So Battle pass system Doesnt bode well already and no pve content, untill "Future seasons" so Essentially, its the same pvp game with a fresh coat of paint nothing special?
Already feels dead on Arrival honestly.

That looks depressing af
I mean, unless Dota 2 revamped theirs, it was nearly impossible to finish compendiums without buying level boosts unless you played far too much.
Honestly an ideal one would look like Fortnites older ones in my opinion, or Hearthstones. Both are pretty easy to cruise through while playing like twice a week.
Hearthstone especially, I usually knock out just the weeklies and still get it done.

PvE content is a separate group that was unbundled from the PvE.
If they're still sticking to it, the PvE will probably be a one time purchase. Unless they killed it off completely and that wasn't mentioned at all.

We're all newbs, some are just more newbier than others.
Just a burned out hardcore raider turned casual.
I'm tired. So very tired. Can I just lay my head on your lap and fall asleep?

It doesn't really matter how much MMOC dislikes this game now that it's F2P. It's going to have so many players now its disgusting.
Everyone who signs up for the new beta is planned to get in by some point in July, they say as much. This is for beta access after that beta opt-in period ends, or just being "first" in the beta day one. If letting customers pay to get in the beta a few weeks ahead of everyone else is greedy... its the customers who are that impatient to blame.

From the very start Blizzard stated that OW2 would be free for the PvP side and only required to enjoy the PvE side. If you bought OW1 you would get to play with all maps, heroes, and modes as well as with OW2 players. So there was no attempt to get people to buy something again and Free to Play only makes it so new players no longer have to buy OW1 or OW2.
There are plenty of things to hate on Blizzard over that you don't need to invent conspiracies to do so.

You know a community is bad when moderators lock a thread because "...this isnt the place to talk about it either seeing as it will get trolled..."
you don't think
"HEY GUYS GET THIS LIMITED TIME SKIN IF YOU COMPLETE THE BATTLE PASS"
is in the least bit predatory and/or scummy?
It's insidious because the way most of them work is "pay, and I let you try to get shit if you still keep playing" (disclaimer: most of them need to be played like no-lifers to reach to the end, or even impossible without paying to jump ahead)
The way it should work is "pay once, unlock when you want" in the sense of, once you payed, you can play at your own pace and you won't lose anything of what you already paid.
The time/amount limited, PAID shit is a really terrible scourge that entered the game industry, where it has no place, because these limits are completely artificial outside of creating pressure on player to spend money.

OW1 would be automatically upgraded to OW2 once it launches. there would be no more OW1.
If you want to put it on alcohol equivalent, it would be bar charging a montly pass just for entering the establishment and giving you a "free" amount of beers and snacks per day (let's say a can of beer and 4 peanuts), and if you miss a day, you lose those "free" beers". You can't go the next day and say "I'll get today's plus yesterday's beers, thanks".
The thing is, the amount they charge you is the equivalen of drinking 3 beers and 2 bowls of snacks per day. So people end paying more in the end that what would cost without a "pass model", but it's concealed so good that usually people don't notice how they play on their human-psyche flaws.
It's using human psicology to make people spend money, like casinos.
And this thing started like 25 or so years ago, with game expansions. They seemed fair at the start, adding new content, but jsut a few years down the road they realized "why release a full game when we can cut it up in pieces and sell them at a full box price".
Then they came the DLCs: "it's like expansion packs, but more frecuent, smaller and cheaper".
Then they stopped to be cheaper.
Then they added the loot-boxes: "it's like a DLC but with surprise", but in reality is like trading card envelopes but completly ethereal, untradeable (with really few exceptions), and you don't really own the items.
Then they though: "why put random shit for people to buy, when they can pay for a chance to work to earn something!", and lo and behold, battlepasses.

Yet riot is constantly praised when they release two champs VS 50+ skins + over 10 battle passes every year; while Blizzard is demonized for exactly the same reason.
How exactly do you think they will get money if they release a f2p game with no cosmetic content and/or battle passes and/or lootboxes?
And thats the problem: young people aren't really aware of how much they are being ripped off nowadays compared to how it used to be just 2 decades away, because they were too young or hadn't been born yet and they don't have the context of what it's happening: basically the gambling industry taking over the game industry to use it as a vehicle for it's business.
