on Voljin rebellion but forgot to include any story beat... WoD introduced every character present in its last raid after you killed them all, Legion is very decent but the story itself isn't that great (The Medhiv cameo is the definituon of frustrating), BfA is all over the place so I won't bother.

I'm all good with it because I don't expect much more than what they've been able to deliver until now. And what really drives me is the lore of their world, discovering these places that hold stories and myths. And on that they almost always deliver and clearly have for Shadowlands. I can only recommend you to give it another try if you didn't enjoy it the first time. Take your time, check the achievements and covenants and explore the hell out of every zones, chat with every npcs you encounter, they have so many things to tell.

You are absolutely correct, if people find a game fun and entertaining they quit all the time to avoid all the fun. Just like saying you and lots of people having fun means the game is fun and that people leave do so for reasons

The main timeline has to stay at universe-level threats. However, we really don't know the villain of the Dragonflight xpac.
This is not at all true, it just has to be approached with care and attention. A threat is a threat. All it needs to be is stronger than what the non player characters & factions can beat through what might constitute ordinary soldiers in azeroth and it will be something the adventurer/player character has to engage with.

Meh is was fine. Not great mind you but fine. Blizzard has made far worse.

I see that you didn't either because TBC did not butcher the canon as hard as Shadowlands.

It's a game. If it's not a good game anymore, people leave. The game has been steadily hemmorrhaging subs since BfA

Spoiler alert: they are making Wrath Classic.

This isn't gonna happen. Blizzard is not gonna "kill" WoW to make "WoW 2: timeline boogaloo".

No, they wouldn't. Not to mention that the purpose of the Classic servers isn't to "veer off into WoW 2" but to be a window to the past. Museums, so to speak.

Nope. That is the last thing they need. So far down the list that it's not even part of the list. I can tell you with 100% guarantee that if Blizzard decided to "kill" WoW to start "WoW Remake", myself and my entire guild would stop playing entirely because honestly I am not starting over with zero achievement points, pets, mounts, toys and gold. And I imagine many more, possibly the majority would not be happy to lose the progress they spent years on just because Blizzard decided to "close the game to start over".
The only way I could see them doing a reboot is if you could carry over your pets/mounts/gold and it all gets unlocked on your account once you lvl 1 toon to max level. A with updated and higher rez graphics.

100% of Shadowlands was bullshit retcons. At least a handful of TBC retcons made sense. Though TBC definitely wasn't 99% retcons.

The problem with that is that the development of the new game would be at least 50% mounts, pets, toys and etc.
