Question The name of days + months on Azeroth?

Do u think the names of the days of the week and the months of a the year on Azeroth are the same names as they are in real life?

Probably not, the etymology wouldn't make sense and there's too many disparate cultures for them to be the same

But Blizz hasn't addressed it yet because they don't care about lore and flavor to the same extent as the playerbase

I'm under the impression that they mostly measure time in seasons and moons

    Why wouldnt the etymology work?

Everything else is translated to the client's language.

I suddenly realized the only games I've ever played that I can think of off the top of my head that had their own days and month names are the Elder Scrolls games. I'm sure there are others, and I've played a lot of games that have some kind of calendar split into months and sometimes even distinct weeks, but they never really have unique names. Like FFXIV for example, have months as Astral and Umbral "moons" for months, with a a god or goddess and element associated with them, but generally are just referred to as the number of the moon it is, and each day is just referred as the number of the "sun" it is.

More games set in their own universes should develop their calendars more. It's a nice additional touch to add to the immersion.=

Sunday and Monday make sense regardless, but as others have said the other four are Norse and those deities are in wow.

For months, theyre named after roman gods or leaders and the others are named by their number.

It's never come up so I presume it's just the same as ours.

Friday is named after Frey, NOT Freya.
    Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK
